For anyone interested, those POSCA paint pens she showed are fantastic & very colour fast (I’m talking 10yrs+ later, the painting hasn’t faded). They also come in another type with a mostly white tube off memory too & come in different sizes. I had a friend who used to be an art teacher. He’s passed away now but 10yrs+ ago, he had a TON of those paint pens & we did a painting together which we just did on the back of a cheap plastic table cloth with the thin cotton backing (when a art teacher really wants to paint but doesn’t have a canvas, they’ll use anything I guess😂). They’re also very opaque too. He went back over lines to make them a different colour when he wasn’t happy with the colouring & you’d never know cause whatever colour we did on top, totally covered whatever was underneath. He let me keep it when we were done & only last week I came across it again after having it stored in a shed out bush for years in QLD weather & there’s no fading whatsoever after all these years & no cracking or peeling where the folds were either (Luckily cause I forgot it was out there😬)…. They’re expensive (at least where he got them 10yrs+ ago anyway) but I can say they’re definitely worth it if that’s your thing & whatever you paint will be quality for many years. The kind he had were bullet tip but pretty sure he had a few fat ones that had angled tips too in white & black). They’re very easy to use too, very smooth & truly are paint!! They’re a matte-like finish, actually, similar to chalk paint, maybe just slightly less “chalky”. They did have that “typical paint smell” to them back then (dunno if they still do) so TBH, I think they give off fumes (if they’re still the same) so be careful not to breathe it in & work in a well ventilated area. but yeah, just incase anyone was curious, I thought I’d mention it cause they used to be really expensive & anything that’s expensive, you want to be sure your investment is worth it long term. I can say they’re definitely quality & don’t fade, crack or peel long term & are very opaque. I don’t think you can “mix” the colours though because off memory, they dried very fast, only slightly slower than a permanent marker would for example. Much love to all!!! 💜💜💜💜
omg! that is the cleanest workplace I have ever seen! I am so amazed! l mess up my whole house with all my craft :D but then again I do loads of different things. wirewraping, clay, wood, painting, mixed media, and so on. that cat is adorable! cute!
Had to giggle when I saw your dinosaur money box. I have something similar with my name that I got for a birthday when I was a teen. Thanks for letting us be nosey and see your craft space.
Rachy, this video gave me goosebumps, your area is so neat and clean. But if I may give a solution to store opened clay. Once I opened a clay or if it's a color I use a lot (and it's getting low) I ran the the remaining block through the pasta machine a few times and get it nice and smooth. Using the the largest (if you have the 3 pack) square shaped clay cutter I cut out as many squares as possible. Cut out the part from the original wrapper the section where the color of the clay is printed on and stick it on one of the squares. I have a roll of saran wrap just for my clay. Cut off the width of your square + a bit extra for each sides and layer the clay on it like an accordion. Make sure that the color id is on the very bottom facing out. Wrap it so if you pull the saran wrap you can just pick a precut clay. This way you always get the right amount, no wasting and bits of clay floating around. What is left from what you took off, can be re run through the pasta machine cut and wrapped back with the rest of the block. This way you can store your opened clay neatly and can see what you have on hand. Once one block is used up you take the color id cut out and either put it into your wallet or take a snapshot of it so you can see what you need to replace when you go to the store next time. Hope this can help
Absolutely enjoyed this video! I've been watching a lot of craft area tours lately and was super surprised when I saw this. Oh, and the sound effects when you open your clay drawer was super funny b/c I always make that type of sound in my head when somebody shows their clay, loved it! 💜
Sooo neat, I also have like this desk. There are 9 drawers in my desk, and I have books, CDs, some clay left, clay charms box, stationery things and craft things my favourite drawer is clay charms box desk and stationery desk.
Nice work space! you are a tidy person keep on the good work. So far i dont have a proper crafting space because my house is quite small and there is no place for me to make such a table for craft
I'm not completely done watching the video, but I love it so far!! You're such a big inspiration to me, and I'm always excited for new videos from you!! 💕😊
I watch your videos everytime you post one!! Im not much of a commentor but Im subscribed!! My fav charm well theres a few but the kite sticks out the most to me, love it, Im gonna make one inspired by you!! You have a ton of stuff lol.
Wow your desk looks so much like mine! I have all my tennis and netball trophies on top, and I'm just about to get into polymer clay to add to my crafty repertoire :) P.S. yay Aussies
So clean! ❤️❤️❤️❤️I also wanted to let you know that I got a 48 pack of chalk pastels, but they didn't have many neutral colors. It was bought at five below for $5.00. P.s. Looks like my cat! 😸
I swear every comment is "Craft area goals" or "WOW your craft area is so clean!" But when it comes to me, I have OCD. You will never find one thing out of place at my craft area. It's nice to have a clean area but after awhile, the OCD starts getting really annoying. But tho, you still have a really cute craft area Rachel!
omg i am crying for happiness right now... stabilo! telletubbies! bostik! smiggle! typo! kmart! etc. the accent! yay! i finally found an australian youtuber that does polymer clay😃 {I am an aussie too!}
i love how u take ur time to show a tour but everyone else is like."Ok so here is the tour. Theres my bed *points to bed* theres my closet *points to closet*. I also have my dresser *points to dresser*. Ok thats it for the tour bye!" But u take ur time and stuff so i like this vid alot
Love love your desk Rachel . Hope you post an updated one, hook me up if you have posted a new craft area tour. 😁 We’ve been watching your videos as my 8 y/o Darwin Gal wants to open up a clay charm biz. Hope it works out for her long term. 😉
I would look at ikea personally. I recently saw a desk for example that has like little extension you can roll out whenever you need it, which could be really useful for crafting. Also they have many different drawer things were you can store a lot of stuff. And what I like best about them is that the price is usually not too high but the quality of the furniture is quite good :)
Madre del amor hermoso cuantas cositas tienes para manualidades alucino porque yo acabo de empezar a trabajar con fimo aunque te sigo y me encanta lo natural que lo explicas todo y lo claro un beso Rachel I love you so much :·
hi! was just wondering where you get your Fimo from?! I'm from australia to and every Fimo block i find its just like a solid rock so i end up not buying it. :(
I’m jealous. It’s so clean! I can’t keep mine this clean because i have a very playful all white cat with blue and yellow eyes, named Cotton(ah) ❤️ can you please pretty please do a tutorial for white tiger, wolf, and flying squirrel charms? Thank you!
I mainly get it from Spotlight, but also Lincraft and Riot. And it is expensive, but that's all we have here haha unless you buy online, but then postage is expensive :/
I'm sensing some OCD tendancies because your space is spotless! Mine is just barely organized but it can get out of shape quickly. And the idea of starting even another crafting hobby in polymer clay is just going to make it worse. Lol! I'm glad I found your channel! Subbed!
