      Brandon Garretson I don't. They were showing ID and he recognised the fact that they were officers and as such there is no need for a uniform.This is just some fuck wit thats obviously done something wrong (hence the reluctance to talk to the officers) and making a scene and being obstructave and thought he could bully his way out of the situation. I am surprised that he didn't play the race card.

      cplcabs He didn't do anything wrong which is why the ran a background and let him go. Apparently you didn't watch the entire video. Nor does showing an idea or badge make you a police officer plenty of fakes are manufactured. He was well with in his rights but according to you that's making a scene. Why don't you actually go study the law before acting as if intelligent. The man has a right especially when being randomly grabbed and pulled to the side. Nor does not wanting to talk to police mean you've done something wrong that's an argument out of ignorance and a wild assertion.

      Zeus Incoming2 anybody can buy a fake badge and pretend to be a cop so it’s sensible to request a uniformed police officer. Most detectives also aren’t responsible for patrol duties and don’t execute arrests that often. The whole reason detectives don’t have uniforms is so they can focus on investigative duties instead of being misidentified as a patrol officer. And parole officers hardly arrest anyone ever or conduct any sort of investigation. Hell a lot of them don’t even have the power to make arrests

    • @Xombie007
      @Xombie007 8 лет назад +7

      +screamingdoor Yes, but he didn't have to be loud and belligerent either. In fact it's most likely that the undercover officers wanted to take him aside because they wanted to avoid causing a scene. He could've just requested for a uniformed officer but been a lot quieter and polite about it. The way he acted probably just made the officers all the more suspicious of him.

    • @screamingdoor
      @screamingdoor 8 лет назад +130

      Xombie007 He was requesting for a uniformed officer and obviously wasn't getting what he was asking for. If he was genuinely worried about these guys (rightfully so) he;s not going to follow them outside. The next best thing is to make a scene so people are watching you and at least they are aware of what is going on. In the end he had to call the police himself.
      The good thing about him being loud about it was it causes the person who posted this to record it. That's smart if you ask me.

    • @Xombie007
      @Xombie007 8 лет назад +2

      ***** Yes he was fortunate that there was an individual there (most likely another Black fellow) who was recording the incident. I've observed that this is something that Black people often do for one another whenever they see one of their kind being confronted by the police, ever since the Rodney King beating back in the 90's in L.A. But if you look at the footage, nearly everyone else was more afraid of him being loud and belligerent as if he's another underwear bomber or something. No one was trying to side with him or offer him any assistance because of his behavior. If he had just calmly told the undercover officers, that he is afraid for his own safety in going with them somewhere private because he can't tell if their badges are real or not, and possibly maybe alert one or two passengers around him (again in a calm manner), then someone may've stepped up and even made that call to the LAPD that he was asking for. Heck, even the undercover officers may've acknowledged his position and conducted their "search and questioning" right there on the spot instead of trying to take him somewhere private. All I'm saying is that being loud, uncooperative, and belligerent, only serves to work against him, no matter how you look at it. It's definitely NOT the smart thing to do!

    • @screamingdoor
      @screamingdoor 8 лет назад +38

      Xombie007 The fact of the matter is that we are missing the whole situation. What we do know is from what was caught on camera. By the looks of things, he honestly probably did tell the undercover officers that he didn't feel safe. The undercover officers weren't compliant with his request for a uniformed officer on the scene and that's enough to raise suspicion in anyone. They even went as far as getting TSA agents (which we all know are thugs in a uniform) instead of actually calling the police which the man requested.
      I don't really know where you are from geologically, but in LA, people try and keep to themselves. At least he made enough of a scene to get somebody to record the situation for him. And yes, the camera man was another person of color. It shows it at the end of the video.

    • @Xombie007
      @Xombie007 8 лет назад +1

      ***** I'm from L.A. born and raised... which is why I brought up the Rodney King beating from the early 90's. And like I said, I've seen Black people recording incidents on behalf of other Black people who are confronted by cops. It's especially easy these days since a smartphone is all you need. Back in the day, they had to use camcorders and such. Anyway, regarding this particular incident, The FACT remains... the man would've been far better off not being loud, belligerent, and just behaving like a jackass, scaring everyone else around him! That's probably why no one wanted to assist him (not even the other Black guy recording), when he asked if someone can call local PD on his behalf. Also, TSA agents and airport security have a very difficult job to do in trying to ascertain the criminals and terrorists from the loudmouth idiots like this guy, and they absolutely have the right to detain and arrest people who are non-compliant with their requests. The fact that these people restrained themselves from gang-tackling, tasing, and beating the crap out of him (as he would've likely tried to fight them), is vastly to their credit. Finally, if Black people (as well as some others) didn't have this constant "fight the power" attitude while going through life, they would've, as a race, been much further along in general as other minority races that came to the U.S. well after them!

