The AtZ Show when watching blade runner 2049, in the quietest parts of the film, a guy two seats to my right, had a horrible cold and was yawning and sneezing and coughing all the time. It was bad enough. Until he decided to eat his nachos louder than the film in it's action sequences

I saw Get Out with my husband opening weekend. He was pretty much the only white guy there. My husband thought it was hilarious too, so it wasn't a bad experience, just a little ridiculous 😂😅

classyfacemakeup The theater closest to my house has a completely black audience except for me, and for the most part I think the banter makes the experience more fun. It’s even turned into a party a couple times with people passing me liquor bottles to take a sip or a pull from a vape.
So when I got my ticket for Black Panther opening weekend I was sure that it was gonna be wild! Couldn’t have been more wrong! You could’ve heard a pin drop! There was even complete role reversal when I let out a “dayum!” during the first fight scene and was shushed by a guy my age lmao

OMG the reserved seat one! When I went to Black Panther I picked out my seat like an hour before hand and walked around a little bit, then got my food and still went in early just to get comfortable and some lady and her son were in my spot already stretched out. I thought they had just miscounted or something, it happens, but no, they were about five seats away. And she got all upset about having to move too. Then more people came in and they had actually chosen the seats between me and the disgruntled lady and decided they didn't want to be next to people so they moved to my other side, few minutes later some more folks come in and those people had sat in their seats, and she still continued to bitch about "assigned seating", closest I've ever been to cussing someone out in a theater.
Listen folks, just because you don't think you should have to sit in the seats you choose doesn't mean other people don't want to sit in the seats they chose. Yeah that's my seat, yeah it is the best in the theater, move.

When I saw Civil War, there was this group of middle schoolers behind me
Who were constantly talking and on their phones. Then, whenever any sort of joke happened in the movie, they’d do this overly loud fake laugh at every joke.
When I saw Rio 2, there were these kids behind me that would repeat every line in the movie in an overly sarcastic voice.
I hate going with a bunch of my friends to superhero movies because theyre constantly asking me questions. Most of the time, its stuff we arent supposed to know yet or its stuff thats totally irrelevant to the movie.
I forgot what movie but there were a bunch of teenage girls giggling and taking selfies with the flash on for the first half hour until some old guy yelled “turn your phones off!”
When I saw Kong: Skull Island, these kids, who were with a parent btw, who were in the row behind me thought it was funny to throw handfulls of popcorn on me every like 10-15 minutes. The parent with them only stopped them within the last 10 min of the movie

My family and I went to go see Doctor Strange on it's opening weekend and there was this row of young adults, they had to been at least between 20-25, and they kept repeating some of the lines from the movie that they thought was funny and laugh or someone wouldn't didn't hear what a character said so their friend would repeat it to them. And at the end of the row was an older man with his wife and the guy kept giving commentary through most of the movie. My dad and I told him to be quiet and even his wife told him to shut up but he still kept talking. He would get up and leave everytime there was an action sequence so that was great!

When I saw Annabelle Creation opening night there was a little 6-7 year old boy next to me that kept crying and telling his mom he wanted to leave, but she just rudely kept telling him to be quiet and suck it up. The kicker was that I was one of the 3 managers of the theater, and when I politely explained my position to the Mom and offered her some options regarding consoling her son’s distress as a courtesy to him and the other customers, she actually stood up, screamed at me that I was some “lying, white-ass bitch” that “had no damn business” telling her what to do with her son, and that I had better leave the theater or else she’d kick my ass. As if I wanted to spend my time off work dealing with problem customers. Needless to say they were removed from the theater. Although it was very funny watching her demand I be fired and arrested, and that she deserved lifetime free tickets for emotional damages while trying to report me to the assistant manager on duty, only to find out that I was his boss and that I was the one to suck up to for free tickets. I decided to take the high road and gave them two vouchers (since the poor little guy looked terrified at this point and didn’t deserve to go though any more of an ordeal), but I didn’t want the Mom to have all the satisfaction so I let the boy pick which movie they would see. He picked The Nut Job 2 hahaha

