Disney's 1940 movie Fantasia comes to mind and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf comes to mind as well. There is a small small handful of animated movies about Slavic mythology and I agree I want there to be more
Chernobog and Belibog are just additional titles for Perun and Veles not 2 separate gods that's mistake made by non-Slavic scholars that either made a mistake by counting 2 more gods or did it on purpose for what ever reason Because when you look and compare Perun-Belinog and Chernobog-Veles you realize they are the same entities
I am very happy that someone is interested in Slavian (not only Greek art Roman) mythology, what is more, you have made a cartoon. Nice. If you don't mind, I would suggest some verification on the theme. You see, there was no goddess Kupala. The best known version is that the name comes from the word "kąpać" which means "to take a bath". That makes perfect sense for this holiday, the beginning of spring, new life. The water creatures get weeker and cannot hurt you anymore. I assume it was an explanation for water conditions in this period of the year. This is also our Valentines Day, that is why girls leave a wreath of flowers on the water for some boy to cach it. This is the entire bunch of customs on this holiday. Also, in some regions (like mine) Czarnobóg and Białoboga are w man and a woman like Yin and Yang. Gods in mythologies, in general, were neither good nor bed (exept Zeus and Hera, representing pure pathological merrige and behaviours). They were a personification of a nature etc. Marzanna and Dziewanna are considered to be 2 different goddesses (not everywhere). Summarising, thanks again for making this movie since this is my culture. I would just suggest slight correction. :) You are more than welcome to visit this site of the world and try these holidays on your own. Super fun.
They look great, but do take some big artistic liberties on historical myths.. For example, in this one, the God of thunder has too much of a pop Thor look about his headgear, for no good reason.
Since I started watched kupala the goddess of happiness I’ve looked more into Slavic gods I’m gonna love this especially since it’s all by Marcus Aquino ❤
And there are still a lot of Ancient Slavic Pagan festivals being practiced in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus every Springtime like the wickerman burning, Signaling the defeat of winter.
I hope soon you could do a video over Celtic mythology. I know over time, it has have somewhat of a Christian influence, but hearing different facts about The Morrigan and many others in that mythology is so intresting to me. Great job on this video and the many others like this :)

nice video. but some inaccurate data is here...Rod is chief god of slavic pantheon hence there are many words in slavic languages which have rod as root, prefix or suffix.Svarog had his Svarožići,2 sons,Svarožić was sun god and Mjesec(Moon, and in south slavic countries it is the name of Moon,we call it that way) moon god. but Jarilo(Perun`s son)was not mentioned here and Danica too...Star Danica/Daily would be most close translation(which is northern star,Venus) Perun is most popular god and often thought of as supreme deity and he wields ax and sword and is traveling in carriage pulled by male goat. also he is accompanied by huge eagle. even today you can find Thunder signs tattoos among slavs(they were often on houses too)...attributed to Perun as sign of protection of thunder strikes but also flower of life and necklaces with Perun`s ax. the heraldics and swastika of slavs is also very popular. and there are huge number of mythological creatures...to name a few,Baba Yaga(which who lives in house on chicken legs, house can move on its own and she eats children),Vodonoy(creature that is atributed with waters and will lure you to water and drown you), werewolves, vampires(the very word vampir is coming from Serbia),fairies, dragons and so on...

Theres one story i like is that one day Belobog finnaly killed Chernobog in of there duels. This however destroyed the balance of the universe. They aren’t actually rather, the Greek gods, the Norse gods, the Slavic gods the Hindu gods, every people from Spain to India had an ancient religion that was all very closely related because they were. They all originated from the Indo-Europeans who spread their language, and religion everywhere they went. Look into it, it’s interesting stuff
Its odd how there's a three headed god/goddess in a lot of mythologies/religions like greeks have Hecate, hindus have brahma and then the norse have triglav!
@@megaflux7144 so you think that there is mythologies that dont borrow elements from other mythologies? please do some research i dont say this as an insult but please do
@@SirCapyTheSecondwell European mythologies obviously borrow thing but. You can make the same argument for people in different parts of the world. Like comparing Mayans to the Norse. So you can’t say every religion borrows from another. But you can say that for regions.

So it's still a question of who was the first. Rather, it is a mixture of everything, changing from place to place.
