  • Here again with a bonus video while the footage is still relevant. I left a bunch out because it would double watch a lot of part 13's footage but overall I think it shows how a lot of the corners get filled in on this job. As always, thanks for watching and hopefully you'll stick around for more:-)

    I'm really happy that this footage is not lost to the cutting room floor and can be used in these bonus videos. I read some comments from some that questioning this content. But I doubt that I am alone in enjoying them immensely as they contain the extra steps that are missed in the edited video. More of the same please Jake, whenever you have the footage :)

      You got it Paul, you are right in that was all sort of intended to be a fun recap and not a feature length piece. When I watch stuff myself i'm always trying to put all the pieces together as well and very accustomed to waiting months or even years to connect every dot on someone else project The overhead view just cuts that to almost nothing. It also reminds me to remember to park the crane trolley over where i'm working when the camera is set up. It's really a easy way to get footage as long as i remember to charge the gopro dock and keep an empty card in it. I'm thinking about a second one on the same view but with a remote to use for normal speed footage when I need it.
      Anyhow, thanks for your thoughts. Glad you enjoyed it.

    You are an amazing builder! I’m in awe at how much you get done by yourself. Artists with your abilities could help the world even more by sharing your gifts with apprentices. There is a shortage of competent craftsman (men and women). It’s been difficult to find people I’m willing to take a chance on, but what a blessing it is to have found a few and to help empower the next generation of builders. Keep up the fantastic work and thank you for taking the time after work to share, with all of us, your videos!

      Oh yeah, I get that completely Dennis and no worries. The reasons for doing the shorter weekend video is several fold. One, I hate to waste the footage and I don't always use very much of it at all in the videos because its time consuming to comb thru it and match it up so A 'raw' version seems to be the compromise and the thought is that if you watched the parent video that you might recognize sequences and thus the order in which the soup is made so to speak. Two would be to hopefully increase the reach by crossing genres somewhat since my 'modern house' series does not promote the use of the crane and a lot of guy love crane content on youtube. The hope is to use the small platform that i've created here to turn it into a larger platform and continue to work towards having it make some money for my efforts.
      It's my hope that my regulars will get that and not feel like i'm foisting something upon them that is unwanted . I'm ok if it doesn't get the same traffic from my subs and its also ok if you just skip the extras, everyones time is precious and i appreciate the time people take to check out what they can.
      Thanks for chiming in too because the interactions helps the channel and we'll see you next Thursday:-)

    Nice work again Jake, I didn't comment on the last video caught it a day late,what's your pitch going to be on the roof ,mabey you said it b4 and how much longer you have on this job site?

    • @ShredPile
      @ShredPile  2 месяца назад

      Thanks! Roof is flat flat and sloped with polyiso and hardboard under TPO. The two ends of what you see me framing here are green roofs as well so it will be a pretty neat look when it's all done.

    Thursday's never looked so good Jake. Are you involved with interior/exterior finishes too or just rough-in?

    • @ShredPile
      @ShredPile  2 месяца назад +1

      I'm primarily a structure guy but on the last two builds for this client I also built the interior and exterior steel hand and guardrails as well as some steel art panels at the entryways. There's a good chance that i'll be doing the same on this build. Once I top out on this I'll start working my way back down wrapping up window holes and sheeting as the scaffolders set the house up for siding and windows. I'll use the crane to spread windows to their locations when it's time as well then the crane goes to it's next job directly after that.

    Good to view the project from superior elevation! Was wondering how much time you've got on site so far Jake?

    • @ShredPile
      @ShredPile  2 месяца назад +2

      so at the point of this video it's probably 12 weeks in but we lost a week plus to the weather and ice and I was offsite for a couple weeks working steel so this shows the completion of at least half the roof framing and the start of the final 1000sqft of floor for the next level. It's really starting to cook getting up off the steel. See you on thursday Robert!

      I don't really know but the enjoyment I get out of not really needing help is priceless. It's still a bit of effort moving all the pieces around job to job but not having to hustle to keep a crew busy all the time takes a load off my shoulders.

      It's an extra. I don't use all the footage in my main weekly video and as my description states I like to post it while its still relevant. Two weeks ago after Part-11 I posted the extra crane footage as Part 11.5. This week after Part 13 I posted Part-13.5. Maybe you could suggest a better way for me to title it so that you can recognize sooner what the video will be and not feel compelled to click on it. Open to suggestions....

    Джейк, смотрю ваши видео все подряд. Метод возведения каркара здания вызывает много вопросов. Почему вы не делаете каркас целиком из металла? Соединение металлических элементов с деревянными балками кажутся мне ненадёжными и трудозатратами. Может это связано со стоимостью металлопроката в вашей стране. В любом случае ваши видео познавательно! Успехов вам в строительстве модерн дома! Привет из Крыма, Россия! 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺

      Большое спасибо за просмотр и ваши комментарии. В этом случае ни одно из решений по строительству не принадлежит мне, поскольку я здесь всего лишь субподрядчик. Предлагаемый вами стиль известен здесь, но не получил широкого распространения из-за затрат. Мы живем в районе, богатом древесиной, и это очень распространенный способ возведения зданий такого типа. Я сам много смотрю RUclips и всегда поражаюсь строительным технологиям в других частях мира. Еще раз спасибо за ваше время, увидимся в следующий четверг :-)
