Who thinks they should make another radio or podcast style radio drama today?..I do! I wouldn't care if it was amateur actors or students playing roles..I really think it would catch on!😃
As a kid, I fell asleep every night listening to CBSRMT..I love all of them, and enjoy especially the Ian Martin scripts !
I am 61 and wish that I had heard these as a child or at least as a teenager.
Me too
I also enjoyed listening to these as a teenager when they began playing them every night. I’d hop into bed, turn on my clock radio, set the sleep timer to play radio for one hour and drift to sleep with these stories! Great times!
Wow... The main character worked in an American company where one person could support a whole household. Those were the days.
That's funny I have saying that same sentiment for years.....mortgage and rental prices from the 20s all the way to the 70s were no more than 1/4 of one's earnings on average now the same houses and rentals are closer to 70% of one's earnings
I absolutely love radio dramas since I first started listening to them in the 70s...and I am 52 now...I even love the commercials and that nastolgic news clips like reports on Watergate or the Vietnam War,or the abduction of Patricia Hearst
Hi Steve. I started listening in the mid 1980's. These radio dramas are great huh? Did you grow up in the midwest?
@@mikejohnson2173 yes a suburb of Chicago ..nice to meet you Mike

Listening from Widnes Cheshire England 🏴 Britain 🇬🇧 👍
This is one of my all-time favorites. The characters of Alvin, Marvin, and Sarah are so likable and the story of one person's personal misery, feeling trapped, desperation... terrific episode.
“Willoughby next!...Willoughby...!” 😬
The story sounds familiar to the Twilight Zone's "A Stop at Willoughby" - Gart Williams is a contemporary (c. 1960) New York City advertising executive who has grown exasperated with his career. His overbearing boss, Oliver Misrell, angered by the loss of a major account, lectures him about this "push-push-push" business. Unable to sleep properly at home, he drifts off for a short nap on the train during his daily commute through the November snow. ;-)
That one was my fav tz episode
That was a good one
i have just heard that one push push liol
yeah both are good
THAT'S ENOUGH FAT BOY!
Great story,
funny really, after years of TV we're starting to return to using our imagination once again via podcasts which is great, i myself have always enjoyed radio drama's so all of these are great to listen to, thanks for the upload m8
Totally reminded me of a TZ episode - only with much less nagging!
loved it..
What a sad story of a man who lost his mind due to grief (though the ending could be perceived as happy).
This was a good story!!
Great picture, good story. Unfortunately not the happy ending I have waited for...
OMG that wife
This one was pretty good
It's a good one
It also reminds me of one of Zenna Henderson’s short stories. A young teenage girl decides to get off a subway at a stop the train didn’t normally make. Found a whole different part of her world. When she returned home she told her family, who were reluctant to believe her.
OK< Make me cry already....
Alvin needed a divorce, a long time ago how does he not see that?
Scary pic, well done for this story
Elizabeth Stetler the pic looks similar to the man from the TZ version of the man on the train.
💜💚💜💚💜
sad...
Been there
👍
2:40 I think I'm in love. Thumb up if you too like her accent! :-)
What's really unbelievable is how in a land of plenty we have people who struggle to make ends meet, and who are unhappy in their work and family relationships. What would it take to make everyone content, if not outright happy with their lives? Is it really that difficult? Alvin's landlord tells him about Gaughin not being happy as a banker, so he abandons everything to run off to Tahiti. Not realistic, or possible, for the rest of us.
John Karavitis communism.
Coming from a former communist country, I can assure you that people were much worse off there than in a capitalist country. Think one egg ration per person per week, butter ration per month, one bread per family per week, etc., to name just a few off the top of my head. Want to wait 3 years for the right to getting a car? Yep, got you covered there, too. Nope, it was not good, and it did not work.
"What would it take to make everyone content, if not outright happy with their lives?"
MAKE BETTER CHOICES.
Man does not seek contentment! He seeks conflict!
@@louisbrugnoni1291 I disagree.
Do you want to fight about it?
