The top 5 cartridges for hog hunting based on our use in the field and give you the reasons why we like them. We run down the pros and cons of each hog hunting caliber based on ballistics and stopping power, availability, and what type of rifles are available for each of them. Starting with the 223 Remington we discuss bullet selection for hog hunting and how to be successful. we also look at the very popular 308 Winchester because of the stopping power and ammo available for it. Of course we cover the 243 Winchester, our favorite for coyotes as well as hogs and two new short cartridges that are becoming more popular the 6.5 Grendel and the 22 Nosler.

Hogs Destroy Crops & Hay Fields. Hog hunting at night is fun for some people, but for others it is necessary to protect crops, especially in the spring during planting season. Hogs root up freshly planted corn, bean and peanut fields and young plants after they sprout. They are also very destructive to pastures. We help farmers protect their crops by taking as many of these over populated feral hogs as possible by hunting. There is no limit and you can hunt them night or day.

Killing feral hogs isn't just about hunting, it's also about controlling a destructive, dangerous, and invasive species so while a humane kill is a noble goal, it's entirely excusable to take chances in favor of taking out as many as possible, so 223/556 in an AR platform is compelling: low recoil, cheaper and lighter rounds, and large magazines mean more dead hogs.
You do not have to appear humane if you hunt.Hunting is supposed to be fun. Sick people kill for fun. And even if doing a public service, it's not about the kill, it's about the hunt. If you hunt you now there isn't a perfect shot. You might hit the game exactly in the same area, BUT it's a living thing and not always will drop instantly. BUT you dam well try your best to recover it. Hunting ethics. Hunters are not killers, Most do it because something in you(genes?) make you a Hunter, No one in my family was a hunter or gun friend. Did it myself with self made slingshot before 10, An Air rifle a bit after 10. and a shotgun by 19. Even some Hunter children don't like it. But most do
What do they do with fereal hog carcasses?
@@georgevavoulis4758 They are lean, nutritious pork, better for you than grocery store pork.
@@georgevavoulis4758 I harvest the meat but many just leave it for the coyotes.
Could not disagree more. When you kill an animal, whether it eradicating a pest, hunting, slaughter, or putting down a beloved pet, you owe the animal as painless a death as can be given.
I don’t care how awful hogs are, and yeah they’re pretty bad, it’s not about them -it’s about you. It’s about your character.
To be clear, I hunt hogs. I’ll take a few this week. Heck, I just finished dinner (Pasta with Boar).
No matter why you’re killing, kill clean. Otherwise you are a not much better than a pig.
6.8spc works great for me! If you want a 223, give the 77gr razor core or the 79gr DRT. Both are awesome. But I can say the 79gr DRT is one of my favorites for hogs. I have killed hundreds on my farm. I can only give my opinion from what I have seen with my own eyes. The 77gr razor core and the 79gr DRT never let me down.
Those 77 need a different twist ? 1:8 ?
I’ve killed plenty with a .223, but my go-to is my .45/70 guide gun
.308 win. Inexpensive-Accurate -hits HARD! Think Ruger SFAR with the 20 in bbl. LIGHTS OUT !
Thank for your insights - that helped me out a ton.
I like the 7mm-08 myself..it does a good job 👏 👍
762x39 is absolutely the best. Hits as hard as a 30-30, and barely has anymore recoil than a .556
Try it with a suppressor or Witt Machine SME. Then it truly will have no more recoil than .556.
You got that right.
Awesome video. Only one I don't have is the 260 Nosler but I think my .22 250 fills that gap. Very informative and well explained, thanks.
6.5 Grendel 💪👍
Really enjoyed your video and your logic behind each cartridge. I really love the 6.5 grendel as it fits perfectly the type of hunting I do for hogs and deer. The 308 packs a lot of power but the recoil is too much compared the grendel. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Sir!!!
