Awesome I have been looking for something like this ! I currently use sports bras.... because I have found other binders but I'm not the smallest person and the other one I wanted didnt come in my size. I heard about underworks and wasn't sure which one to get but now I'm sure I want the 983 thank you so much !
YES! in december of last year i bought my first ever binder, and i chose the 997 from underworks, so i could "hide" all my excess skin (hey - i'll trade that tmi for your ibs tmi, okay? *lol*) i have from having gastric bypass surgery - i've lost 100 lbs, so... sweet buddha - how did i ever live before i started wearing a binder??? i feel SO much more comfortable and "authentic"... great review, finn! take care, simon
I very much agree with you about Underworks being the way to go, but T-kingdom being a life-saver in emergencies. I remember being really annoyed when I got my first binder (which was a T-kingdom one) but now I'm really glad that I didn't get rid of it when I replaced it with an Underworks one, as it really comes in handy if, as you say, you have to stay overnight at a friend's/be on an overnight bus or something like that.
No worries fella! They are kinda mesh, made of mostly nylon. I have really sensitive skin & they have never iritated me, other than where they cut in around the arms after a full day use. You'd have great trouble getting a tshirt on underneath but none of these binders could ever slip around anyway, sometimes I need to reajust after a few hours but things hardly move at all. Both the 988 vest & the 983 tri top are fantastic. I promise, you'll never look at another binder once youve tried these!
This is so insanely helpful!! I have a GC2B binder and it has stretched so much that it now causes me only more dysphoria rather than helps with it :( Finally got money for a new binder so I'm definitely going for one from Underworks!
Hi Simon, thanks for your comments :) I have no idea how I ever lived without a binder! Its a wonderful feeling, authentic as you say. Congrats on the weight loss mate, thats a fantastic achievment!
I've got the 997 and I'm definitely not a skinny person so I like that it squashes my hips and belly and makes me flat and skinnier, but I also had trouble with it giving me squits if I wore it too long and ate anything meal sized.
I have the 997 and I had the same problem with my stomach getting upset - I just ordered a strapless binder so we'll see how that goes. If not, I think I'll try the tri-top. I agree with sizing down if you're on the cusp - I got a large in the 997 and it's gotten loose at the neckline and doesn't bind as well as I would like.
I'm not sure if anyone's already commented this, but you can cut the bottom off the 997 (double front) to make it the same length as the tritop without it fraying at all which might help your IBS. That works for me, except I've outgrown mine a little so it gets painfully tight after a few hours.
hey mate, Ive had this one about 9 months I think? The very bottom seem flips over sometimes, but only slightly and its not uncomfortable. Maybe its because yours is older and has lost some of its tightness???
Gosh, I almost forgot about the discount code when I looked at my mail before I finished filling out the address form. Whew! / Yeah, I forget to have the right glasses on too. You saved me again, Mr. Finn!
Hi there! Sorry only just seen your comment, it does sometimes roll up but only very slightly and it doesnt show. Mine has never got baggy when wearing!
Hi there! The best thing you can do, is to have a look on the underworks website....in the FTM section that have a measuring guide which tells you exactly which size to buy. Thats what I did and every binder I have bought has fitted me perfectly :)
xD Great review, Underworks is def my go to binder! I used the same as you 998. I liked it but yes, it's really hot. Great critiques about using polyester material!
Hi mate, I went with the small. Id say it depends on your hip size really as you have to step into the binder and pull it up. If you have big hips and you are on the cusp between the small and medium then Id go with the medium. If you have regular or small hips like me, then Id go with the small. Hope that helps!
Glad I found this video! Was just about to buy either the 988 or a newer one "MagiCotton Extreme Chest Binder Tank", but I think now I'll go for the Tri-Top one, especially since you said the full vest 988 was rather thick and warm. Thanks so much!
FinnTheInfinncible It actually just arrived today, and upon trying it on I found the material really scratched at and irritated around my arms - how have you found it to be in that respect? I'm not sure now whether to keep it and hope it turns out all right, or stick with my old binder (has side hooks, and that part would get sore quickly)
They all bite a bit around the arms, l did find the scratch went out of the material a bit after wearing a few times tho. Some guys wear a thin t shirt under it to help with that, l just got used to it after a while
Cheers mate! I listen to this now and cant remember ever sounding like that! Its amazing how much has changed. Im so glad that I decided to vlog all this because it gives me a sense of perspective when times are rough!