    Three instances:
    1. During Fate of the Furious, a group of college kids from a particular dorm decided to have an entire scripted call and response chant about how great their hall is, throughout the first scene of the movie. The blood of the Lord and Christ's sacrifice on the cross is the only thing that kept me from prison.
    2. During the opening scene of Thor: Ragnarok, my older sister took a call from my aunt and proceeded to answer questions about where she was, where her kids were, what she'd eaten, what she was wearing...I was mortified. The movie's running and she's just answering all the banal questions, disturbing me and everyone else. At one point the call dropped, so I took her phone, put it on silent and hid it in my purse. It rang (read: vibrated) a few times during the movie, but no one died so I assume the calls weren't THAT important.
    3. About two weeks ago, my family and I went to see Black Panther and two kids behind me (about 5 & 7) had a running commentary with each other and their dad throughout the entire movie, including such precious gems as: "Is the movie almost done?" "How much more is left?" "That's a plant?" "Why are they burying him?" "Is that the bad guy?" "Who's the little boy?" "Where's Captain America?" Full volume. No whispers. It was delightful!
I've had experiences that were just as bad and even worse (let's not even go into my Black Panther 4D experience sitting in front of a school trip group) but those were the first to come to mind and they all happened within the last year. It's been an experience.

Back in the day me and my friends used to buy tickets for the oldest most unpopular movies that we could possibly find in the entire theater, just so that we could do all of the things that you shouldn’t do in theaters without worry of repercussion.
We would be drinking, smoking, throwing snacks at the screen, freestyling, and hooking up with girls (every now and then).
But occasionally we’d get to see a movie that everyone slept on, or that was actually much better than the general movie-theater-going public gave credit to.
But that was back in the days.

When I saw Gladiator in the theatre (yes, I'm old), there was this elderly couple and he seemed to have forgotten his hearing aid. So after almost every sentence he screamed :“what did he/she say?“
And his wife screamed the dialogue again at him.
After a while she started to shout without him complaining. But every once in a while he then shouted back: “Why are you repeating the dialogue? I'm not deaf! ... what did he say?“

We go get our tickets, sit down trailers play and the movie finally starts everyone's excited. Then maybe about 20 mimutes in everyone starts hearing someome snoring, but it was during a loud scene so we thought we were hearing things. But then it continues, for another couple of minutes until someone goes to get a attendant who goes and wakes him up and the whole theather starts clapping. The time I saw Lincoln was interesting. Some woman and her small child sat in my row. The very young girl proceeded to audibly complain about being there non-stop until she fell asleep and started to snore loudly. Another patron had left and brought back the manager. Turns out the woman, and her niece, were just waiting to go to a different movie which started later and decided to enter this one to pass the time. This all happened within the first hour of an almost three hour movie. As soon as they left, a group of three women took the exact same seats. They reacted to everything on-screen in an over dramatic fashion, which was done in the most stereotypical way possible. They also had snuck in fried chicken (which smelled delicious) in plastic bags, making all sorts of noise in the process and furthering the stereotype. It was a cringy experience.

I already watched it, but I was just accompanying my friend. There was a guy on the far left, he was laughing out loud for some reason. Then there was a guy on my far left, he was calling out the guy on the left. It escalated into a trashtalking session, over the climax of the movie, mind you (where team cap and team iron man clash on the airfield)
They eventually met in the middle, just above the screen, and fisticuffs happened. By the time the security got involved, the scene was over.
Gotta say, their fight was much more exciting than the whole airfield sequence

Not annoying, I just thought it was funny and interesting: My brother and I saw Spiderman Homecoming sometime in the opening week and there was this group of elderly women who were insanely excited to see what was presumably their favorite superhero. As they got snacks they said to the concessions guy "We're gonna see Spiderman, Da Da Da Daaa!" and during the movie they occasionally whispered to each other (only during loud parts) something along the lines of "You think Spiderman's gonna die?" "He better not, Spiderman's the best.".
Also some idiot brought their infant to the midnight release of Batman v Superman. It lasted until past 2 AM and this baby was crying the entire time. It was infuriating.