I use a 8mm Mauser out of a 1938 Kar98K. Works great
Great cartridge and a great rifle!👍
Me too.
Norma Vulkan,Sierra Game King and Nosler Partition bullet my favourite🐗
Thanks for the video. It’s nice to have you explaining the different cartridges without the usual “this cartridge is best and don’t use this one.” I’m shooting close, mostly in wooded areas, and taking out one hog at a time and rarely getting a second shot on scattering hogs. I use the Barnes VOR-TX 223 55 gr. TSX Hollow Point. I’m shooting 150-300 lb hogs and they drop. I use a thermal scope, not a super expensive one, so the almost negligible recoil keeps it from malfunctioning.
Thise Barnes bullets are dynamite on hogs. Good choice. 👍
I have a Savage Axis .223 with a Boyds feather weight stock, it's my cheapest rifle. Accuracy is amazing and it's killed more pigs than any of my other rifles. I reload my own brass and feed it 55gr sp and 55gr fmj one for one. I'm yet to see the hog it can't kill.
Honorable mention for 300 AAC Blackout.
In the woods of central Tennessee, it's .30-30 lever action all day long. Really, any handy big game rifle you can shoot quickly with reasonable accuracy will get the job done.
My top 5 are 7.62x39, 6mm arc, 6.5 grendel, 308 Winchester, and 300blk.
7.62x39 is my favorite, hands down. In a solid AK, you can firepower, accuracy, and capacity.
I really like the 7.62 x 39, .308 Winchester, .300 AAC Blackout and 6.5 x 39 Grendel. A friend the other day said he believed .300 Blackout was going away after thirteen years of now being around. I disagreed. .300 Blackout can do things 5.56 x 45 cannot and is very versatile using 85 grain all the way to 220 bullets. As long as AR-15 rifles are plentiful in the United States the .300 Blackout will be around. I think one of the best supersonic loads would be a .300 Blackout using a 100 grain bullet with a sixteen inch barrel.
And cheap to shoot
@@countryboytcm that's a bonus
Nice watch
One old guy to another, the only cartridge designed specifically for hog hunt that I know of is the 300 Hamr. Out of a 16” barrel it has the same velocity as the Grendel out of a 24” barrel with a bigger frontal mass. Not a common cartridge but neither is the Grendel. Super easy proposition if you’re a reloader. If you’re within 200 yards and want a sub MOA cartridge with no real recoil in a short 16” AR that weighs less than 8lbs loaded there maybe nothing better!
Here in Florida, on gulf of Mexico side about halfway north/south. Well since there is so much thickness about the woods and area you find them that I found 22 mag and 22 hornet are just absolute killers. Right around the neck ear area, head shots... they never even got the chance to run.
Well sir, you make some great points. I have a little different situation. We shoot a lot of hogs. So, we are going for an economic round. For years we used 7.62x39 because of the cheap Russian Steel Cased Ammo. Now that they Embargoed Russia that supply has dried up and in turn the price went up. It does a great job on hogs and I have a lot of that ammo but, hate to shoot it because we can't replace it. Now some folks are gonna take offense to what I type next. Me and my hunting buddy have both switched to pistol caliber. Me using 9mm and him 45acp. Just plain old Ball Rounds. The 45 does a little better if you are really close but, is still pricey. The 9mm will give total penetration most of the time and either caliber will leave a blood trail that Ray Charles can follow. It is not unusual for us to shoot 50 rounds a night 2 or more nights a week. A box of 50 9mm is around 15 bucks. So, there is the reason I use it. Is it unethical? You be the judge. I say it is unethical to root up my hay patch. One thing is for sure a 9mm in the head or neck will drop them in there tracks...the old bur of the ear shot. A 9mm in the boiler room, let's just say...that hog want be rooting up the fields after that.
A PPC 9mm or 45 packs plenty of punch. Blast'em!!
@@Theolddeerhunters I agree but, it is not ideal.
