How stubborn can you be CNET? Have you not read the comments on every "non-Cooley" car tech video ever created? Just admit that letting Cunningham and Goodwin do car tech videos was a bad idea and just cut both of them from the entire show. And for those of you who want to be wise-asses and say that "Cooley can't do every review", think about the fact that Cunningham and Goodwin didn't show up until about a year and a half ago, and car tech has been around since 2005, meaning that Cooley has had no issue with doing EVERY review since then. So all it is is CNET wanting to try something new, but they're failing miserably at it.
Well to be honest though, Cooley was a Senior Editor of Car Tech but now he is an Editor-at-Large which means he has much more responsibility, so I expect that he can't do EVERY review, but it seems like we're seeing Cunningham more lately... so I don't know if Cooley's busy schedule has anything to do with that..
Funny how he keeps repeating that its 5k for navigation. Instead, maybe tell us what those packages include in them? Would be more informative to tell me what is included in the premium package and then what is included in the tech package (apart from the navi). Surely, those packages include tons of cool upgrades.
I drove the whole LIne of Mercedes Benz in 2010, they are by far the best cars I have ever driven. The haven't driven the GLA, but they are not use to building front wheel cars as they do with the B class , CLA, and GLA. But they are masters in RWD cars.
I went to Mercedes website to build this model with the options that would make it seems like a "true luxury car" and it came to $42K. The options is what infuriates me the most about Mercedes dealer practices. My coworkers drive Kia Optimas and Ford Fusions with backup cameras and blue tooth tech as standard equipment on some models. I'm looking for a premium to luxury CUV but I will not get taken for a ride just for the badge.
Umm automated parking assist does NOT replace a backup camera. The purpose of a rear backup camera is just as the name says for BACKING UP to better visualize your surroundings like children who may be behind the car.
I'm sorry but you don't have to explain what Stop/Start is or what a dual clutch gear box is. Most of the people here watching these videos know their stuff about cars. I feel like Cunningham and Goodwin make videos for people who don't know much about cars, whereas Cooley actually knows about cars and is aware that his audience knows about cars too.
Ok so I'm 17 and I'm given a choice here should I get this car or the new Nissan Maxima I really want the Benz but I don't want to mess it up since it's my first year driving! Opinions?
its seems odd that the ride quality would not be that great. i drive an older c class, one from the time when it was considered to be the "baby benz" and I think it rides great. It is certainly not up to the quality the '13 ML I occasionally drive when i need its utility, but then again that is not nearly as fun to drive. I love sporty benzes. I know bmws will always be sportier but if I wanted the ultimate canyon carver, i would have gotten a 1 series. I like the refined speed and classy looks of MB
The GLA uses the same platform as the CLA, which has no relation to the C-class, aside from the people who make the car. The CLA has already gotten complaints about not feeling like a true Mercedes, which explains why the GLA feels as un-Mercedes-like as the CLA. The GLA and the CLA are definitely big letdowns for Mercedes enthusiasts.
Did someone say ripoff? People wonder why this car is 33k for a mercades. To get 1 of these things loaded is more than 45k. Just get a better mercades that has more stuff base.
I have driven the previous gen C class, GLK, and current gen SLK, and none of them have the supple ride quality I'd expect out of MB. Ok, so the SLK is supposed to be a sports car, but it isn't a good handling or nimble car so it doesn't really excel as a sports car either.
I'm sorry, but I've got to disagree with all the pros you listed. This thing is ugly and cheap. Definitely can tell that MB was doing a lot of cost cutting in this thing. Also, it most definitely is not practical, especially compared to its competitors. Review seemed to lack a lot of detail that Brian gives. (E.g., what major features are in the premium package or the multimedia package)
The GLA is basically a CLA wagon. It's just as un-Mercedes-like as it gets. The new C-class and S-class are the only two recent Mercedes redesigns that truly impress.
Nice white and gold Mercedes
no
Wait, its not blue & black?
oh, my monitor is not working, my mistake
Stop it, don't bring this here, i have had enough of this today.

Cooley should just make his own channel.
Technicaly, Cooley runs the show CNET ONCARS. So that's probably as close as he'll get to having his own channel.

Good review, but you didn't mention why you don't like the ride quality. Is it too stiff? Does it crash over bumps?
It is okay he has too high expectations.
How in the world do you not add the harman/kardon logic 7 premium sound system. It is one of the best sounding systems when the settings are correct.

No Cooley, no watch.

Star from Germany
no comment on that incredibly fat and very un mercedes bezel around the screen?
That screen-to-frame ratio is horrible.
Garzanberg Yeah, totally worth upgrading for a better screen. Would be cool if the guy would tell us what option we need to get that.
Is it like a wagon?

$5000 for sat nav (which probably sucks)? This is why Apple needs to get into this business. It's stagnated with little competition.

+Mess up the Maxima. A Mercedes does not deserve the abuse. Good luck kid.
+Mark G I agree I got the maxima thanks tho😂😂😂
wow what's the resolution on that screen, 320x240?
Another video that is 2 SHORT! Wtf
I really wish Cooley reviewed this car
Cmon guys, this isnt a host review
WHY! PORQUE! I've been looking forward to a review of the GLA250 from Brian so bad! 😭😭
Where is cooley?
Wow! Nice vehicle!
Seriously where the heck is Cooley?
Yeah where's Cooley!
Hi CNET if I just want a regular, normal car review I wouldn't come to you, I think you know what the problem is.
The tail lights on this are obnoxiously big to me
I can see some cooley in this video
He finally did a bit better in this one.
Brian Cooley is better get him back during car reviews all of them because he is the best #1 *****
I'd save at least $4000 and buy a Tomtom, or Garmin, or something. Then again, I'm not your typical Benz buyer.

Older Mercedes interface, it does look a bit cheap. About the same concept as a Venza
Brian must be on vacation 👀
Give me COOLEY or give me nothing at all
PLEASE BRING BACK COOLEY .
33k + 7k = will never make 43k
looks like a volvo xc... anybody see it? at least from the front?
Oh no here we go again all the complainers about not having Cooley...
come'n guys, give the non-cooley's a break
We want Cooley

this guy is absolutely clueless...
No rear view camera? Seriously?! That should be standard I have a base model civic and I have a rear view camera.

Weird car, with that money I´d better buy a C Class
This guy's boring.
He's good but the car is ugly.
naw i dont like the looks..
This bum again ?
This is the most ugly car I have ever seen Benz make.
No thank you not even in AMG form
