i had a tribunal last year! i wasnt informed when it was taking place for to to attend,i wasnt informed it had taken place until i finally rang them to see what was going on and only then was i informed it had taken place 8 weeks previously and i was unsuccessful in the appeal , she also told that i was informed by letter and email about the outcome which i had not, since first applying 5 years ago my health problems have more than doubled, universal credit has convinced me to try again now, i have no hope at all of receiving anything tho ! what gets me the most is my problems are all work related after 43 years as a bricklayer, not a rich one by the way!
Sorry to hear how badly you've been treated. I doubt you being at the tribunal would have altered the result because I had a tribunal about my rejected claim for DLA and it still got rejected on physical health grounds despite the fact that my claim was on mental health grounds and there was a supposed mental health sufferer on the panel.
Within a week of sending my application form, I received a text message to confirm receipt. About 6 weeks later I received a letter saying that they hadn’t received my forms. I chose to ignore it, the following week I got a text message confirming my pip phone interview. It’s my belief they do this to to test your ability to interpret read and react to complex information
They took my mobility off me, the assessor from capita asked me to answer her on my good days, because i couldn't answer her questions apart from i can't do anything for myself when my condition effects me, I've asked for a mandatory appeal, stating the fact i feel it's unfair to judge my disability on my good days, even on good days i need aid to walk and in constant pain, it's disgusting to jump through loops to get what rightfully I'm entitled to, they even have doctors and cardiology reports 🤷
I think a lot of us can understand the anger and frustration of this guy. Especially those of us that already suffer mentally. It's just so horrible that there is zero help to support us. Hope everything goes well for everyone trying to deal with these idiots.
Its just because you sent it fairly close to the date...their prompt letters are completely automated. If you send your form within a week of your return date you will end up getting one of thise reminder letters.
i received PIP (enhanced for both) for the past 8+ years. Had my Review recently (inc a 15 minute phone "assessment) received my "award" and the reduced one point of my daily living which means i only get 11 instead of my previous 12
If they wanted to cut your benefit..they’d just do it, the fact that they went out of their way to send a text message, a photo AND letter to check up on you, shows they have your best interests in mind. It’s unfortunate, things get lost but these things happen.
They have had mine since the 1st Sept 2023 and all i get from them is the text message saying "We still have your PIP form and will be progressing your review as soon as we can" etc. They're too busy prioritising the illegal immigrants to get get our claims done quickly. Dynamic Duo UK on RUclips has covered this in one of their videos. The video is titled "Startling Email from a DWP PIP Assessor ... Again"
It looks like it could be a similar set up to hmrc where it goes to a processing centre, where it is scanned onto a computer. It dosnt actually go to the person assessing you.
I'm sure this is a system-generated letter that's produced when the form return isn't logged into the system promptly. Most letters from major organisations, including the DWP, are system-generated. The only exception is decision letters, where the decision maker provides their reasoning.
The DWP are complete utter bastards but I still can't make up my mind whether they're incompetent or corrupt. Have you chased them up about your dad's call yet?
@theabyssalvault4238 well we've told them no he didn't get a call... I'm not sure what is happening right now. I need to ask if they ever rearranged it.
I sent my letter in and if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck usually. I always used to send every letter I had to DWP by tracked mail/return receipt. The last time I sent the letter in it was close to the wire of the expiry date and I was terrified as was on the so called💩 benefit also known as universal credit and unfortunately I didn't have any money at all to send it by certified mail and was terrified that they would either not receive it or lose it but as I unfortunately didn't have any other option except putting a first class stamp on it as the envelope they give you is second class I just had to risk it. The robbing post office also don't let you pay the difference from second to first class they make you pay the full first class fee which is also wrong as the second class has been paid for so why you can't just pay the difference from second to first class mail is beyond me but that's not allowed apparently. Luckily they received it. I had a letter saying there would be a phone interview with which I was in the waiting room for50minutea and no one showed up so I called them only to be told it had been cancelled but no one bothered to tell me. I rescheduled it and the woman on the end of the phone had the cheek to tell me if I didn't do this interview then my case would basically be binned even though I had shown up15minutes prior to the previous phone interview and had waited50minutes and no one bothered to interview me or even say the meeting had been cancelled but was told that if I didn't do the next interview I would basically have to reapply and do the mammoth paperwork yet again and then wait once the paperwork was in DWP'S hands. To say I was fuming would be an understatement. I mean the basic cheek of them. I had the benefit from2000~2016 and had a benefits lawyer who said for my medication alone I should never have been taken off the benefit in the first place. The hoops we have to go through is disgusting and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who gets worse symptoms with added stress and going through the whole DWP process is ridiculous. My daughter works with a girl who works7days a week and works with her in a busy bar/restaurant and apparently has a bad shoulder but my daughter said its not bad enough that she can't carry heavy trays of food yet she was given the benefit. She paid£6000.00 as a pre- payment for an audi SUV on motorbility. She also goes away to foreign countries on regular vacations every8-9weeks and stays for a minimum of a week each time. My daughter said that this year alone she's been away4times so far. It blows my mind that she can get the benefit but it was taken off me when my pain meds alone include Fentanyl patches and Oxycontin which Fentanyl alone is100times stronger than morphine.
So it's not just me who thinks it's a dirty trick they play. Luckily, from day one, I've always sent any paperwork back to government bodies by recorded delivery. But every single time I send my PIP forms back, I get a letter saying they have no received them. But you ring up and guess what they've just been found on a colleagues desk. I'm none verbal on the phone as I suffer from aphasia. My family just about understands me, but when my wife Rings the DWP to Converse about my PIP they insist on speaking to me. Even though my wife has power of attorney, and the DWP have been notified of this on numerous occasions. This is very humiliating, because all I get from the person on the other end of the phone is" speak up and more clearly we can't understand you" this I am sure is another one of there dirty tricks to try and catch me out. I can't change what has happened to me. 10 years ago I was a fully able bodied healthy person with a good job. And given half the chance I would be back doing the job I loved. And showing my children a proper work ethic that's a father has and deep down I still have
I'm so sorry to hear how badly you have been treated by the DWP. I'm sure you're right about it being a dirty trick and shows either the despicable attitude towards claimants or the need for better training for the DWP phone operators.
Do you have an email or other method of contact? I used work for ATOS and want offer advice and help point out incompetence and corruption your correct with and more and can provide proof I worked for them too
You are already being screwed over. I had a text saying about a PIP review that I was not expecting so soon. I phoned up Scope and they said oh they do that as standard around six, seven months before the award is due to end because it will take that long for them to process it. I had to laugh really, I had read that they were supposed to be giving you a year extension after your award has ended to cover the back log. I am expecting a fight because I think when they call it early, they want to cancel your claim as they might have new evidence e,g they have followed you around etc etc and they want to stop your claim as quickly as possible. You send the PIP review back, and Scope reckoned they always do that because it takes so long. However, if you fail in your PIP review, your money will stop straight away. Your ESA will stop as well needless to say, because you failed your PIP, as this is 13 days ago they are trying to kill as many of us as they possibly can, as quickly as they can so no legal challenges can be made.

