I applaud the lady for her invitation to interview-faith dialog, mutual civility and arriving at peace. One of the first steps in this direction is to call out religions and scriptures that have patently absurd, and unfair prescriptions regarding women. For instance, Manu Smriti, a Hindu treatise that has been written by no one person but has influenced social mores, has patently misogynistic recommendations regarding women. Modern Hindus have no hesitation in condemning and distancing themselves from such prescriptions in their scriptures, and rightly so. Modern Christians have similarly distanced and are vocally critical about the prescriptions in Bible that are misogynistic and unfair to women and people of other faiths. I would have liked Dr. Hyat to similarly being critical and distancing herself from Shariya prescriptions that daughters inherit one half of what the sons inherit from father's property, and that as a witness, a woman's testimony be given only half the weight compared to men's. Instead of whitewashing that Shariya treats women equally, I would like educated, modern Muslims to speak up and examine the Shariya critically.
B Sridhar The issue with that is, Qur'an is considered to be the word of God (Allah) and thus infallible. In the cases of the treatise you were talking about and the Bible, well they've mostly been written by humans. And humans are imperfect, unlike what God is believed to be. This is why the concept of a "Liberal Muslim" (especially one concerning a clear alteration of the Qur'an) is theoretically impossible. In the past, there have been movements, such as the Mu'tazilah, who had interpreted the sayings of the Qur'an on predestination and free will metaphorically rather than literally, but were eventually opposed and brushed aside by more theological movements.

I married a Muslim woman. I am agnostic. The Muslim religion does not allow this but we did it anyway in a free country.
She is from Pakistan. Which had may be 70% Muslims and 30% non-Muslims in 1948 when they got independence. Now there the Muslims are 98% and non-Muslims are 2%. Here she is in a western country, enjoying all the benefits of democracy and talks about inter-faith. What an irony. When Muslims are minority it is inter-faith. Once they become majority, it is my way or no way. I wish when her son or daughter wish mary outside religion, hope she won’t demand a religious change of the in law. Until then these are all just eye-wash, making use of western ideas to propogate their hidden agenda.
That was before the patition in 1947. Most Hindus and Sikhs migrated to India. The 1951 census of West Pak now Pak had 3.42 percent non muslim. The percentage has slightly increased to 3.72 percenr in 2017 census so large scale conversions to Islam is not true.
@@SaqibKhan-gw3db Agreed with you. My numbers may be wrong. But the fact remains for Muslims if they are minority it is Interfaith Relationship, if they are majority it My way or No way.
@@SaqibKhan-gw3db so my question is that can a Sikh marry to a Muslim girl? Please reply the answer from Quran ayat. Thank you yarr👍. My English is weak. Do you speak Urdu?
@@sardarabneetsinghhoshiarpu1039 no
And from today's Christian and jewish, neither can a Muslim man marry nor a woman۔ In today era, marrying with non muslims for muslim mens and womens are forbide for both.
It is the unanimous decision of scholars that only men can marry Christian and Jewish women but not Muslim women.
Also during the Rashidun caliphate Umar barred Muslim men from marrying Christian women. So there is no question of Muslim women marrying outside of Islam.
Yeah in islamic scholars opinion muslim women cannot marry outside muslim guys.
But in the Quran (Allah’s words) doesn’t say Its haram (not ok in islam)

i am an atheist being inspired by buddhism, but my girlfriend is a muslima, it seems to matter for her more then for me, specially because of family connections who will condem her for it, thats her worst fear, but we want to marry, we already know there are these rare traveling imams who believe in the progression of interfaith marriage. its just not easy to walk a parth that is not flat yet, accepted by humans, its a search in our lives for now
This woman talks about interfaith relationship but forgets to mention the Hindu religion which Abrahmic religions love to hate. Then this woman goes on to preach what she herself has not done.
Learn about other religions. In this talk she is just trying to clean up the bad image of islam.
@Sultanate You mean islam?
@Sultanate 😂😂 same everywhere , my gf is so proud being from high class of Muslims
Paganism and idolatry is not a religion.
@@adityakaushal2751 she doesn't even an iota of Islam in her.

She can.

I am an agnostic and I married a Muslim woman. I can only do this because we live in a free Western country. Secular laws lead to the best societies.

Shaving Head is an Indian Culturistic ritual
The ritual she performed is same as in Hindus .
north indian only but
Appreciated
It’s a cute sentiment but wait until you have children or face life challenges that you can’t connect through.
Assalaamwalaikum ma'am. Can i guide me about your views on interreligious marriages?
No my sister you are a muslim , you should marry to a muslim guy only
ask a scholar or ask Quran if you really want to follow Islam
Marriage happen between men and women and love is responsible, not between religion and fear. Marry whom ever is good and respectful to you.
@@MdAzharSPB actually, Surah Maida 5:5 says ppl of book is allowed.
@@EndlessMagic7 Only men can marry the women of the peoples of books
@@MdAzharSPB the ayat that "forbids" if u say so, the inter faith marriages was said for both men and women. Quran always set the same rules for men and women until said otherwise. And there is no ayat specifically forbidding just women to not marry non muslims...
Being a Muslim I can marry anyone except idolatry. Specially I would not mind to a Christian girl who has knowledge of his religion.
😍😍😍😍
The "common truth" is this: TRUTH IS THE WORD OF GOD AND THE WORDS THAT JESUS SAID. If all faiths accept this as "common truth", we will all become "children of God in the family of God or the Kingdom Of God as reported when Jesus walked. Thus, the words that Jesus said have been used to create the True Happiness P:lan which can be followed by mankind as "common ground" so we can be one TO WORSHIP GOD IS SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.

Practicing Christians be very very very weary of interfaith which Jesus Christ God of gods never lived, practiced or preached. The Holy Bible warns us of dissension & wolves in sheeps' clothing. HE told us to spread the Good News which is The Holy Bible alone. All else is lies from lucifer, the father of lies so STOP wasting time. Peace.
Do all little gods pray in a church? What a congregation that would be.
Spoken like a Fox News viewer and Trump supporter
Jesus Christ preached love, not hate. We're going to need interfaith to grow as humanity. Theres no way around it without greed
What she speaks is not true.
if you are called by a Muslim then practice it, at least you can cover your head.
Who are you to judge? Just coz she doesn't observe the hijab on her head doesn't mean she doesn't observe it in her character. It is between her and Allah. That goes for any Muslim woman who doesn't wear the hijab. Part of you hijab as a man is for you not to be so judgemental in your character.
@@happysmiles4339 SubhanaAllah... Calm down please. Do you know in Islam, hijab is obligatory on the girl? If you don't know then do some research before you defend the wrong. I am not judging and I observed because she is wrong. In Islam, you will be able to live according to the rules of Allah. That is why we have to live the life of Mohammad peace be upon him. There is no such thing as Islam. No new methods are allowed. or you can do what you want...

What? That is insulting. You don't know how she practices her faith. She may be a better Muslim than you or she may be worse in her faith. But you don't know that, I don't know that either. God knows. Please stop painting people with broad brush stroke assumptions. Covering your head does not suddenly make you a good Muslim and not covering your head does not automatically make you a bad Muslim. Don't dismiss her speech because of her hair, I think their is valuable insight to be learned. Thanks.
