I was ganna say at least with the "deep sea fishing" you can still be honest and just say it was a cool experience even if you didn't do anything but reel in the fish. He doesn't have to stop himself from getting too in-detail, he doesn't go off on tangents about specific topics, he doesn't highlight the cool interactions of his build. He's literally only taking a surface-level look at the text on his screen as he reads it and regurgitates it for the viewer. Take a look at how he talks about manufacturing stuff. He knows what has been talked about in board meetings and little more. If you asked him how a specific part of the rocket reacts to thermal energy and how it deals with it and why specifically it is designed like that and made from that specific material and how it is manufactured in the first place you'd get no freaking answer.

Stolen valor is about stealing the respect of a community for personal gain. It may not be "valorous" to play a game, but there are people who put a lot of time and effort into their accounts and are proud of it. This gathers the respect of their peers and extended community. Pretending like you have made those same accomplishments is stealing the valor and grossly belittling the experiences of those who truly deserve it. I have 3 characters 75-82 and it’s probably about the same amount of time to get one character up to this level. When Elon called the map modifiers “4 things” and I instantly recognized even on a 2 inch screen it looked like a breech, a delirium, etc… like someone who had done at this point hundreds and hundreds of maps would know the modifiers.
you are indeed a veteran compare to this, being able to reach map means you have at least 50 hours in the campaign (could be less if you already played the first game) and you would have developed some good muscle memories and playing the game efficiently. mister musk on the other hand, i bet my left cheek hes not even past act 2 yet if he actually play the game like a legit player.

Whether it was Elon or some dude in Asia someone got that account to the point its at, its not like they're cheating items into the game or anything. The only questionable thing is if multiple people contribute significantly to a single account. That and people turning playing the game into a job may hurt the more casual side of the community, but then you should be against streamers playing the game on stream. Buying/selling accounts is one of those things that sounds like it should be a bannable offense, but when I really think about it I couldn't tell you why it seems that way.

The reason his diablo character seems more legit is the complexity of poe2. It's way easier to tell with poe2 when someone hasn't played hundreds of hours.
I think the complexity of PoE is precisely why he wanted to appear exceptional at it. We know he watches or has watched Asmongold, and Asmon has said more than once that the game Elon actually has played (D4) is for (and I’m paraphrasing now) dumb people, while PoE is for smart people. Take a look at how he talks about manufacturing stuff. He knows what has been talked about in board meetings and little more. Hello, former Quake esports pro here. Elon Musk also claimed he was arguably the best Quake player in the world very publicly. However, he was nowhere to be found in the Quake 1, 2 or 3 competitive scene that any of us ever witnessed.
He could be extremely good at chess but that game is just too easy so he abandoned that

Stolen valor is about stealing the respect of a community for personal gain. It may not be "valorous" to play a game, but there are people who put a lot of time and effort into their accounts and are proud of it. This gathers the respect of their peers and extended community. Pretending like you have made those same accomplishments is stealing the valor and grossly belittling the experiences of those who truly deserve it. As an 18 year army vet, I fully support the PoE community calling this stolen valor... Because it clearly is.

I have 3 characters 75-82 and it’s probably about the same amount of time to get one character up to this level.
When Elon called the map modifiers “4 things” and I instantly recognized even on a 2 inch screen it looked like a breech, a delirium, etc… like someone who had done at this point hundreds and hundreds of maps would know the modifiers.
you are indeed a veteran compare to this, being able to reach map means you have at least 50 hours in the campaign (could be less if you already played the first game) and you would have developed some good muscle memories and playing the game efficiently.

Whether it was Elon or some dude in Asia someone got that account to the point its at, its not like they're cheating items into the game or anything. The only questionable thing is if multiple people contribute significantly to a single account. That and people turning playing the game into a job may hurt the more casual side of the community, but then you should be against streamers playing the game on stream.
Buying/selling accounts is one of those things that sounds like it should be a bannable offense, but when I really think about it I couldn't tell you why it seems that way.

The reason his diablo character seems more legit is the complexity of poe2. It's way easier to tell with poe2 when someone hasn't played hundreds of hours.
I think the complexity of PoE is precisely why he wanted to appear exceptional at it.

Elon is totally playing this account ever waking moment, while also (not) raising his kids, (not) running 3 massive companies and tweeting 100's of times a day. Dude is so invested in POE2 he turned himself into a real life Chronomancer.
Also the funniest thing nobody mentions about "Elon's map" tab is he's never played POE1, so why would he know to call them maps? They're Waystones in POE2.

Intelligent ADD on the spectrum types tend to hyper task switch. Meaning they’ll find something that interests them & go unbelievably hard at it. When they begin to lose interest they’ll switch to something else. Very plausible that Elon nerds out on a game for a week then switches back to rocketry or whatever. Also explains his polymath (knows a lot about a wide array of topics).
Having said all that, this vid seems to indicate that he’s getting help in this instance.
@@Micloren I think the point of the original comment is that Elon never played PoE1 and has said he never played PoE1. So why would he name them "Maps" when they've only been named Map in PoE1? It hints that whoever played on this account was a long-time PoE1 player.
It would make infinitely more sense if he named them Elon's Waystones as that is what they're called in PoE2, which is the only PoE he has played.

For a guy that's supposedly really smart, it is pretty stupid to think that he though he could pass as a 1% of a "speciality" he has no high amounts of experience with, for him to think that he can just log in into a boosted character and make everyone believe he's done it all the way there is absolutely buffling to me. I'm doubting everything now, every person that has come close to reaching a high level of expertise knows the huge gap in knowledge and capabilities required to hit the peak on a field. This is just sad. As Kripp and Quin said everyone would be impressed by Elon playing through the campaign at his own pace it would be also more impressive and entretaining that seen left clicks on a stat stacker, even if he sucked...
For him to lie on something as inconsequential as his abilities on a videogame for no reason other than to look good tells a lot about his character, I though he was just an smart dude with a lot of money dipping into the memes from time to time, but this kind of stuff is pretty telling I wouldn't make business with a person that lies on something as pity as this...

I’ve never played this game, but as a life-long gamer I can say that paying someone to play for you & then pretending you’re great at a game is the most loser shit I’ve ever seen. What a fraud.
Its sort of fascinating that a guy this rich has these weird insecurities. He feels like he needs to be part of the new big ARPG. And he feels like he cant be a casual player enjoying the game, he needs to be a top ranked hardcore player.
Personally I feel like if I ever got a billion dollars, let alone multiple, id spend my days traveling with my friends and getting into new stuff. Like buying some horses to ride, getting tired of that and then getting into fishing. Going to fish in all the cool lakes in the world sort of stuff.