I'm glad I was able to cheer you up for a few minutes. Yeah, these assessments can be traumatising. They're probably going to give some of us PTSD with their attitudes, it certainly doesn't help those of us with poor mental health get any better.

I only sent evidence gathered since my last assessment. It had discharge paperwork on my hospitalisation with COVID, the five minor operations I've had and my test results from the tests I had to have done to be referred to the Long COVID clinic.
Just a tip, don't turn up at all, say your too ill, I'm not claiming pip nor am I going to as most people find it a nightmare, dwp is run by willing slaves, a lot on uc themselfs and are also subject to sanctions
Nothing is changing yet. Proposals are still being made on what sort of payments PIP should have. Nothing will change until after the next government comes into power. I've seen that it is supposed to start coming in from next April up to 2028.
Wrong advice. Complete the form as if your life depends on it, which it does in most cases. people who believe that DWP treat all climates fairly get the shock of their lives when their claim is stopped or rejected from the start.
Why did it take you over 4 weeks to send it back when essentially all you are doing is ticking a "I have no changes to my circumstances" and signing it. Why nearly 4 weeks?
It wasn't just a case of ticking "I have no changes to my circumstances" and signing it. Since my last PIP assessment I've had a hospitalisation with COVID (Critical Care), five minor operations, a new diagnosis regarding my mental health (PTSD caused by my hospitalisation with COVID) and a change in medication all of which needed to be evidenced. As I have Long COVID induced brain fog concentrating for a prolonged period of time is impossible for me and the memory problems (also COVID related) meant it was hard to remember where I put the letters/hospital discharge reports/test results because of the confused state I was in when I put them away. It also takes a few days to process the feelings of terror at receiving the form and the possible loss of benefits which is always a possibility given how the government hate the disabled especially those with invisible disabilities like mental health issues.
@theabyssalvault4238 Fair enough, I do apologise for jumping the gun. That's just what I done in my case (sent back within a week), and it seemed to go in my favour as extended for 3 yrs.
I received my P I P renewal for on the 8th of February this year, and had to return it by the 12th. Yes four days to gather consultants letters, copies of prescriptions and doctors letters. The date the letter was sent was the 10th of January. I was livid and panic struck.

Yeah, that's a possibility but it also shows a certain level of malice towards the claimant too.
That doesn't prove nothing because I often have to get a family member to read my letters and explain whatever crap they are contacting me about.

A lot of the time they are sent out late
They'll be scrapping PIP soon. And it will all be paid via UC. But problems ahead for so many
No, they will be scrapping the LCWRA element of UC so that anyone who gets PIP automatically receives that too. PIP isn't going anywhere.