This was very helpfull to me. I've been struggling with dysphoria over my chest for a while now and I'm currently using sports bras but that hasn't been enough so I was looking for a binder. After I looked at some from underworks I wanted to see some reviews and came across this video and it helped me very much. To get a video review of someone talking about it in detail! I've decied to buy the 983 (if my mom is okay with it since I'm underage and can't buy stuff myself). So thank you for making this video, even though this was about 3 years ago hehe. Hope you're doing well :)
ah I'm so glad to help! yes this vlog is old now but the models are pretty much the same. the good thing now is that they sell them in packs which saves money if you intend to buy more than one. I swore by underworks and my partner does too. enjoy the new freedom it will give you my friend!
hey there, glad the review was helpful :). My pendant is a combination of the AA symbol and the celtic triskele. The AA triangle in the circle represents unity service and recovery, the triskele represents mind body and spirit :) Thats awesome that you found a ring with it on, Id like that!
Loved this video! I'm not FTM but I'm looking for a binder and your review was amazing. I'm not looking for something to bind super well but that would flatten my chest.
Hey man, the easiest way is to turn it upside down holding it by the bottom with the straps facing the floor, make sure the thick front pannel is facing the front away from you. then step into it, putting your legs through the neck hole, pull it up by the bottom as far up as you can, then grab the sholder straps and pull it up the rest of your body so it folds over itself. then slide your arms in and adjust moobs accordingly :) Does that make sense? there are some vids about of people doing this
Hiya :) I dont know my exact size, I used sports bra before binding too, Im around a 34/36B so a fair bit smaller than you. Binding is uncomfortable, there is no way around that unfortunately, but you do get used to it. I know larger guys use underworks and they flatten them well. Some larger chested guys use the binders that do up with velcro or zips.
Stumbled across this vid whilst researching, and it was very helpful! I had reduction surgery done (unfortunately a full removal wouldn't be covered by healthcare for me, and I'm too poor lol), but the surgery still left me with far too much. :( I was looking for something to bind properly with, and after watching your vid I've ordered both the 983 and the 988 for colder days! Thanks so much for the advice!
Thank you for doing this review I was curious about the differences between them. I think the tri top will be a great summer binder and I might actually get the full compression tank for winter. Not entirely sure yet.
Wow, you have lots of binders dude, now I'm jealous xD I thought about going for the 988 model, but since you said it is too hot and here in my country is always hot I think I'm gonna go for the tri-top one when I can afford it. Thanks for the video, it was great!
lol! They do tend to get loose over time, which is why I have a fair few! Also, part of the trial and error of finding the right one can mean you end up with a few! The tri top served me very very well, def the best option in my opinion! Glad to help :)
The pendant/choker about your neck, Im curious what the triangel in the circle is? - as i found a vintage ring with the same symbol, but could find any info on it. Thanks. Your vid is the most imformative reveiw thus far.
I highly recommend looking into GC2B binders. They have higher necklines, are made silky, "swimsuit' material, and are more comfortable. They fix pretty much all of the problems you addressed with underworks.
Thats the trouble with pull up binders, if you are very pear shaped, you need a bigger binder to get over them hips!. Sounds like you should be fine with a medium though if your chest is very small
Lmao! Im glad inbetween unicorn tears it helped :) It is hard when you buy these things....its so hit and miss as what works well for one often doesnt work quite as well for another. Saying that though, you really cant go wrong with underworks, so many guys use them and I love everyone i bought from them. BTW, it works out cheaper getting it straight from underworks rather than through amazon!
Hiya! is he a slim guy? I know larger guts have an issue with it rolling up but I dont. if Ive eaten too much then it does lol! occasionally the bottom hem turns up a bit but it doesnt roll, its the best binder Ive used to date. Wish him luck from me!
Oldie but a goodie. Great point re: material! I experienced the same thing with the materials sort of attaching to each other and not hanging naturally. And wicking non existent! Hot ... and summer on the way.
