    Thanks for the memories.
    I was 3 when Dolphins came into being. But dad prepared us well.
    In 72 my friends an I rode our bikes from Carol City to watch practice @
    Biscayne College. I was hooked.

    My only game I saw live as a Dolphin fan(6th grade). My friend's grandpa had season tickets for RFK stadium. Whenever Miami scored they would put "miami dolphins touchdown" in all lowercase at the very bottom of the Jumbotron, lol. I remember saying before the game that I doubted Marino was any good and they should keep Woodley as the starter, hahaha...

    I wasn't at this game but I was at the last preseason game the week before...it was in Tampa (I lived in Orlando and drove over for the game) and Marino hadn't yet played in preseason due to an injured finger (thumb I believe) but Shula said he'd play him in the last preseason game to get him some work...at the time the Bucs had a pretty ferocious defense and they were blitzing Marino like crazy....for the Bucs it was like their super bowl to beat the glamor Florida team...anyway Dan took a couple big hits from Hugh Green and Shula pulled Danny pretty quickly...I watched Dan warm up before the game and he looked tremendous to me but didn't show much in the game, as I said above the Bucs really came after him and Shula pulled him pretty quickly, so I was kinda surprised Danny came out of the shoot so fast against the redskins. I do remember after the game Coach Gibbs was a bit stunned and said "we thought we had a pretty good secondary, but we hadn't seen Danny Marino".

    This ass whooping was payback for the SB loss to Washington in 1983, with Woodley at QB. It's ironic that Marino set a then NFL record of 48 TDs (5 that day) in the 1984 season, but lost in his only SB appearance to Montana & SF. They lost for the same reason they did in their previous SB, lack of a good defense, especially their inability to stop the run. The Miami Killer B defense was a joke and they got badly exposed in 2 SB losses.

    • @fritterfoof5146
      @fritterfoof5146 2 года назад

      That last SB of Arnsparer was ranked - 2 - 1 , no joke , they just got pushed around by bigger Offensive lines in both games and they had no breakaway rusher.

    I always thought the Dolphins wasted Dan Marino career because they didn't build around Marino far as building a solid defense and a solid running game with a guy like Dan Marino you suppose to have at least 3 super bowls rings Marino had one hell of a release don shula should be a shame of himself!!!!
