  • Only three trains per day each way stop at doleham.
For some mad reason I decided to go on a long contry walk to Doleham. But when I got there I missed the train. it was several hours wait for the next one.

From platform level, Three Oaks and Doleham look very similar to each other. Both having very short platforms only able to accommodate the front coach of a class 171

    Rather lonely journey!
I think they should electrify that part of the line between Hastings and Ashford.

They are not allowed to because there are too many foot crossings on the line

@@tomt1228 I guess it is also the cost involved.

Why would that be a problem? Plenty of electrified lines are full of foot crossings, including the nearby Hastings and East Coastway lines.

Winchelsea and Three oaks now have a regular service but Doleham now only has 2 trains in each direction a day.

as of december 2010 the only station with this service pattern is doleham, with three oaks and winchealsea now having one train per 2 hours

Three oaks and winchelsea actually share services so if one train called at three oaks the next one in that direction wound call at winchealsea, there are 3 trains a day in both directions that call at doleham (obviously)

This video is from 2010 when Winchelsea and Three Oaks only had 3 trains a day the same as Doleham

Ironically Doleham has more passengers every year than both Three Oaks and Winchelsea...

Perhaps Southern should of ordered more Class 171 Turbostars and Class 377 Electrostars. Including extra Class 171s for the Marshlink Line and Uckfield Line and lots more Class 377s for the East Coastway Line and West Coastway Line and the Seaford, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton branch lines. And more Class 170s for East Midlands Railway.

I know why the station is doleham it's because it's doll
fact: doleham is the middle of nowhere and it's least used station.
fact 2: I know why doleham serve 3 train per day. it's because it the least used station