@@Theolddeerhunters I've never used one, but for this kind of hunting I'm very interested in 0.44 Magnum Carbine. Do you have any experience with that.
@@artsmith103 44 and 357 from a Carbine is great for hogs under 100 yds. You get a lot more power from with the longer barrel than a pistol. My Marlin & Ruger 77/357 158 gn loads chrono'd around 2000 fps. A 44 has even more.
More info here theolddeerhunters.com/?s=Marlin+357
@@Theolddeerhunters Thank you. The .44 magnum ballistics are very interesting on paper because of how quickly the bullet drops and looses energy after 100yds. Shooting from a small stand on a few acres is safer than other rounds.
7.62x39 does pretty good and cheap
I like my 30/30 I’ve killed several pigs with it and it works well. I also killed a coyote with a 243 at 387 yards with one shot and it worked fantastically! I think it’s a great round!!
I love the 6.5 grendel its absolutely my favorite caliber. My only issue is I also really like the Federal 90 grain tnt I just can't find any.
I shot hogs for food I love using my 22 mag bolt action
Hands down .30 Carbine!
So far I’ve only used .45-70 and a .44 magnum revolver, both with cast bullets. Results have been good.
45-70 has been around so long, some modern rifles and loads have gone up a weight class. Buffalo Bore for example, lists rifles it's safe to shoot their cartridges in.
@@fjalics My hunting load is a 430 grain cast flat nose at just over 1500 fps. It’s about the most recoil I can stand for meaningful practice.
Terminal accent and trophy bonded from federal work great in my 308
A big boar will think he got hit by lightning when those hit home.
I'm all about leveractions. .30-30. .357magnum. 44 magnum. 45 Colt.
Placing the shot mid-neck doesn't require 6,000 ft-lb energy to bring down a hog. Not by any means. Seen people dumping them by this method with a .22wmr. Lung and heart shots will have them squealing and running off somewhere.
The Grendel is a great cartridge, though here in Australia the 30-30 and 45-70 are two of the most popular pig rounds, as they are generally hunted at shorter ranges.
A 7.7 x 58 mm and a 6.5 x 55 mm for pigs
22 nosler
How about a 22-250m
I am surprised you aussies aren't using a 600 nitro I know yall love the big ones. Just kidding I have been to Sydney Resches the best beer in the world.
It’s quite good, but the lever action rifles are great for quicker follower up shots@@gradyhernandez4699
I know for a fact a 450 bushmaster works great took a hog in Ohio really done a great job
I prefer the 7mm-08
I've heard 300 AC and 7.62 x 39 mm work well in AR upper kits.
300 BLACKOUT was designed for AR. 7:62x39 is same case as 6.5 Grendel, just 308 bullet. Good close in but not great ballistics.
Yup….my son just took a hog with a 6.5 Grendel using a Nosler BT.
Sometimes a 162 gr SST or 160 gr speer BTSP in the 7mm ultra mag.
I use 8x57 j s , no pig has run away from me so far .
Like my mauser also 7x57 or 8x57
In my opinion I like 30 cal.
30-30 is my favorite. Is what I have .
Now of the ones you talked about I like the 308 and the 243.
The 22 as you said is a 1 shoot one kill round. Like you said once they are moving its hard with a 22 on a body shot.
And for that reason "I" would not use it. But that's just me I am not saying you or nobody else should not shoot it. You use what works best for you.
Of what I have the 30-30 is what works best for me
Thanks for your comment, Ed.
The 308 is a all around. My. Faboy
.350 Legend , .300 Blackout,5.56mm ,9mm pistol cartridge in a carbine,.22 Magnum.
I use 454 casull in my Rossi lever and the same in raging judge and to keep costs down I cast my own and homemade gas checks
I bet the 454 really pounds them!!
