    I just finished Song of Achilles
    I'm sobbing and screaming. It's not fair. Achilles treated patroclus horribly towards the end and Patroclus still went and died, did everything for Achilles. And Achilles loved him so much but was so lost that he didn't get to tell him. He was so desperate for Patroclus and didn't accept he was dead. And he wanted to die because he didn't have him. Achilles never got the chance to express how much he loved Patroclus. And they were separated, even in death until Thetis, who was the most unlikely to help Patroclus was the one to help him move on to the underworld so he could see Achilles in death. This book is too much, I won't ever be the same again 💔💔😭😭😭😭

      They were together since children the same as Alexander the Great and Hephaistion you decadent barbarians. They went thru everything together, they were philophers and real men bound by the institution of friendship which was sacred in Ancient Greece. No disgusting lie can ruin their image. Keep believing lies so you feel good about your abnormality

    I think something's wrong with me I read TSOA for the first time...at midnight while I was sick no less...and I didn't cry. I think I skipped depression, anger, bargaining and acceptance and I'm stuck in denial. BUT you know what? I'm gonna write wonderful scenarios in my mind. @@Mistry.holly143 good question. I don't know of any books that are super similar to SOA, but if you like the writing style Madelyn Miller has two more Greek mythology books "Circe" and "Galletea" (the second one is a short story). If you want books that will leave a lasting impression on you and (probably) make you cry then I recommend "The book thief" and "the perks of being a wall flower" the first one had me shaking crying at the end and the second one had me tearing up. Although if you want to dive more into the story of the Trojan war and the rage of Achilles I'll always recommend the OG the Illiad by homer. (Aka where SOA is based off of). Trust me it is super interesting. hope this helps

    • @Mistry.holly143
      @Mistry.holly143 3 месяца назад

      @@presleighe8126 omg thank you so much for writing in such detail. I will definitely check out those recommendations. I was scared to read the Iliad or one of the books as I thought it perceived Achilles as a bad man or smth (don’t know where I read that from) and I didn’t want it to change the experience of the song of Achilles for me but if that’s not true I won’t hesitate to read it. Don’t know if what I just wrote makes complete sense as it’s currently 1:33am. Also is Achilles and Patroclus still perceived as lovers on these other telling of Troy war, I know these other books aren’t based on them -it’s on women. Sorry for the long response! Thank you for replying!!

    Let me make you cry a bit more (SPOILER WARNING DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE BOOK!)
    Patroclus last thought before he died was "Achilles".
    The last thing Achilles mother told him was "I'm glad that he is dead."(talking about Patroclus)
    Practically Thetis "sold" Achilles body to that girl(Wich excuse the fact I don't remember her name TwT)
    At the end he was happy,like yeah he and Patroclus have been put through so much pain, mentally and physically,but at the end at last they will be together in the underworld.