Hey Finn! Great binder review...just what I needed! Do any of the non-cotton binders bother your skin? Are they mesh? Sometimes, I feel like I have to wear a t-shirt under the binder & that it will slip around if I don't. Do you have any problems with those binders? / I too have IBS issues, so the #988 sounds great for me. / I'm with ya on the velcro...too noisy and was always afraid it would pop open. Also, only like crew neck shirts, as well. Don't want any cleavage starin' back at me! Thxs!!!
Hey Finn, I bought the Underworks Extreme Tri-Top Chest Binder Tank Top off amazon a while back and I think in Underworks terms it's the 983. Anyway, I measured myself and I felt the medium would be too big but I was at the top end of the small measurements. However, I haven't been able to get it on? My shoulders are really broad so that may be the problem but I was wondering, do you have any tips on getting your binder on? Cheers :)
Ok! So I'm watching this video and, since I too hate how low cut the 988 is, I figure what the hell ill put it on backwards. Damn if it doesn't lay at a normal shirt line and help with the armpit bit at the same time!!!
I'm really self concious and I'm afraid that wearing certain binders will make my stomach stick out.. I don't have a big stomach, but I'm really anxious about it. Does that full length compression binder hide your stomach? Because I worry about the binders that come to the mid section making my hips and my stomach stick out. Any advice?
Heyy. Thanks a bunch for the very helpful video. I have a question i hope you can answer or if anyone knows. The underworks binder the tri top does give a rash in the under arms. What have you done to fix it or avoid it. You mentioned sizing but the one i have its the correct size the only problem its in the pits. I really hope to hear back. ✌🏼
Hey ik its 2020 now but im am a B cup and i use the model 943 it works wonders and its cheaper then the other half length binder in this vid i hope this helps
You looked roughly the same pre-T! Small Dad. Just shows what the magic of hormones can do for you. You have a very nice facial structure and T definitely helped that. The binder explanations really help. Doubt if I would ever wear one though. It just seems too much of a hassle and I still have the random popping of ribs from time to time from wearing sports bras everyday, all day for a year or so. I just learned to ignore it until I get really bad days. But the material of binders and how tight they hold the body in was never really fully explained in other references.
I'm happy you reviewed the tri top. I just bought it not to long ago and I was worried that it wouldn't bind all too well seeing as how I'm a smaller chested guy and most of the reviewed I have seen are from larger chested guys. A lot of people said that cotton was better for binding but the tri top was cheaper and it seems to be highly recommended soooo yeah. I might get the 988 binder for colder temperatures. . . So, how long did it take for you to get your binders? I just ordered my first Underworks binder on Saturday or very early Sunday I believe and it says that it is still processing my order.
Hi! Thanks for the video. I decided to buy the tri-top, but I'm unsure what size to buy. XS is 71-76cm and S is 79-84cm and my chest is about 78cm. I don't want it to restrict breathing or hurt me, but I also don't want it not to bind. Do you know if they are a bit smaller or larger than the sizing?
Hi mate, l was often in the inbetween measurements too and l always went with the smaller binder. It didmt restrict too much and they stretch over time anyway. I'd say at 78 cm yr fine to go with an xs. However, as you have to pull it on over your hips, if you have large hips l would go with the S. hope that helps!!!
FinnTheInfinncible I'm really small and quite scrawny, too, so I went with XS. Thanks for your help :) Unfortunately, the discount code doesn't work anymore (neither any other codes I found online)
FinnTheInfinncible I never really had to do the hip thing, I tried but I'm a big guy and my hips are too wide compared to my waist, like a ten inch difference though it has gotten down since I started T. I have the 988 and I just pull it over my head it gets stuck at the clavicle and under the armpits but you can just pull it down, I use olive oil as a moisturizer, so that helps quite a bit.
Haha it's not perfect but def something to try. The neck comes up to a normal shirt neck but the binder material is a little thick but if you can get used to that it works well :)
i just ordered the 997 should get it tomorrow now I'm in high school and I'm scared I can't get it on when I get it and have to get one bigger okay have you ever had to send one back ?? How long did it take ? Should I just buy a new one ?? Cause I live in Tennessee and the shipping was more than the binder I don't under stand !!!!
