That why it was so deadly impact like here 2:41 (Chang hitted the ball on his head as a beginning of it) By the way, I totally forgot how beautiful were some stages in this game I played so much, 25 years ago ^^
95 was awesome! Yes, of course i love this type of content, more SNK is always welcome. Ah, KOF 95, i love the production values, but my God the Arcade mode is so dumb, also i heard the damage was really messed up on this one, even on 1v1 you could end a round with 2 combos. Anyway i still remember one of my proudest moments in this franchise, when i managed to beat this game with a single coin. Is nothing but an endurance of exploits, remembering patterns for each character and even some luck. I also remember Saisyu being very easy to defeat, there was an exploit of course, but you could almost guarantee the win against him on the first round, i remember i used Joe against him (i used the FF team), Terry was essential in the Rugal match since for some reason, you could bait him into charge mode so you could land an easy combo. Also and again for some reason, he always tried to dash whenever you did a Power Geyser or with Joe an Screw Upper at a certain distance and if that failed, Andy could lame him out with fireball. Sadly, I could never beat this game with other teams.
The reason I love watching you play these is that it is confirmation from my childhood that the computers were cheating. 20 Game Overs from Saisyu and Rugal. I feel you man, I feel you.
I remember spending most of my school meal allowance beating this game in the arcade, with my team Terry, Ryo, Robert. I remember only a few touches the KOF 95 & Samurai Showdown Amakusas Revenge machine. Older players keep telling me these 2 games are a cheat but I enjoyed as those 2 are my favorite.
This makes me feel less bad about how hard I used to find KOF AI 🤣 Would definitely be interested in seeing you do more KOF arcade mode runs 🙂 Goenitz, Orochi, Krizalid, Zero, lovable Igniz...so many cheap bosses 🤣🤣
The problem with those is that they are very easy to exploit, speciallyl igniz, igniz would be the hardest one ever if there wasn't a exploit in particular that trivializes the whole fight, actually 2 exploits. I think Magaki from XI is the hardest one but it has to be in the highest difficulty, XI is the only one where difficulty actually matters.
Orochi(kof97/98um) and both zeros(kof2000/2001) are pretty pathetic, igniz, krazilid and goenitz, magaki, mukai, chizuru/maki, Goodman, mizuchi, shion, dark ash, saiki they are included in the spams aswell.
@@WikiHL But those are not true reasons, in the case of KoF 99-01. You said it yourself that the games were 4v4 but 1 member as a Striker... so that makes the gameplay still a 3v3 in practical terms. So Snk could perfectly have left the teammates like before, that would still work the same way: 2 guys standing on the bg. And what reinforces the whole thing is KoF 02... which works in the classic system, and still there was no interest in bringing back the teammates on bg. So the thing is: we dont have the actual reason but it's safe enough to just keep the idea that Snk lost interest in that thing. The invention of the striker system isnt a real reason. It was a relevant mechanic in the Orochi Saga. If your lifebar was red and you were in a hold attack, you could mash A+B+C+D for an interrupt attack - but only if they were on-screen. IIRC, you also had to be eating raw damage, not blocking.

By the time strikers went away as a game factor, it had been years since we'd seen teammates in the background.

In this case Goro countered with his command grab, cutting any distance since Kyo´s attack reached his guard hence he was able to pull off the counter. 7:04 Benimaru made more damage because it was a C+D attack against Iori´s normal. C+D (also called "power attacks") knocks the opponent down, as you can see Iori was knocked while Beni landed on his feet.

I remember never finished this game in arcade. Just do it years later on Neogeo. Plus there were many fistfights over this game at arcade in my region (I think it was because you can lame opponent out with full-meter absurd damage.) so I prefered to sit at the corner and play SFA quietly.

