Wicked. Richmond getting the props they deserve 🔥.
People don't know how diverse this place is. I have lived here since the 90's, it's growing so fast.
@@seancowan908 Same here! It's like an undiscovered Austin, TX in a lot of ways. Maybe we shouldn't tell people about it? 😅
Richmond native currently living in Texas, it’s truly a place like no other especially in the skateboarding world. I miss it!!
I'm a Texas native living in Houston about to make the move to Richmond with my wife in the next month or so and seeing this has me beyond excited to get out there. I've always loved the crust and it's good to see Richmond is full of it. 🤙 #crustylife
As a native Richmonder, (south side, midlo, represent!!) It's great to see some love towards some of my fave spots growing up! Def crusty, but so are we en general!! RIP Dominion Skate shop
truth
Loved those boards
Sup, neighbor?
some of my first decks were Dominion growing up!! Best shop in the world RIP
I've lived in Virginia my whole life and had no idea how big the skate scene was in Richmond. We just lost our local park, Moyer, so seeing the great park and spots makes me want to visit sometime.
Yea its like that
this is like every overlooked community's dreammmm
so freaking fun and creative and unique, god damn so inspiring
Nothing cooler than seeing vibrant skate scenes. That river bowl is so rad
This is amazing I'm from the 757 Portsmouth Virginia have a lot of friends that helped work on a lot of these spots that were in this video... Super cool seeing Richmond getting some recognition
Clicked on this video because I spent about 3 years living in Norfolk (5 points area) back in 2012. Richmond kind of reminds me of my hometown but larger. Lots of diy spots around here.
Northside skatepark was brand new at the time, and I mainly just went there. Sometimes I would go to this little pocket park over in Hampton to skate the coolest mini ramp around. Good times
Pistol city waddup! Shout out to our local, hard times skate shop
I used to live in Virginia Beach back in the Hotline days. That shop was dope.
Another P-Town resident here lol 😆 yes seeing Richmond get it's recognition for its skate scene and skate spots is awesome!
Awesome footage of a lot of great talent! I have to say my son is part of this and I couldn't be more proud!
I haven't been over to Texas Beach in waaaayyy too long. I am so happy it's grown up so much!
Seen almost all of them being at least plus 30's inspired me to go back to skating, I'm 28 yo and healing years of depression. Thank you.
Richmond is the f*uckin truth so many good people streets are so fun to skate
Cool to see the scene so strong. I grew up skating in Richmond in the late 90s and early 2000s. These new parks are on a whole new level. All we had was Pole Green Park.
We had Lakeside too. Laurel.
hahahaha Dude I will never forget burning myself on those metal ramps. The Blind demo there was the shit though
what was the one in ashland?
@@martinllork807 pufferbelly park.
@@biggienorm420 legit thx
VA is back on the map baby. Love to see it
discovered the river bowl when i moved to richmond three years ago and its still my favorite place to go!
Hi I'm from Florida and want to say Richmond is awesome,go skate.
I loved visiting Richmond for years. Such an incredibly cool place filled with awesome people.
It’s also very good to see Jamie Reyes is still involved with skating. I remember seeing her on a DVD in the early 2000s all about this group of girl skaters. That DVD was dope.
Im a Richmonder, thank you for showing the city i love in a way that others can love too!
Lived in RVA for about 14 years, and slowly watched the scene almost die and then come smashing back into what it is now. RIP Dominion Skate Shop, big up Fist City.
Love Richmond! Only stayed there about 6months but everyone was inviting and genuine. Shout out to the homies Josh and Danny!
Some of my best skating memories are from when I lived from off of Staples Mill and Broad. Nowhere quite like RVA.
Thalbro & 50th?
Born & raised baby! Big ups to Red Bull for showing us love. Dominion / Venue are truly Richmond legends man.
Hell yeah!! Richmond in the house, so many familiar faces 😊
As someone who grew up in Richmond love to see this
Thankful to be able to skate this for weeks at a time for trips skate with Gilbert and Richmond homies are always respectful and never have negativity and love the sketchy spots❤️❤️and times there
I filmed part of my last music video in the River Bowl. It's cool to see how much the skate scene has grown in RVA. Peace and Blessings
I live in RVA and they built a small skate park like a year ago a mile from my way on the southside of Richmond. It's lit on a nice day outside.
there’s nothing like hearing that sound on the regular!
Ty for making this . Really special
It's so great to see how the scene here has evolved. I searched this city for spots many times in the late 90s on saturday trips while livng in Raleigh. I wish that I found some of these spots. It's always had a crusty side but there is a very unique charm to this place.
Glad Red Bull showing RVA some love..I remember trying to Get Red Bull to sign me as a Roller Skater 13 years ago..Loves my videos and sent me a ton Red Bull to apartment but said they had no clue on how to market rollerskating...RVA needs this exposure..Good Job..👍🏽
this shit is awesome, thank you for spotlighting this (obviously amazing) community. diy skating brings people together like nothing else!! also the RIVER BOWL is CRAZY!!!