Every hog I've shot has dropped right where it was standing! My cartridge of choice is the 300 Blackout with a 110 gr. plastic tipped bullet by Hornady and I've never had a passthrough! It dumps all it's energy in the hog! Every hog I've shot has been between 80 and 110 yards. All you have to do is hit in the front half of the body! I'm to old to go blood trailing a hog. If you have a passthrough shot all the energy from where it exits the animal to where the bullet stops is totally wasted! And a kid can shoot it!
Probaly why the 7.62x39 round also works well on them, good energy dump.
My old barn cat drags em up on the back porch
I use the 22 BS, It’s a 50 cal BMG case necked down to 22 cal.
My favorite for big hogs is is the Red Ryder BB gun with a compass and a scope. Sometimes you need that 2nd shot though
I've never taken a hog with my Red Ryder, but have taken a few big Boar Sparrows with it!
😂lmao
Youll put your eye out kid
Nothing less than 30 06
Like, Go Big or Go Home!!
My AR-15 favorites are a 450 bush. and a 6.8 spc
Yay, someone else who owns a 450 bushmaster! I live in Australia (semi autos might make people self identify as scared, therefore we can't have them) so mine is in a Ruger American, but I was beginning to think from the comments in all the videos I watch that no one else on the planet shoots one. Impulse buying a rifle chambered in something that no one else thinks is worth while has me a bit concerned about the longevity of ammo supply.
I have yet to get anything with mine other than finishing off a wounded fox. What is it like on pigs? Does it pass through or disintegrate inside?
I have killed hundreds of hogs with my 6.5 grendel. It truly is an amazing little cartridge. It shoots like a 223, and kills like a 308. I've used several different bullets. If you reload, try some 120 grain speer gold dots. They are great bullets.
Speer bullets are great. I shoot the 90 HP TNT for coyotes.
I don't have one yet but I really like that caliber
If you don't mind taking out a loan to shoot hogs, then that would be okay. I like .308/7.62 NATO cause you can get it much cheaper.
@markr.1984 when I started using the grendel I was getting wolf fmj bullets for 6 bucks per box. I'd pull the fmj bullet, and replace it with a hunting bullet. This was pretty cheap hunting ammo, and it works great. Now those wolf bullets are 15 bucks per box. When I'm out, I'll probably start using my
308, and 223 again.
@@markr.1984😂😂😂👍
I like the 7.62× 39
Yes. It is a great choice for hogs.
my 30-30 has been a grate hog gun. Hits hard, fast follow up shots for taking out more then one and just so easy too carry when stalking and rides real well under saddle. If I'm having to eradicate a whole population of problem hogs thoe my AR10 suppressed does make quick work of it.
Sounds like you have all the bases covered👍
@@Theolddeerhunters thanks. I like to think I have but it really comes done to what you shoot well. The rife doesn't really matter if you can't hit anything. I got friends in TX that prefer the AR15's. A lot cheaper ammo and a hell of a lot easy to shoot when your hanging out of a helicopter. I'm defiantly not trying that with AR10. I've also hunted hogs in Florida with two catch dogs and a bore spare I got from Cold Steal. Now that really will get your adrenaline going. My dogs were AB's my friends were dogo argentino's those dogs are amazing. If you've never seen them in action you should check out some video's.
25-06 for hogs , deer , varmints , antelope , or whatever short of really large game
Evryone I know that has hunted with a 25-06 loves it!👍
@@Theolddeerhunters it’s called a deer slayer for a really good reason flat shooter with very light recoil .
Always used the 22-250 for varmints but recently a friend of mine hooked me up with some 75 gr sierra hp for the 25 and can’t wait to try them out

Yes he downloaded them just a bit to 46gr of IMR for what he says is best results idk yet
I started with 6.8 SPC build. Wanted 6.5 Grendel. However, I ended up with 350 legend. 6.8 and 6.5 availability has been limited last few years. I'm serious considering going to 223 with 77gr bthp.😅
use 338 . its the best one bro )))
I had actually thought about building a "modular" rifle in 6.5 Grendel and quickly changed my mind when I started looking for ammo. IF you can find it, it is very cost prohibitive. In some cases running in the $2 per round category. Not cost effective when you're talking about someone that is going to want to go to the range with several boxes of ammo and come home empty. That changed my mind to the .300 blackout.
