Is true, in an interview a few years back,Paul said it was never about a girl. He continued stating it's about he and John riding around London looking for weed. Love this guy.
This song was re-released as the b-side single with Helter Skelter in 1976, and hit the top 10. For years I thought it was a 70’s song as a kid. I had no idea it was 10 years old!
Just so you know, earlier that year (1966) the group *The Association* released their first hit, *Along Comes Mary* which was also a song praising marijuana. It also used the device of pretending to be singing about a woman "Mary" who is so welcome when she shows up. It also happens to be a really great song. You'll definitely want to react to it...
This is Paul's love song to CANNABIS. He had to get it into his life. Paul has had about 5 arrests for marijuana, mostly at airports (Japan, London....)
Not many rock bands can write Motown - Macca's thumping bass in this song is incredible. This is a great example of why entire albums should be reacted too, instead of songs individually. You capture more of its invention, it's place, it's reason amongst the album. And you're right! Song is not long enough! Bu that was he '60's standard.
You guys are great You should do every one of the Beatles songs that's about 214 including covers. People will like me will watch everyone you do. And we will tell you all the backstory behind every song.
I remember this being re-released as a single in the US, it was in 1976. Capitol Records released a compilation album of Beatles' tracks called Rock & Roll Music. Both album and single did did very well on the charts in 1976.
McCartney was a master at writing a song lyric that could be seen as meaning more than one thing. The song lyric works perfectly as being about a boy/girl relationship - but it's actually his ode to weed.
That's the thing about the Beatles the song Dennison always mean what you think it means at first there are deeper meanings in their songs. These people's minds were enhanced in some way.
G'day folks. That is very funny. From what I have read, Paul was the first one to admit to taking LSD. They must have been at different parties. Although, it is on record that Bob Dylan introduced them to pot in 1964. Before that, especially in Hamburg (10,000 hours!), it was speed. Go figure.
Bob Dylan introduced them to pot haha .... 1959 to 1965 was alcohol and soft pills possibly a bit of coke. Then 65 to 67 was pot. Then 67 to 68 was Acid , Then 68 to 69 was a mixture of everything with John trying Heroin for a short while. You guys should do a reaction to a little documentary on them there are hundreds on here :) Much love from the UK! x
Yeah, the EW&F version kicks..., and it's pretty damn funky!! Good bones, doncha know. 😅👍🏼🎺🎷Oops, no trombone emoji. 😬 🤪 Second the suggestion/request/opinion that 'Along Comes Mary' by the Association is a worthy next song about weed. ✌🏼😊🎶❤️🍁❤️✨️🕊
Paul wasn't hiding anything. He tried acid several times, but found it a bit overwhelming. Pot was easier on the brain cells for him, as it also was for me as a working musician at the time. LSD was something we could both trip out with, but it was a little too intense for us to work with creatively on the spot. Acid would give you major hallucinogenic trips. Pot would just relax you, make you laugh, and not take yourself too seriously...which was also great for your music. As for LSD, we'd have to wait a few days to figure out musically what we had experienced. However, some musicians thrived on their acid trips as they were happening. So it goes.
I think you young people would describe scribe this as a Banger, to be honest I've been a little irritated on some of your Beatles reactions t this is your best reaction so will immediately check out your reaction To tomorrow never knows next . Maybe check out Strawberry fields forever and Helter skelter next.
Paul admitted he did LSD in an interview later. You can find both John and Paul briefly talking about the repercussions. ruclips.net/video/-ZZxxoHuEvk/видео.html
That little jangly guitar bit towards the end is brilliant!
What a tune, what an album, what a band!! The greatest and it's not even close 🍻
Is true, in an interview a few years back,Paul said it was never about a girl. He continued stating it's about he and John riding around London looking for weed. Love this guy.
Amazingly, this song was released as a single 10 years after it appeared on "Revolver" and went to #7 in the US. The Beatles are timeless.
This was the first song that got me to be a Beatles fan.

The Earth Wind & Fire version of this is arguably the best Beatles cover ever.

Another pretend song is Britney Spears "If You Seek Amy" which is not at all about Amy.
This is Paul's love song to CANNABIS. He had to get it into his life. Paul has had about 5 arrests for marijuana, mostly at airports (Japan, London....)
John, Paul and Ringo's families were Irish, coming to England around the turn of the century (1900+ -) George's family has a long English history.
Más buen desamor
Love seeing the happy reaction, thank you both

Paul had two fantastic Beatles tracks that sounded like love songs but were something else: "Got to Get You Into My Life" and "Martha My Dear."
I remember this being re-released as a single in the US, it was in 1976. Capitol Records released a compilation album of Beatles' tracks called Rock & Roll Music. Both album and single did did very well on the charts in 1976.
Paul's song about WEED ! which he loves so much
Paul didn't do acid until well into recording Sgt Pepper, the album after this.
Awesome song by Paul!!!
McCartney was a master at writing a song lyric that could be seen as meaning more than one thing. The song lyric works perfectly as being about a boy/girl relationship - but it's actually his ode to weed.
So many great songs by these guys!!! WOW!!!!
That's the thing about the Beatles the song Dennison always mean what you think it means at first there are deeper meanings in their songs. These people's minds were enhanced in some way.
It was Dr Robert from the revolver album that turned the Beatles on to LSD without their knowledge He mixed it in their drinks at dinner.
Love your energy for these Beatles songs
Now you come to Tomorrow Never Knows.....get ready
Indeed

You gotta do "And Your Bird Can Sing", right??
Two more songs from the Revolver sessions that were solely on a single, Paperback Writer & Rain you need to cover as well.
You guys rock

Bob was more of a 70’s lad.
Nice reaction, you’ll like the next track I’m sure..
Just another fantastic track on an album that would be any bands Greatest Hits album. Paul loves his weed. Paul and John were melody machines!
Gotta hear the EW&F version now. It was a big hit.
❤❤

Tbh, listen to Earth, Wind & Fire's cover of the song - even Paul said their version was better.
But for me Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers version is better than both.
check out EWF'S cover! they took it and stole it! they made it their OWN! the original version sounds like a demo compared to the EWF!!
Musta been some damn good weed.
Dude
You’re Liverpool accent sounds like Apu from the Simpsons
