Ford Expedition - LIFTGATE / TAILGATE WON'T OPEN? (2007-2014)

- Ford Expedition has power operated liftgate and liftgate glass release buttons. If there is no power coming to those switches, you can't lift up the tailgate ( 2007 | 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | MAXX | EL | 5.4L ).
Both of these liftgate buttons are on the same power circuit. So if both don't work, most likely you just have a burnt fuse. If just one of the power buttons doesn't work, then most likely there is a problem within that button (switch) itself. Watch the video to see the location of the liftgate power fuse.
If your Ford Expedition is equipped with power tailgate which opens up after pushing the button, you will have 2 additional fuses to check. One is located under the front hood, and the other one in the passenger compartment.
From my experience, most often the problem is just in the burnt fuse.
Thanks for watching.

Super ❤❤❤❤
Thanks
How can i replace the button from the tailgate? That button wont open but the other one it does
Hi, first check the fuse. Then test if power is coming to the button using multimeter. If it is that means the button (switch) failed and will have to be replaced. I don't have that car right now so I could check how to replace it, but probably you would have to remove that complete liftgate handle and then get the switch out. You would have to remove the inner liftgate trim panel to access mounting screws. But don't hold me for a word as I can't double check
I have a 2008 Ford Expedition Limited, the lift gate just stopped working this weekend, nothing happens when actuated from the door button or the key fobs. Lift gate works OK. I checked the 30A fuse under the hood, fuse was good and 12v is getting to fuse, I swapped the fuse anyways (no help). I also checked both 10A and 20A fuses in passenger kick panel, they were OK as well. What should I check next? Is there anyway to open the lift gate manually in this state?
Probably the liftgate actuator failed. Most likely you will have to try and remove the inner panel from the liftgate and try to manually open it then. I did that on couple of Ford Escapes, never on Expedition thou
Great thank you !
You are welcome!
What do you do when it tries to kill you? It will slam you in the head and keep forcing itself closed.
Lol mines do that 😂
Thank you help me
Happy to help
Litigate opens it self.
So how do I open it manually lol
Unfortunately probably you would have to remove inner plastic trim and manually pull the latch
Thank you