I hurried to place a bid on what I intended to be 6.5 creedmoor but bought Grendel instead. In the last 2 months, I've built a rifle and purchased a total of 500 rounds now. I'm averaging about a buck a round off GunBroker. All are premium hunting bullets , Wolf can still be had for a little less, but I imagine it's drying up.
I have both. I keep the 300aac for it's more maneuverable shorter barrel. It's great for close range shots, especially at subsonic velocities.
The 6.5 Grendel is more of a mid-long range hunting cartridge (particularly so for an intermediate cartridge) that works very well at closer ranges as well. I find the Grendel to be a great all-around cartridge. I have mine in a very lightweight heavy fluted 20" Ballistic Advantage barrel that is pretty accurate at .5"- .850" groups. Yes, ammo is prohibitively expensive, but it really isn't much more than 300aac where I am (1.50/Rd vs 1.30/Rd). Also if you reload, you can just get 1x fired 7.62x39 brass from most gun ranges for about 50c/case and resize it for the Grendel. Most 7.62 cases have a bit less case capacity, but I find that it doesn't make a lot of difference in velocities. Possibly due to the large rifle primers, or possibly to case pressure. Either way 7.62x39 is a pretty common/inexpensive case to find for reloading purposes. (MUST BE BRASS which is why I suggested gun ranges since they usually don't allow steel on their ranges.)
I hope this info is helpful.
I wish there was an affordable ar10 in 270 win. I’ve dropped more hogs dead in their tracks with 270 and 308 than anything.
How about a Browning 270 BAR?
@@Theolddeerhunters I have a BAR mk II in 30-06 and a Mk III in 300 WSM. I wouldn’t mind one in 270, but the AR10 platform would be better for me to attach my light, suppressor, etc.
@@TheolddeerhuntersI have a 270 BAR and have had my thermal on it, works like a charm but you can really feel the weight while walking with it!
Thoughts on .270win?
It's all I use, does a good job
Don't know why people knock the 270 it's a great round
The perfect rifle to shoot a hog with is the one you have in your hand at the time. My thermal lives on an AR 15 in 350 legend. Cheap and readily available ammo, 180 gr projectile, and 200 yard usable range.
7.62x39 for deer and hogs.
7.62X39, perfect for persons who shoot a lot, and hunts hogs! Less than or about 50 cents per round, available in AR 15 platform, light recoil round.
Yes it is great. Grendel's big brother, but I still want good ammo and expanding bullets.
Ar in x39. If you were smart and found the right soft point or “hollow tip” not hollow point. And got a bunch of cheap ones when you still could. The American brass stuff is good too but not super cheap like what you could get 10 years ago.
On your point of the 308s capabilities. I took my 1400+ lb Buffalo with a bonded 150gr 308. Both shots taken were pass through shots. So hogs, deer, black bear, elk and moose should be no problem with the right bullet 👍
You are so correct. Great round.
Agreed on the 308 150gr, but to add to that.... the Barnes VOR-TX TTSX polymer tipped BT 130gr hits around 3,125 fps at around 2,818 ft-lbs and will take down ANY animal in North America relative to a properly placed shot.
@@TERMINAL-BALLISTICS Also the all copper expanding rounds, tend to get uncanny good penetration. I suspect it's do to the 4 petal design. Causing less drag, compared to a conventional mushroom design.
In the future, some tables would be helpful.
Good idea. Thanks
What do you think about the 6mm Arc?
I think it would be great for hogs. I have not got to shoot one yet, but it is basically a 6mm Grendel. It should also be great for coyotes with light bullets.
