Thanks Jacob, thanks for taking the time to point out the idiosyncrasies you have found. It sure has made me aware of things to look out for when I get mine - I'm a 2nd generation purchaser, the 1st gen is always to let the general public sort out issues if any, and by the way the Raptor is going, there aint much to fix or change. Brilliant vehicle!! I can't believe how right Ford have got it. I guess long term will be the ultimate test. Did I tell you I'm a 'sad' one eyed Hilux man.
after test driving one twice now I must admit that I would buy it alone for the all round disc brakes. For the life of me I still cannot understand why manufacturers still stick drums in the rear end of UTE's. It's disgusting - especially on something that carries load. The Raptor brakes so smooth and sharply compared to my Amarok. It also sound so nice in the cabin, that growl from the motor doesnt make you think you're in a tractor like I am with my amarok
Chicken Lips yea the reason I fell in love with it is because it drove like a normal car with great off-road capability and the practicality of a Ute. I assume they still use drums is because they produce enough braking and are cheaper to maintain
Great Video! Interesting to see the slight differences there is between the Aussie spec and the South African spec. The tub here has the recess in the front as the new 2019 Rangers. It does not really make it that much bigger, but it does take away the storage behind the rear seat. (I am not sure if that is a difference between the 2018 and 2019 models of the Raptor either) The liner is fixed with clips all around the edges. My tub has 6 anchor points. The model here does not have the engine Stop/start feature. Although ours have the Lane Keep Assist function, it does not have the Road sign recognition function. I agree about the lack of Telescopic steering wheel is a big oversight, but being the owner of other Ranger models as well, I have gotten over it. I also agree that is one of the best rides you can get off-road...
Thank you for this video, I've learned a lot... I'm waiting for my Raptor but I noticed that from last year BF Goodrich tires have been swapted by General Graber. What do you think of your BF Goodrich KO2 tires?
Nice video, I have a ranger wildtrack 3.2 l 2018, I hope to change it for a ranger raptor in the future. The agresive aparience is one reason, and the second a heavier reason is because I thing that the ranger raptor is more confortable with diference on bumpy roads. I fell the bump bumps so much, and I hope that with the raptor don't hapen that thing. Are you agree? It's a lot of money the diference, but if it is really the most confortable car off-road. I think I would change it soon. Thank for your opinion from Spain
Great video Jacob, keep them coming! Personally I'm interested in seeing your solution for the factory tie down points in the tray. They really are lacking. Cheers
Thanks for your video-! I am just wondering have you had any issue with engine and transmission before? Because i saw many complaints regards about these-!😢
dakota paul I never find it too challenging because it has a good turning circle and a great reverse camera but I never park in forwards I only reverse in
@@FulgentFave Lucky you! I own mine now since August 2019 and i could not be happier. This is by far the best car/truck i have ever owned. Pure fun and a very good family vehicle as well. Plus, it is excellent in the big city as well!
Already posted this on other pages, but here are several things that I don't like about it. And which Ford could have done better. 1) Rear seat and backrest not 40/60 like other models. With 1 kid in an Isofix seat, this blocks all access to storage space below and behind. Not practical at all if you just want to store some things out of sight. 2) No protection on top of tray lid. I have seen a brand new Wildtrack at a dealership with the top of the lid scratched by the salesman's belt buckle. Why not add a simple protection strip? Though sitting on the back of the lid with a beer will also not be pleasant with it's ribs not making you comfortable. Not even practical to do some tailgating without adding a proper flat plate. I have already seen replacement covers with 2 bucket seats and cup holders in the center. 3) Antenna on the rear of the cabin. Not practical if you ever plan to install a rooftop tent longer than the truck bed. It could be easily integrated in the window. Or just a small shark fin on the front. Not to mention the ugly connector dor the rear window defroster. 4) No adaptive cruise control. When it is standard on the lower priced model Wildtrack. 5) A front camera would really be helpful when parking this beast. Not even parking sensors. Guess a low bullbar will be the best option for the drivers. But I have my doubts on the opinion of the other cars owner when parking in tight spots. 6) No storage space on the top of the dashboard for the European and Asian markets, When it is available in the US rangers. 7) No floor rails on the bed floor for movable attachment points. 8) 12VDC socket near the cabin. I think a socket near the lid would be more practical. Because that is where your fridge will be. Now it will only get covered with a trunk box. 9) Rims are way too close to the edges of the tyres. If it wasn't for the height, they will surely get damaged/scratched easily during rock climbing. 10) Only auto opening the left side window. 11) Watch official ford video at 01:30 and shiver. Not to mention the FUNNY things going on in this video; At 00:30 blue and yellow cars swap sides. And yellow car is missing right rear fender. At 00:55 both fenders are back and it looses left rear fender. OK. Before hating me. I love this model. And it's top of my wish list. And most points are easy to overcome, fix or living with. And it will just boost the aftermarket to create real practical solutions and lower prices to fix these issues in a proper way. But it just looks like the focus has been a bit too much towards off-road use only. Now let's hear some comments;
Kosmic Kitchen essentially it’s not quick. Not by any means but it’s quick enough for day to day traffic and overtaking, plus it’s got enough torque to have that same speed and overtaking ability whether you are unloaded or driving though a brick wall. When you think about the old saying hoarse power is how quick you get to the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you, the raptor doesn’t know that there was ever a wall to begin with , it just didn’t get to the wall amazingly fast
Already have a phobia driving my ford ranger raptor for long drives because it is NOT RELIABLE! MAY FAIL YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF A LONG DRIVE. REGRET BUYING ONE. SO YOU OUT THERE THINKING ABOUT BUYING ONE THINK TWICE! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY FOR THIS WORTHLESS TRUCK!

It’s a rhino rack pioneer platform

Jacob’s Garage thank you for answering my question-! 😀😀
When is colder than minus 3 degrese The car won't start - engine is working but schifter doesnt. Have to wait few minutes before its run.
Hey bud, what’s it like to park it up ? Can you get a park in one go or do you have to reverse and then go again only because the raptor is so wide

Loved the video, would love to see a follow up on what you think about the engine and gearbox. You made some excellent points in this review. Thanks

Your disclaimer was long too.
Um isnt it a full on off roader ? Maybe a toyota 86 would be better suited
And yep i do own one
How so?
Get the flares Linex coated
Zhivan Wasinski I was thinking about doing that
I hope I win one at Mountain Dew Philippines
