Great reaction! This track is a classic!!! But ppl are incorrect thinking the falsetto on this track is Eddie Kendricks, it is not. He had already left the group when this came out in 1980. The falsetto singing lead is Glenn Leonard. Leonard also sang lead on “Give Love at Christmas”.
Most beautiful rendition I’ve ever heard. Soulful gorgeous voices, the blend, the arrangement I’ve never heard before. I love the Temps! Thank you for your great reaction!
I’m 54 years old and this has been a staple at Christmas at my house since 1980.
The whole Christmas Album is fire...worth a listen!!
Melvin Franklin studied music so he had a very good ear to hear to know which bass harmony to sing
Dennis Edwards was on the lead or as many used to say was preaching the sermon with Eddie Kendricks singing soprano and Melvin Franklin with the bass.
That wasnt Eddie Kendricks, Glenn Leonard was the falsetto singing lead.
Absolutely beautiful rendition.
Mr. MELVIN FRANKLIN on the bass. Rest In Peace Melvin, and all of the Temptations. Mr. [Dr.] Otis Williiams is still with us at age 82 performing with today's members of the Temptations. You would never think that he was 82. He's the one who actually put the group together when they were in their early, early twenties.