So, normally hogs are not really shot at longer distances (not for me anyways). I've found that 30-30 is about as good of a round to kill hogs as any out there.
3030 is great for hogs.
7mm08 is for me
I like like it too wish it would fit AR15 frame.
I'm surprised that the 7mm-08 and the 6.5 Creedmoor didn't make the list.
7mm-08 is one of my favorite cartridges. I like the Grendel much better than the CM. Neither the two you mentioned fit small frame rifles. I just don't see a need for 25-27 caliber that won't fit in a 2.26" mag. I have used many of the 6.5 cals in that CM, 260, 6.5x55 case size and was never impressed with results. 7mm-08 or 308 so much better. What are your top 5?

It's personal preference. You could make a case for 30-30 gov't in a Henry. Not out of practicality, it's more about what suits your style. I just love a good lever action rifle.
.358 Winchester, a fabulous pig killer
Everybody needs a 25-45 Sharps
my money is on the TTSX 100 gr in 6.5 grendel.
a modern 30.06 (fed trophy copper) stops them in 1 shot
I prefer 7.62x39
Good choice.
What do they do with feel hog carcasses?
Some farmers have pits. Most have a bone yard for coyotes and buzzards feed.
6.5g ,45-70, 44mag, 6mm rem, 358
Not really a big fan of the 223. Yes with the right bullets it can work grate.
I know a guy that runs a gun shop. If he asked what he would use for a 223 hog round. He points them to barns with one of the x bullets.
He said all but one said they to expensive. And normal buy the cheapest 55 jsp on the shelf. Not a good combination
Why didn’t you mention the 7.62x39 ? 7.62x39 can be used in a number of different rifles : some of them automatic with easy to load magazines and are light weight.
It is a great hog round, but I like the Grendel better and it is almost the same round. Thanks for your comment.
Use a slingshot with medium size rocks. It is all about the placement of the rocks 🪨
This not about caliber or size of bullet to give a clean kill for a hog. But point of shoot placement. 223/5,56 can be deadly if shoot on head than bigger caliber shoot on body . . .
Glad that you agree with me.
I think you are confusing a 22 nosler with a 224 valkyrie. The nosler doesnt have a parent case. The 22 valkyrie's parent case is the 6.8 spc.
No confusion. We only shoot 22 Nosler. 224V is probably better for hogs but we coyote hunt more than hog hunt.
At 5:21, you said what they did is take a 6.8 case and made a 22 nosler. Wrong. That is the 224 valkyrie.
Also a 224 valk shoots a 75 gr at 3000 fps. And shoots a 60 gr at 3300 which is greater than the nosler. I choice the 224 valk for that reason and the 6.8 spc bolt ( which I shoot also).
The best one - 30-30. Widely available, cheap, easy to shoot, low recoil and flat enough trajectory, good bullet construction. There are some really cheap single shot rifles chambered for the 30-30 so you don't have to spend a fortune on a fancy rifle.
Yeah sho you can spend a fortune on ammo instead
7.62x39 is more common, cheaper rifles, cheaper ammo and similar ballistics to some 30-30 if both were in 16 inch barrel
Where are you finding 30-30 cheap?
Turns out the same platform we chat on (the internet), also has a thing called a market where ammo is sold. Ammo seek website. As of right now, 88 cents per pop, 150gr Fiocchi.
My main cartridge is 300 Blackout 110 or 120 grain Barnes but I also use 223 and 350 Legend all Barnes or Stienel ammunition with copper bullets.
I bet that Legend really smacks hard!

All copper bullets may not be legal in your state to hunt with
I don't know of any states that prevent you from hunting with expanding copper bullets like the Barnes. Some location do not allow lead and copper bullets have become the replacement for lead bullets.
Ok .. I have a question. You like the 6.5 Grendel but dont like the 6.5 Creedmoor? ( I assume this by your other videos)... Doesnt make sense to this old ass southerner.