The hardest boss in any fighting game, and I've played a lot of fighting games, is Arcana Heart 3: Love Max's boss. You fight her as either Trial 10 in trial mode or as the last boss of Score Attack. I believe it's harder in trial mode. There's like one decent way to beat her but it requires a certain character.
There’s a few “standard” tricks you’re not aware perhaps. 1) For Iori, back youself to your own corner, throw a fireball and wait for CPU to jump, then you can air juggle him till death (2 hits, pause, 2 hits). 2) for Kyo, slowly push CPU to corner, you can do the Dodge + Fireball kick twice (light kick then heavy kick), basically it’s an infinite combo as well. 3) when your power bar is full, you can “counter” when you do any special move while still in your block animation. With the above, you can beat level 8 easily.
But I like this game. Yesterday, I played the AES version on medium (equivalent to level 3 MVS version) as Ryo, Terry and Robert. I lost not a single match against the main roster, but Saisyu and the OP a.f. O. Rugal manged it to melt my four credits away in a few minutes! 😂
This was one of the first fighters I played back in the 90's. My university had this game in the Arcade room. Using a roll of quarters it was expensive to try and beat this game. It makes me feel good to know that the great JW had a hard time beating this game as well. 👍
On Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on SNES whenever I get to the ninja boss with one hit left I die. Then when I replay and get to him with full or near full health I beat him perfectly lol
I also recommend trying Kaneko Fighting games! They made Shogun Warriors, Blood Warrior (set it to level 8 difficulty), Power Athlete, and the Jackie Chan arcade game that it actually exists. The Jackie Chan game has a more SNK feel to it is than Mortal Kombat. Not to mention the high damage…
There’s also another fighting game by Kaneko called Kageki but it’s more of an isometric pit fighter style not a 2d style. And it’s also really hard and I recommend the arcade version, the mega drive version is pure garbage. It’s the worst port in the entirely of the Kaneko library. (Port was co developed by Sages Creation)
I love this type of content! Please do more King of Fighters arcade runs! Especially with the rage with all the cheap and overly harsh and hard bosses! I recommend King of Fighters XI or XIII for the bosses they contain! Thank you so much for posting SNK content and I hope to see more in the future!

I beat her with Lilica after.....56 retries? She's nuts.
Rumor has it Skynet was inspired by SNK's AI.
If a guy who won several fighting game tournaments still struggles like that when playing KoF then i dont feel so bad when i do it too. 🤣👍
14:54 the intensity of the music syncs to the timer. Haha 😂
More like this especially the 90's 3d ones. I love the struggle.
The moments with ryo’s “ahh!!” LUL
The worst part is losing all of your guys to the first half of the boss 😭😭😭
There’s a few “standard” tricks you’re not aware perhaps.
1) For Iori, back youself to your own corner, throw a fireball and wait for CPU to jump, then you can air juggle him till death (2 hits, pause, 2 hits).
2) for Kyo, slowly push CPU to corner, you can do the Dodge + Fireball kick twice (light kick then heavy kick), basically it’s an infinite combo as well.
3) when your power bar is full, you can “counter” when you do any special move while still in your block animation.
With the above, you can beat level 8 easily.
It took me many tries to complete kof 95 I literally cried for it
That was probably the idea. So Snk devs succeeded.
'95 was awesome and this really brings back memories. Just wait until you bring in guard canceling from MAX and it takes it to a whole new level.
holy cow this is just level 4 difficulty
But I like this game. Yesterday, I played the AES version on medium (equivalent to level 3 MVS version) as Ryo, Terry and Robert. I lost not a single match against the main roster, but Saisyu and the OP a.f. O. Rugal manged it to melt my four credits away in a few minutes! 😂
IORI IS AWESOME EVER SINCE "95
thanks JW
We used to play the PS1 version of 95, it had terrible loading times but the music was mad awesome and still is jamming. 🤣
Please play arcana hearts 3 and fight the true final boss, Parace L'sia. It's near impossible despite her low health.
This was one of the first fighters I played back in the 90's. My university had this game in the Arcade room. Using a roll of quarters it was expensive to try and beat this game. It makes me feel good to know that the great JW had a hard time beating this game as well. 👍
All those times you made it to rugal with one character and lose then when you make it with three you only need one character 😂
On Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on SNES whenever I get to the ninja boss with one hit left I die. Then when I replay and get to him with full or near full health I beat him perfectly lol
I about spit out my water when he said “Terry from Smash”.
Probably the most difficult KOF to finish without cheating. Play KOF 96 in the hardest mode.
2:51 walks forward and does a charge motion :D (same as Guile's flash kick) classic AI
You should try to play kof 11.
Magaki playing Bullet Hell all day
I would love it if you went through the entire KOF series like this. I really enjoyed this and laughed my ass off at your frustration lol
Rugal's evil plans have been ruined..... by a time out.
Watching Justin lose vs the computer makes me feel less bad about getting my ass wopped... LOL
“Befeated” 😂
SNK figured, to hell with spell check, no ones ever gonna see this screen anyway lol
*Justin presses a button*
SNK AI: 👀
I know this pain playing it on ps1. This was my introduction to snk bosses. At the age of 6.
"there's no sheep character in KOF"
ryo: 12:29
"fair" you can hear the SNK gods mocking laughter at the thought.
Your commentary in this video is pretty funny. :'-) the fade to white when you k.o. the last guy kills me..
I love this type of content! Please do more King of Fighters arcade runs! Especially with the rage with all the cheap and overly harsh and hard bosses! I recommend King of Fighters XI or XIII for the bosses they contain! Thank you so much for posting SNK content and I hope to see more in the future!
