I watched the documentary on this man's life and I was both appauled and saddened at the same time. What is it that they say about 'the sins of the father being visited on the son'. Sykes' father comes across as a pitiful, genial old man, but to my mind it was his brutal treatment of his son that had a profound and catastrophic effect on Paul Sykes life. Sykes was an undoubtedly bright man; imagine what he might have amounted to with a lot less violence and discipline and a bit more love and compassion and positive guidance. The sad truth is that there are many men like Paul Sykes in this country today who think it's great to create sons after their own image. Sykes had two sons and both are serving long sentances for murder. Sad.

Dennis is one of the bits I love best about this video, I wait for him to come on, I have found myself saying {out loud} Did you get your wages, did you get your wages like Dennis does and several other catchphrases from this video. The way he tries to show off about being abroad for 3 months is priceless and when the camera pans back to reveal that desk ALWAYS still shocks me. This video has more bad taste than anything I have ever seen in one place, the 2 club singers {one is definitely a bloke} , the beautiful wedding and the instructions on what to do with sharks is simply wonderful.