Well from one old ass Southerner to another, I have tried all the 6.5's like the 260 and 6.5x55. My email address has 260 in it. If a creedmoor would fit in an AR I would like it but it is too long. If it would push a 140 gn past 2900 fps, I would lime it more for deer. It is a great target cartridge, but there too many other rounds like the 270, 3006 or 7mm's that do a much better job for deer in my experience. It is a good hog cartridge. Recovery of hogs is not top priority.
I understand. I just noted the 308 and 243. It is funny but I have every ar-15 barrel but the 22 nosler. The grendel is a good round.
I have a custom built 700 with a 12.5" 6.5 creedmoor. It is on a chassis and light. Best truck gun I ever built. Shooting the 129 nosler long range, its muzzle fps is 2550. The grendel out of a 24" barrel is only 2350. At 300 yds, it outforms the 243 100gr with a 24". Energy -6.5 = 1266, 243 = 1168.
I dont understand one thing how can someone spend more money than me and my wife make in a month and say they do it to save money
Sorry you’re so recoil sensitive.
Shit happens.
Almost anything will do except for extremely big hogs.
There are many more cartridges that a fine for killing hogs. I might use a .223 but just like the old deer hunter I will use what I have. If you really want to put some hogs down don't go smaller than a 416 Rigby.
1000 ft lbs at whatever distance you want to kill a feral pig with a solid hunting bullet If you want a 300 yard shot pick a caliber that has at least 1000 ft lbs at 300 yards.
SORRY BUT I HAVE TO ASK, I AM A POOR ARGENTINE, BUT I ABOUT THINK I WILL BECOME RICH. SUPPOSE IT HAPPENS TO ME. THE ONLY 3 CALIBERS THAT I HAVE HAD SUCCESSFUL WERE THE 223, THE 243 AND THE 270. IF I GOT RICH, I WONDER IF I WOULD GO TO AN EVEN 6-06, A 6/284, A 270 WSM AND I WONDER IF I WOULD NOT BE A VICTIM OF THE MARKETING USA, I ASK YOU WHO SHOOT SO MANY AND VARIOUS CARTRIDGES, WOULD IT BE WORTH IT??? OR WOULD I BE A VICTIM OF MARKETING???
I would stay with the 223, 243, 270 Win. The other just marketing.
You already have 3 excellent calibers. The 6/284 and 6/06 burn their barrels out real fast because of their large overbore. The .270 WSM IS NOT A BIG IMPROVEMENT OVER THE .270.
Oh my God you didn't mention the 6-5 creedmoor all the guys that wear skinny jeans and have a man bun will be so disappointed
Since I am not a "long range" target shooter, I really have absolutely no use for the CM. For me, Varmint calibers stop at 6mm and Deer calibers start at 7mm.
Do you ever seen a real Russian boar in your life
22 are you joking me?
Never been to Russia but I have killed 200 lb Boars with 223 head shots. Still prefer larger caliber.
The .500 SW does the trick for those pesky hogzillas. 👌
Going hog hunting this weekend..had my AR10 all sighted in..but its been acting up..I think its the gas block..anyways, gotta take my AR15 instead. Just picked up some Sig Sauer Elite Series 60 gr .223...I sure hope it works!
Head shot if possible. Good luck👍
The 224 Valkyrie isn't the same rim as a 223 it is the same rim as the 6.8 spc and takes the same AR 15 bolt for the 6.8 spc.
As a reloader and I did an AR 15 in the 224 Valkyrie it has all the same powered charges as a 223 and it can't take anymore powder than the 223 so it was turd, so I replaced the 224 barrel with a 20 inch 223 barrel.
I have never shot or reloaded the 224 Valkyrie, but I thought it had about 3gn more volume and would give you higher velocities than the 223. Thanks for your comment.
@@Theolddeerhunters You should have firsthand experiences yourself before making video's telling so many stupid people to go do something you have never done of experienced yourself.