When my friends and I went to see 22 Jump Street, a middle-aged couple came in and the husband sat right in front of us while the wife preceded to sit at the total opposite end of the theatre and an entire row down. We quickly found out why since the husband obnoxiously and loudly laughed about every 2 minutes during the movie, even yelling across the theatre mid-laugh to his wife saying things like "he just said blah blah" or "can you believe that!?" Afterwards when we were walking to our cars, we saw them come out and the husband got on a motorcycle that was parked ON THE CURB in front of the movie theatre and rode away. It was the best/worst experience ever.

    PEOPLE
It was a cold December afternoon just 3 days before Christmas. I needed to get a gift for my parents. I needed a ride to my local theater, but I wanted to keep the tickets a suprise. So I thought I see Jumanji, and get the tickets for Star Wars in secret. So I see Jumanji and when I get there this family took my seat (my theater has reserved seating. They show you a screen of the seats in the theater and you pick a seat) Now I was about 8 minutes late after the showtime (trailers haven't even started yet) I see the family and this little kid was sitting in my seat. I decide to be nice and let the kid sit there (he looked about 8 or 9) I found an open seat just one row above where I was gonna sit and I only had to hope no one had that seat (no one had it). Unfortunately the woman I sat next to would not stop talking during the movie.
NOTE: The family who's kid took my seat did apologize to me after the movie ended; so that was nice

Oh damm yo better prepare yourself for this story.
    Setting the scene
I was watching A Dogs Purpose, it’s Thursday 1 O’Clock showing, I pick my seat (G8) right in the middle there a maximum of 10 people in the cinema, all sitting behind me.
The film start and I get 5 minuets Of enjoyment then, oh then, this woman and her son come in and sit next to me, and then she go and asked me “how are you?” I said “sorry this isn’t speed dating, shhhh” that shut her up for about 15-20 minuets, she then opens her bag and gets out a vacuum packed peace of meat, he son goes out the screening and comes back with it opened, my god that smell. Some dogs die I cry, while I’m crying this woman is clapping, humming and at the end sings along to the score.
    So that’s my story
    P.S.
went to the toilet after, while I’m doing my business, this big, bald block walks in and says (oh and I’m still pissing) “just spent 2 hours crying”.

And I kept thinking to myself, why couldn't I have done it first?

I've had too many bad experiences to count. Some even include the person I actually brought to the movie, and paid for her damn ticket. But one of the most satisfying experiences was when a friend of mine and I were up at the top row. I don't even remember the name of the movie, but a group of teens sat right beside us. One in particular kept texting and leaning over to talk to the girl sitting one seat away from me. This guy was at least four seats down from her.
Finally, this fucktard comes and sits in the seat next to me, to be right beside the girl. He's making stupid jokes, texting, etc. I pull out my phone and I type this message, tap him on his shoulder, and show him: *Will you please shut the fuck up, before I explode?* He looked at the message, made one final text, and put away his phone and sat like a statue throughout the rest of the movie. When it was over, I did reach over, shake his hand, and said, "Thank you. I really appreciate it."
It was one of the most awkward, yet satisfying movie experiences ever.

My worst experience... so I'm new at Mexico and I love how cheap tickets are and the variety of films they show. But then I went to the "platinum" cinemas. You pay an extra, and you get a less crowded room and amazingly confortable seats. So, what's the problem? They offer a "waiter" service, where you push a button to call a waiter and the waiter goes to your seat to take your order and brings it back. I thought it was something reasonable, like a service that was offered during trailers, while you are waiting for the film to begin, but not... I went to see Lady Bird and it was waiters coming and going and taking orders loudly during the first 10 minutes of the film. Never again.

I was at Guardians of the Galaxy 2 with some friends. The theater we were in had stadium seating, so we could see pretty clearly what was going on a few rows in front of us.
About halfway through the movie, a guy about 3 rows in front of us did that thing where he leaned over and whispered something to his friend. Couldn't even hear him.
Then, some lady half a row away started screaming at him for "disturbing everyone else in the theater" with his talking. The guy was just kind of like "okay," and went back to minding his own business. She didn't like that and started screaming at him about ignoring her. The guy and his friends nervous-laugh and tell her to leave them alone. She yells, "Keep talking and I'll give you something to laugh about" and her hand shoots into her purse. Everyone in the general vicinity jumps back, because it looked like she was about pull out a gun or something. Instead, she just apparently decided now was a good time to apply chapstick, but my friends and I all thought we were about to witness a shooting for a a second there.