Hi mate, you really shouldnt bind when doing exercise as it limits your ability to breathe. However, I do bind when exercising but I use my very old and much looser binder so that it does hide the moobs a bit, but allows me to breathe. I just wear a loose t shirt on top.
Hey mate, binding does make it hard to breathe, and thats not good when your active! I have an old underworks that has stretched and is looser and I use that for exercise, and then put a baggy top over it to help hide the moobs. In all honesty, you shouldnt wear a binder when being very active, as you really cant breathe....but I just wouldnt manage to exercise at all if i didnt wear somethin....so I compromise and go with a loose one :)
how long have you used the tri-top now? I've binded with one for about 2 years and after some time the material at the bottom of the binder starts to curl up under your clothes. It's quite uncomfortable
Good job I read that with my glasses on.... :P Glad to help my friend, make sure to measure yrself correctly using the guide they provide, and dont forget to use the discount code. :D
I cant remember mate, but you cant tell what size I am from the vid! There is a guide on their website for size, measure yourself using that guide in order to get the right fit
I orderd my binder a few days ago, and today it finally came. I was super nervos but also happy - however it was not like i wanted it to be. I put it on, and insted of having a flat chest - i still had a bump...it just looked it had smaller chest - but not a flat chest. Now im an emotional wreck, i cryed soo mutch...i really don't know waht to do....just send it back, and order a new one ? But waht if that one is really to small!? I just.....hjjvtilggjkl....
Hey bud, I got my own binder, and I'm in the same situation. I would keep the one you got, maybe use it as a back up and whenever you get another use that. One thing I've noticed is that binders dont always flatten sadly but Do make you more masculine shaped. Realizing the fact I feel and look more masculine shaped has helped me a bunch, but overall I cant help out too much. Love you, glad to know theres people like me out here. Good luck with everything.
First of all great vid ! May i ask what youd recomend to be best for fat compresion ? I have gymecomastia (man boobs ) and im just a bit overweight. What would be the best "fat" hider ?
Hi mate, cheers! Underworks do a fantastic range of both compression vests and compression suits that are designed to slim the look of the body. Even the longer compression vest that I used would help in terms of holding in your tummy.
hello im genderfluid so i would only wear a binder when i feel more like a guy and ive been feeling more like one lately so im trying to get my first but im afraid to get the wrong size. i know how to measure but how do i know its right on underworks
hi my friend, underworks have changed slightly since I used them. There should be a link on their site that shows you how to measure yourself specifically for their binders
i know that this video is old, but i stumbled upon it while searching for my first binder. im so grateful for videos like this, no matter how old
I appreciate your comment so very much, thank you! I'm so very glad this is helpful 🙏
Oh yes indeedy! I take mine in my bag whenever Im staying anywhere but my house, has saved me sooooo many times for speed of hiding the moobs!!!
Awesome I have been looking for something like this ! I currently use sports bras.... because I have found other binders but I'm not the smallest person and the other one I wanted didnt come in my size. YES!
in december of last year i bought my first ever binder, and i chose the 997 from underworks, so i could "hide" all my excess skin (hey - i'll trade that tmi for your ibs tmi, okay? *lol*) i have from having gastric bypass surgery - i've lost 100 lbs, so...
sweet buddha - how did i ever live before i started wearing a binder???
i feel SO much more comfortable and "authentic"...
great review, finn!
take care,simon
I was leaning towards the 997 and I hadn't thought about it pressing on my stomach too much, so thank you for probably saving me from a lot of pain.
"The binder dance", that feel.
+Jarvis Sapphire oh yes! I do not miss that dance!!!
This video is how I found my favorite binder, I use the 983 now and it works perfectly!
i ordered the 983 and i'm super excited!
Enjoy!

Hi Simon, thanks for your comments :) I have no idea how I ever lived without a binder! Its a wonderful feeling, authentic as you say. Congrats on the weight loss mate, thats a fantastic achievment!
Your video was really helpful and it's amazing that you're putting so much effort into helping others thank you so much
Thank you so much. That's so kind!!!

