Democrats voted down a bill for the second year, that sought to ban homeless encampments near schools, transit stops and other areas throughout California.
They dont want this problem to be fixed. If its fixed then they stop being able to launder money. The homeless and drug problems make billions of dollars.
Don't listen to partisan hacks who always side with the path of least resistance. Government corruption speaks for itself and the money trails never lie.
This is why I don't use a bus or go to the public library in California. I saw homeless people completely took over a lot of covered bus stops, now even the bus stops in otherwise nice suburbs because they are covered, and they are nice. I went to a public library once and after I saw a mentally ill homeless man coming out from the women's bathroom, I never returned. California has been getting worse day by day since I arrived. It's so very sad to see this bill getting killed. So very disappointing.
California already spent 20-40 BILLION on the issue. That was enough to build legitimate shelters with rooms for every single homeless person, 100 times over. I believe Gavin Newsom should be jailed for criminal negligence. 20 billion dollars was more than enough to solve this
Homeless BAN? They created this issue. They let out criminals early, they decriminalized drugs, they decriminalized prostitution, they wont FIGHT Against Fentanyl, some how it keeps coming into CA, and being shipped all over the USA. California democratic legislatures are the real criminals they are Ruining California. Through all the legislature. Affordable Housing isnt even the tip of the Iceberg.
Well its literally unconstitutional, so its a moot point. You can't ban people from being homeless. Its only a matter of time before San Diego settles a lawsuit over its laws. This is actually what we need. Housing prices simply can't continue as they are, unless corporations cone together and give everyone a 30-50% raise across the board.
Ah, the place where bills go to die strikes again. Hence statutory still isn't a felony in Cali with the repeated attempts to make it so negated. What they need to is introduce legislation to remove the Public Safety Committee's ability to negate the will of the voters. I would dare them to try to negate a bill like that.
We don't even have effective and transparent point in time counts. The data does exist - local agency Alpha Project keeps their own numbers pretty well. We have no rules or reporting requirements as of now. Money is spent willy nilly and nobody knows where it goes. Shelters and "safe camping sites" and safe in name only because they are places where there is no police or police law enforcement being followed. It's his we create our own ghettos.
Making it illegal to be homeless will do NOTHING to solve the homeless problem. If San Diego arrested all the homeless people for being homeless, it would cost the taxpayers ~ $25,000 - $50,000 a year just to incarcerate each person. But at least they would then have a roof over their heads, 3 meals a day, a bathroom, medical care, education opportunities and the most amazing security system.
Homelessness is deliberate and nobody is doing anything about it. Local charities are corrupt. Zero rules or law enforcement at all the homeless shelters and homeless sites. Then people want to put the homeless through forced medical treatment and drug addiction treatment. Both of those ideas are long due obsolete and Defunct. People don't choose homelessness and those are not the appropriate programs. People need wartime doctors and trauma therapies. But mostly the law should be enforced everywhere and law enforcement should be present anywhere no matter what.

What a ridiculous conspiracy theory. Did Q tell you that?
Don't listen to partisan hacks who always side with the path of least resistance. Government corruption speaks for itself and the money trails never lie.
This is actually true. 218 million dollars we're spent since 2020 with zero receipts transparency or accountability for that money of any kind.
Never let a good crisis go to waste

Homeless encampments bring down housing prices, looks like a win win to me.

I'd stay away from public transportation, that how you risk fentanyl exposure

Camping city is crazy.
I agree. But housing prices are even crazier.

So if I'm homeless with no money, phone, ect how am I suppose to know when beds at the local shelter are available?