You say old people is the best companion you could get for a movie?
Where I live they could be as anoying as a kid or even more.
All the Money in the World, matinee showing, teather almost empty. This guy comes 2 rows in front of me and starts talking about the trailers very louldly. That was my first warning. During the movie he make this surprise noises in the most loud and obnoxious way possible. Everytime Getty did or say something greedy the guy exclamed: "what an asshole". During those parts just after something unexpected happen the guy started to talk to the person next to him, I couldn't hear exactly what he was saying but the volume of his voice was enough to irritate the whole teather. At the end, during the lñast minute or so he just starts ramblin his opinion or what he thought of the movie or the real life chartacter and kept talking during the credits and then he just left. The person next to him apparently didn't knew him and it was a guy that struggled to put his crutches behind the seats at the beggining so sadly he couldn't change his seat. During the movie I thought this asshole was some idiot that don't know how to behave in public but when the lights turn on I saw it was one of those old persons that still think it's 1970 or something and it's cool being an asshole at the movies.
Where I live old fellas talk a lot, they have an opinion for everything and of course they bring that shit to the movies.

Wholesome movie theater experience: while seeing Logan my boyfriend accidentally bought tickets for the wrong day. It wouldn't have been a big deal but it was reserved seating. So we sat down in our (supposed) seats when two guys came up to us and let us know that they had the same seats reserved on their tickets. We both were pretty confused so we pulled aside an employee who noticed that we had the date for yesterday on our ticket, meaning the two guys were the rightful seat owners. We knew we were in the wrong so we were about to leave and find a way to come back the next day, but both of these dudes wanted us to see the movie that day too. They repeatedly asked the employee if there was anything she could do for us despite it being an almost sold out theater. Thanks to these guys she found two unreserved seats somewhere further back. If you're reading this, thank you Logan movie theater dudes.

Here is my experience watching Coco. It was late at night in an AMC on like a Thursday. My mom and I go to our reserved seats, but the theater is mainly empty anyway. Then a woman and her 2 infant babies, I assume 2 and 1, sit RIGHT next to me right before the movie starts. First 2 minutes were okay, but then her 2-year-old starts making loud baby noises loudly and does not stop. You would THINK a mother would try and calm him down, but nope, didn't care at all. Then he starts to CRAWL on my armrest and grab my drink from my holster. I move it to the other holster while this kid is nearly crawling on me. Parents do NOTHING. The 1-year-old starts to grab my shoe, NOTHING. I missed at least 20% of the movie from these distractions. Now I WANTED to move, but my SEAT RECLINER was not moving back up and I was literally stuck between my Mom and this family for the entire movie. I could not believe how little these parents gave a shit about the movie experience. They could have easily gotten up (again my chair wasnt going back up) and moved to the EMPTY front row seats. It was a nightmare.

Black panther converted me into a full on misanthrope
small little asian kid, talking the whole movie, doing the one nostril nose blow, sitting on MY chairs arm
White guy a row and to the left of me, the tosspots phone went off
row of black people a few rows down, full on applauding after every fight sequence
    STFU people
was my personal worst movie going experience
i went back the next week and loved the movie. bring on Infinity War on the 26th

A Quiet Place has made going to the movies beautiful again. One group started talking and got 'shhhh'd' from the word go

Watching the first Taken, some teenager sitting directly behind me was talking loudly to his friends throughout (started almost halfway in). His voice would be louder during the action and when the noise settled he'd be twice as loud, as a result. Wasn't even talking about the movie, just stupid things in his dumb life. I politely asked him more than once to be quiet. He purposefully ignored me, acting like I was the nuisance. The third time I had enough (as did everyone around me), so I turned around fully in my seat, leaned towards his face, and angrily protested "Shut the FUCK up or I will break you over my knee!". He finally subsided. Though, I did learn a lesson that day, in that I should probably obtain management during a similar situation and not threaten people, especially under-age ones.