Nice to know about the IBS. as a fellow sufferer I would NOT want to deal with that.

Brilliant! I honestly loved underworks!
really??? Well omg Im trying that in the morning!!!!!!! You madman! love it...will let you know!
After Watching this video I Watched one of your 2014 videos, your voice sounds incredible and has changed sooo much. Good luck in the future! ^.^
Cheers mate! I listen to this now and cant remember ever sounding like that! Its amazing how much has changed. Im so glad that I decided to vlog all this because it gives me a sense of perspective when times are rough!

Glad you like the vid :) Underworks are definately the best for flattening the chest, I used to swear by them!

Glad it helped, thanks for letting me know!
Thank you for doing this review I was curious about the differences between them. I think the tri top will be a great summer binder and I might actually get the full compression tank for winter. Not entirely sure yet.

The pendant/choker about your neck, Im curious what the triangel in the circle is? - as i found a vintage ring with the same symbol, but could find any info on it. Thanks. Your vid is the most imformative reveiw thus far.

+Earl Cornbread They have now drastically improved their material, their is even a soft version now!
My pleasure! Glad it helped :)
hello thank you for all the great tips my partner is starting to bind and is worried that the shorter ones roll up do you find this at all
Hey Finn! Great binder review...just what I needed! Do any of the non-cotton binders bother your skin? Are they mesh? Awesome! Its only 10 % but its worth it!!! :D I look forward to hearing how you get on with it.
Cheers :)
Hey mate, thanks for that. Yes I did cut the bottom off....but made a right mess of it lmao!!!
Ok! So I'm watching this video and, since I too hate how low cut the 988 is, I figure what the hell ill put it on backwards. Damn if it doesn't lay at a normal shirt line and help with the armpit bit at the same time!!!
Hi fin I was wondering do I get a small or a medium size on the underworld 997? I'm 34c and have a little bit if a belly
Thanks for letting us know!
This is likely too late now sorry! Took a couple of weeks for delivery, hope you have yours now!
Thanks for your help :)
Unfortunately, the discount code doesn't work anymore (neither any other codes I found online)
Sorry for the late reply. Hope you have it sorted now?
I have a question... Can you take gym class while wearing the 997?
how long have you used the tri-top now? I've binded with one for about 2 years and after some time the material at the bottom of the binder starts to curl up under your clothes. It's quite uncomfortable
I just got the 983 I think but it doesn't bind as well :/ any advice? Maybe it's not the right size
+Jaymz Baker you may well need a smaller one
Brilliant!! Glad to have helped!!!
Good job I read that with my glasses on.... :P Glad to help my friend, make sure to measure yrself correctly using the guide they provide, and dont forget to use the discount code. :D
What size were you wearing here?? I want to make sure I get the right size and you look about the same size as I am.
I cant remember mate, but you cant tell what size I am from the vid! There is a guide on their website for size, measure yourself using that guide in order to get the right fit
This might sound stupid, but where exactly can you enter coupon codes? I can't find the box D:
Ive not bought from them for a while but there should be a box at the final payment stage that says add discount code
I am not a trans guy. But i have fat depsoition in my chest part somewhat like gynaecomastia. Can binders help hide it?
Omg its from 2013
Lol yes it is an old vlog, but yes, binders were designed exactly for that reason and I highly recommend underworks :)
@@FinnTheInfinncible thank u
Thank you so much. This was very helpful
Really thank you best video I've seen
It's the good the binder underwork ?
Yes they are a great company and the binders are amazing
@@FinnTheInfinncible hmm thanks
Very helpful. Great job.
Good luck with everything.
this was so helpful! Thank you
My pleasure, glad to help!
988 is awesome! I wear one day and night! The 997 was awful :(
Awesome, so glad it helped! :)
Ah thank you! :D Glad it helped :D
Tysm for this video 💖
You're so welcome!
Excellent!! I'm gettin' online asap! You're a brick, as my mother would have said! Thank you!
That hits the tipi
Thank you! :)
Cool, thanks!
I think I'm gonna get the tri top Binder.
Also same name xD

Zach R. C. No, the binder compresses your chest too much
Thats quite an achievement!! :D
