Hmmm, I didn't think of that but it must work. Did you have to readjust your derailleur? I think the new freewheel fixed my issue but I installed it at the very end of the season and didn't get much of a chance to test it before winter set in. I hate riding in the freezing cold weather so I'll do my final testing in the Spring. Thanks for commenting. John
Thanks for the vid! Havent pulled cranks since the 80s on my BMX bike. This is different for sure. Its really different to me using that crank pulling tool. It gets really tight before it breaks loose. I would have been lost without your video. You can pull that chain completely away from the sprocket and over the pedal though. It doesnt have to be in that spot. Its so great to see videos on how to do. Thanks again brother.
Seems that 50T would work right? (48T is 104 mm; 50T is 110 mm Diameter means from Radius +3 mm more for 50T vs 48T) I think I would also take a 11T to 28T Cassette instead of 14T to 28T.
Wondering why you did not just replace the front sprocket. I saw another video on a Himiway Cruser where Stan the Reservoir Rat just replaced the sprocket with a 52 not the entire drive. Thanks
Well, I'm an amateur but wanted to show others how to remove the sprocket. In the end, replacing the rear gears with a different set fixed the issue. I think I put up a video showing that or it's maybe in this one. John
@littlethislittlethat456 I thought your video was great amateur or not. I has just seen a video on just the sprocket replacement and wondered if you had tried that. How did the rear one go?
@@kenainmeshik Thank you for the kind comment. The rear freewheel install went fine. I can now go at the top speed and still peddle in the highest gear Here is a link to that video: ruclips.net/video/VTO89HXIVXk/видео.html If you do this, I hope it goes well. John
Maybe a strange question ,but i have a Merida mtb with a Shimano XT drivetrain.( I bought this thing very cheap Would it work i i put the freewheel , the rear derailleur and the right shifter on a himiway ??
That is true but then the gearing is off and you can't pedal fast enough. I ended up installing a new freewheel gearset and that solves the problem. John
Ok, I have a Zebra step-thru and I notice that before I purchased the 52t crank and decided to get a 11 - 28 tooth cassette which works perfectly and is very easy to change out, there is enough gear for at least 28 to 30 mph because I still have the stock display and I have plenty of gear for 25 mph + and I rarely go faster than 20 mph maybe 22 mph but it is nice to know you can but a color display and unlock the bike to go 30+ mph and I like that you posted your failed try to change the crank and now I know I was right and I think I saw someone put the crank sprocket on the outside where the sprocket chain guard is and claimed it worked but then he had nowhere to put the guard and had to go guard less and I really don't know how that worked out, But no worries because I got the perfect fix and it is the best upgrade for the money BIG-TIME and I want to tell you when you take off the stock cassette 14 - 28 tooth there is a big washer don't use it on the new cassette or on this one that I bought and I had to do no adjustments with out that washer on and it works perfectly also the new upgraded motor on the Zebra is much better and easier to work on and the wires are on the disc brake side so you can get the cassette off with the tool with out the wires getting in the way and here it is www.amazon.com/DRIFT-MANIAC-Freewheel-Speeds-11-34T/dp/B07XYNSHZC?pd_rd_w=8r5cN&content-id=amzn1.sym.ef24cbd7-1c36-4cb3-88ef-bbe71c4409d0&pf_rd_p=ef24cbd7-1c36-4cb3-88ef-bbe71c4409d0&pf_rd_r=HHZG8CJXC1HR2HZF4K7Y&pd_rd_wg=TxSnx&pd_rd_r=87a868fb-2775-4fda-889c-f7d8aa260b1a&ref_=sspa_dk_rhf_cart_pt_sub_1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFWTDM4R0MzTjVBTzcmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA0MzE2ODQyNTBMT003TUo2NVoxJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyMDc0MDMxS09WTDVEUE8zU1hCJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcmhmX2NhcnQmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1
Good information. That was the next thing I was going to do but I was going to wait until winter set in. Can you give me a link to the cassette you bought and also for the color display? When I unlocked mine, I was only able to raise the speed to 40 KMH, which is 24.8548 MPH. I was out today because the weather was nice at 64 F and the bike does hold a nice 24.5 MPH except on hills. I really like the Zebra. Thanks, John

It would be nice to know this before you buy it. Not to bright. You need a wider bottom bracket to make it work. You can make it work but you would have to buy a new bottom bracket. The alignment will be a little off but it will work.
Just shave some off the frame! What's the problem??! 🤯 Keep the chainring and Send the bike back, it was over priced anyways.... Actually, the spindle can hold two gears, one on the back side and one on the front side where the chain guard is mounted....leave off the chain guard and mount the 52t gear...
ello because of a good Himiway bike After 3 weeks and about 15 km it is defective (no more pedal assist) After I tried the support they wanted a video from me with the description of the problem, what I had done. The driving assistance via hand throttle worked perfectly, what I showed in the video. And what email came back from China ??? a video how I can speed up the hand throttle illegally, with the statement that they helped me with it ????????? I think the Himiway Service in China can't even watch video properly. I've only had the bike 3 weeks and already have a neck on Himiway. I hope for you that you never have to use the service, because the support in Germany gives the problem also only to China, because nothing else comes from there either.
Have fun with your Himiway and hopefully never a warranty case.
I have a Cruiser and a Zebra. I put the 52T chainring next to the stock chainring and removed the chain guard. Works like a charm.

Did you consider cutting the frame enough to make the 52T work as well as adding some metal to "mend" the tube?
I didn't want to cut the frame. I could have used a spacer but found that replacing the freewheel did the trick. John
I am looking for information on. I bent my crank how do I go about repairing?
I would buy a new crank and remove the bent one.

Nice effort! Too bad it didn't fit.
Instead change your free wheel to 11x28
Thanks for the tip!
A piece of advice you are supposed to leave the chain on them loosen the bolt then, take off the chain then, take the crank off.
Thanks
