As MINI celebrates its 60th birthday, it makes sense to take a look back at how far the venerable little city car has come.
Truly, it’s amazing how much the Mini has changed in 60 years. We all know new MINIs are giants compared to their older friends, but it doesn’t mean the 2019 model has lost its true Mini essence. It is still fun to drive, is loaded with character, and is proud of its heritage. Here’s to another 60 years of happy Mini motoring.

I want an old mini 😭
I love the old one, much more
Thanks for your feedback!
I love the old mini, lives up to its name more I could see myself driving it with joy
That new mini looks huge compared to the original one!
Ya I know right. It looks like a freaking Crossover beside it.😂
No modern car is particularly smaller than a new mini. That’s how it should be compared ☺️
There is nothing mini about the new mini
yet still small compared to any other vehicle on the road in the last 30 years.
What a great video - thank you for creating this!
3:57 "Listen to this!" * Sound of a man delivering an extended, lackadaisical fart into a partially closed metal trash can *
Seriously, though, I'm always really impressed by how the old Mini comes out on top for basically all metrics other than safety in comparisons like these. Makes a man want to re-introduce them with improved safety to put the cat among the bulbous, overweight automotive pigeons. Great video.
And how a size of wheels has changed during decades.
Miss you Bean😭😭
I would love to see the original mini come back, don't care for the new one, one other care was the LE Car it was also a fun car to drive.
Thanks for watching!
I wonder who you'd have to convince to be able to sell newly assembled mini kits. You can buy brand new bodyshells now, after all.
Gosh those things are smaller than Smart Cars and yet people thought they were odd. 😑
Good Stuff.
Amazing comparison, I prefer the older mini they are so fun to drive, allthough I must say the interior in that one in the video is wrong, the rear seats hump in the middle means it belongs to the later model "leylands"
The old one looks so little. Even when you compare it to the new ones they are tiny.
Only car these days to give you such satisfaction from its small size is probably the Abarth 595 or 695
Lol with Aussie laws... cornering at 30kph... ooooh, I'm so excited...
New minis are no way mini ,they are larger than the vent a Suzuki samurai!
Like like mini cars
Imagine if Mr bean replaced the old mini with the new mini
Mr Bean
BMW turd mini 💩 original mini very cool 😎
english mini better
It's not even a mini anymore and it doesn't deserve that name and it never will to me
