After watching your videos I baught a seabass rod 9.6 foot,, got a savage missle 42gr and went beach fishing and never looked back.. Catching lots of fish tailor and salmon and really enjoying it. I go nearly everyday Thanks bro
Nice video, my favourite lure is the spanyid raider and then a samaki flash lure. Because I do a lot of fishing off the rocks I find the sea missile loses its coating too easily, but it's a great lure for the beach. I have been trying jig style lures, cast and twitch retrieve and they seem to work ok. Looking forward to your next video's.
Yes, the biggest flaw of the sea missile is the poor quality, but at the price and at the rate it catches fish its worth it. The norstream has a better finish but is hard to find. The spanyid is very durable and it would be great ir they made a true 40g. Maybe we should see if there's a 50g that weights 40g....
Hello I just come across your you tube about your top 10 Beach lures can you tell me where you get them at if not asking 4 to ouch thank 4 your Time swishing you Best in your Adventure
Unfortunately savage gear sea missile no longer available , Spanyid raider no longer available. What would be your next go to lure for the daylight? Thanks
Hey, I didn't know sea missiles were no longer available. I bought a lifetime supply lol 😂 As you may have noticed, I don't get much time to go fishing these days, maybe I'll get back into it this spring
Hey, Sea Missiles are only straya as far as I know, I have never seen them in South Africa. If you're keen we could do a swap - Sea Missiles for Iron Candy.. Interested?
Hey mate, a lot of people asking about the iron candy glow not being in stock, so if you couldnt use the iron candy glow (but you could use other iron candy colours and all other lure brands) what would be your top 2 or 3 lures for sunrise and sunset? Love your work mate thanks so much for taking the time to create this content!
Thank for watching, I appreciate all the feedback! The other iron candy colours that also work well are green glow, pink glow and silver flash (which has a lumo belly). If you are prepared to pay for international freight, try basilmanning.co.za If there's enough people that want, I can get someone in SA to send a package by airmail but it would be costly as they are heavy items which attract a high tarrif....
@@localdude9261 you're a legend 🙌, 300 lures is a lot (did I read that correctly...?) If you have any 47g bullet foils in glow colour, I would be interested. How much are they going for?
Great informative session, mate! I noticed you just use standard single hooks, instead of in-line hooks, to replace the treble. I wonder, does it make any difference in terms of hook-up?
Apologies for not putting up the ebay link. I use the ebay app on my phone...no link unfortunately. I will see if I can find the details. Braid is 10lb power pro. I forgot to mention that.
Hello, really enjoying your videos. Had a question about leader length. Do you run a long leader that winds on to your reel for casting or do you run a shorter leader that doesn’t run the knot through the guides?
Hi. I use a leader length of just less than a rod length and I don't usually wind the knot through the guides, however if you use an FG knot you can wind the knot through the guides. I dont think you need more than about 1.5 m of leader. Mono leader also gives more stretch so a good clear leader like black magic will work well.
In the video you say that savage gear missile is your go to lure, GT ice cream for calm conditions, and the iron candy couta (GLOW ) for dusk and dawn. Would there be a reason to buy the other 7? Thanks
No not really...I have just bought a lot of lures over the years and spent a lot of time trying different things but as you say, Top 3 would be savage gear for sunny conditons, GT Ice cream for calm conditons and iron candy glow for low light conditions. I guess you could add a fourth which is the GT Ice cream in glow colour for low light calm conditions...
@@murrayspeakman5781 tailor usually hunt in packs and they move around chasing baitfish, so structure isn't such a big issue. They patrol the beach at the back of the breakers moving up and down the beach as the food moves...they hide/hunt in the whitewater, on sunny days you can see them in the breakers....so don't worry too much about structure on the beach, rather look for the baitfish (birds) and the rips (food)....
Thanks for the feedback. I don't personally use poppers for tailor purely because it's too much work. In the lake and in the channel, poppers would work fine, but you can cast a metal much further than a popper of similar weight, due to the aerodynamic shape of the metal vs the popper. On the beach you need to get past the breakers, which is hard to do with a popper. I find that a good alternative to a popper is the GT Ice Cream, which casts like a bullet and works like a popper with a normal retrieval, making it much less tiring to use. I will do a video soon with the GT Ice Cream in action. I do have some videos where I cover the GT Ice Cream
Would you be so kind to show us your retrieval pace? I tried all these lures with no success and went back to gang hooks with pilchards and they were on. I am doing something wrong.
Hi Paul. Thanks for asking. It's a good question. If they are taking the pillies they will smash the lures too. What you can try is to let the lure sink to the bottom before starting the retrieve, then wind fast to get the lure to the surface, wind at a steady pace and then stop. Letting it sink back down. Repeat. This will ensure that you cover the whole water column. Often the fish will hit the lure as soon as it comes off the bottom. Sometimes they hit it on the surface.... depends where they are feeding.
@@paulvictor9368 another thing you can do if there are reasonable size waves, see if you can spot the lure in the wave. Tailor love to attack stuff in the white water behind the waves and they can often be seen chasing the lures if the sun is highlighting the silouette of the fish. I've often spotted fish chasing the lure in the wave and adjusted my speed to suit till they catch it....
Hi your video is so informative and easy to understand i appreciate it. I am looking for the iron candy lures you use in this video any chance you know who sells them I am from Sydney and I searched online but can't find anyone
Hi. Thanks for the kind words. Iron candy are available online from tackle hq in Perth. The savage gear 42g is excellent too available from BCF. Tight lines.
Saragosa is a better reel than the stradic. If you have the cash...why not. Shimano warranty can't be beaten. 10 years! I have never had a problem with Shimano. They honour the warranty. No questions asked. I wouldn't buy any other reel ever again.
@@AlluringFishing also do you think the seabass 10'6 rod will be good for a bait rod @ the beach's too? if not are you able to recommend one that can do both?
@@shorteeayy Hi, I would really take the approach of a separate rod for flicking lures and for bait fishing use something else like a daiwa crossfire 12ft or if you want something fancy, maybe a 12ft daiwa sea jigger.
