I love the Tintin tv series! I mean it may have it's ups and downs like all animated shows do. But I enjoyed this series as a kid! I especially always found the fact that this series was made in the 90's to be amazing, Because with it's animation style it looked more like it was from the 70's. At least to me it did and I know the animation style is the same as the comics but I'm just saying.
Honestly i think it's a minor miracle that kids' cartoon series from the early 90s managed to do such a good job translating Herge's adventures to screen. This is a series that's full of gunfights, fistfights, car chases and plots driven by things like political intrigue and drug smuggling, and for the most part Nelvana/Ellipse don't pull the punches (with a couple exceptions such as the villains of The Broken Ear surviving rather than drowning). Although I agree that the pace could have used a bit of tightening from time to time. I also agree with your critique of Colin O'Meara's Tintin but the rest of the voice acting is really good. I wanted to single out David Fox's Haddock in particular - there's a gruff warmth to him that makes him the emotional core of the series in a way that he wasn't really in the comics, and it's lovely. Childhood bias is very strong because I still can't hear anyone else when I read his lines in the comic, Canadian accent and all, to the point that Andy Serkis' choice to go Scottish for the movie sounds off to me no matter how often I watch it.