Rad! Always happy to see some respect shown to East Coast Skaters and spots! What a cool culture in Richmond.
Fun seeing a video where I've seen most these people either in the shop or at the park

My two year old is obsessed with watching the skaters at 28th St. love how our city is empowering this community to grow organically
What a dream life they all livin. And not by accident, they all work for it to have it that way! I respect this so much! Sad to say I am only in a "I wish phaze". Hopefully I´ll build smt my own soon :) What an inspiration!
So proud to see my city like this
Richmond has always been hard to skate and its the main reason i quit theres just nothing to skate but im glad to see people found a way around it!
I go to VCU here, awesome to see yall making a vid about the skate culture here!!!
The best skate memories of my life are from when I lived in Richmond! Deshazo, Burke, Pockets, Viles, Swyers, Drew, Erik, J, and many more can be seen terrorizing the 'crete of TxB on a frequent basis: best dudes & best DIY!! (Nacho should've had a clip in this though, if you know you know)
True skate spirit right here.
Fuckin rad! Thanks for showcasing RVA!!
This is so cool finally va getting recognition
This is awesome!
Richmond native. I am so proud to be part of the history!
I went to elementary school with McNeely. Pretty sure he talked about skating since he was like 3. Cool that he’s still out there doing his thing.
So Rad! Keep this shit up . You all should be proud of what you have done already and the future is wide open :)
Digging this edit
So SICK
Dope!! Love the city
This was Awesome!! Love to see !! Love to see \''/, RVA
Yea we been skating the U of R spillway since the mid 80's!
Lets goooooo!!! We love RVA!!! Its the place to be!!!
Great video
Bro as a virginian I cried watching this bc I love the richmond skate scene we have
When COVID hit the City brought in dump trucks and dumped massive mounds of mulch over all the city skateparks bc yk back then they thought it was safer to lock everyone indoors breathing each other's air than be outside at skateparks with natural wind circulation... swung by a couple days later and the skaters had piled the masses of mulch into towering heaps, threw ramps on top of them and stuck rails into them, and swept the rough concrete between the mounds to create (temporary) obstacles to skate that were better than anything there was before... RVA is a hella gritty urban environment, these skaters are friggin undeterred
Love 2 see it!! VA 🔝
That was awesome!
From the short to part. Lol
@@_CORVUS good point!

Man this takes me back to my childhood in RVA.
Anyone remember that local skate vid, Bumwine, when it premiered at the Byrd?

Skateboarding and Punk Rock. RVA.. it doesn't get better. Cheers from Utah.
I loved it back then, in Richmond VA 😆
Alright good shit. I'll head on over
When I went down to Richmond last year for the rumble in Richmond I asked one of my buddies where there’s any spots or skateparks n he said go to Texas beach went there met all the locals n I felt like I was there second family then the locals told us about all the other spots around seriously one of the best scenes around
Much love for the RVA boys

Being from Richmond.
I remember when I used to get clowned for skateboarding. I stopped because of it. Gonna get a board.

River bowl looks scary. Wonder how many skateboards have gotten flung in the river at high water to never be recovered