    For all we know these could have been dirty cops who found out this guy was carrying cash and trying to confiscate it, by planting something on him. He was right to call for another uniformed police officer. This officer was trying to bait him by getting all his personal space, he was hoping he would react so he could find something to charge him with. Glad everything got worked out, because this could have went bad. The fact that the cops just knew that they had a criminal is the most disturbing, because he is an innocent man being treated as if has committed a crime. Thanks for filming this as this may be something that these officers do and they don't care if your innocent or not. Kudos to the guy for standing his ground when some would say if he has nothing to hide he should just comply. He made the right choice because something was definitely fishy about that interaction, I would have filed a complaint once I made it back to Atlanta.

      Are we living in a dystopia? Why is him getting beaten up or tackled perfectly acceptable to you? That's sick. Police officers are there to uphold the law not torture and degrade citizens.

    • @Xombie007
      @Xombie007 8 лет назад +1

      Hazel ! No it's DEFINITELY not sick, and it's what happens to ALL PEOPLE (regardless of race, gender, or any other factor) when they PHYSICALLY TRY to resist arrest (or detention, while being placed in cuffs). It's the LAW! The Black man was EXTREMELY FORTUNATE that it didn't come to that, and the undercover officers had the courtesy and patience to allow him to call and wait for a uniformed LAPD officer to arrive at the scene. But make no mistake, the undercover officers (most likely DEA agents who wanted to search and question this suspect as a possible drug dealer/trafficker) are under NO SUCH OBLIGATION to COMPLY with his request for a uniformed officer, especially when he is being loud, belligerent, and wholly uncooperative!
      Also, what do you mean by "upholding the law", you DUMB SKANK? They ARE upholding the law by investigating a possible drug dealer. Do you think drug dealers and other criminals in general travel through airports DECLARING that they're carrying drugs or contraband, you FRIGGIN' IDIOT? These trained officers are taught what to look for, and they have a process for detaining and questioning possible suspects. Most people with a shred of intelligence and common sense actually understand this... and those who are innocent usually have no problems cooperating. This LOUDMOUTH JACKASS is the exception, and he would've gotten his "just desserts" by getting a good ol' fashioned beatdown!

    • @Xombie007
      @Xombie007 8 лет назад

      ***** That's not what I said, and that's not how they're trained... although I'm sure when attempting to profile drug traffickers, they certainly do NOTICE A TREND among the suspects who are caught carrying drugs or other such contraband. So do yourself a favor and try not to come off as THE SUPREME IDIOT for saying STUPID things, okay FUCKTARD?

    Honestly that's not super irrational for someone to not trust you in an airport if you tell them you're an undercover cop (somewhere you wouldn't expect to even find one) and you're putting your hands on someone and telling them to go with you somewhere. Id probably do the same and ask for a uniformed officer to feel safe.

    • @AstroAnon
      @AstroAnon 8 лет назад +2

      +oreofudgeman IDK where you are from but this is in the United States; since 9-11 happened, there should be no surprise that there are undercover agents in the airports and on the planes. Furthermore I would be surprised if most major airports in Europe did not have undercover agents.

      oreofudgeman Then you should be aware of the necessity of undercover agents at airports (especially considering US policy). It is just as easy to get a fake uniform lmao. Obviously if they are trying to take you to holding/integration room (in the back part of an airport), then it is legitimate. If not, then don't go. There are questions and observations that can hint to you if it is real or suspicions. Just takes a little simple thought man.

    Of course he is a criminal! Opps, he's not a criminal? Probably was a criminal! Opps never been a criminal?
    He actually was nice afterward? Sounds like the guy who was shot by the cop for trying to retrieve his license like the officer told him. He was nice too.
    What about 99% of those black men who are incarcerated for decades to only be found innocent and how they don't hold any public grudges towards those who jailed them but extend forgiveness?
    This is what true black culture that most blacks understand, forgiveness. Rodney King was a guy who smoked weed and was stopped by police and those that did not like him said that he was some sort of drugged crazy and the cops had a right to beat him. He came out and asked famously, "can't we all just get along"?
    God bless the camera phone and real evidence!!
    Notice the officer asked him if he was on parole or probation. Sounds insulting to me and a judgement of his character based on nothing. Just cooperate is what some would say.
    To someone who can buy a badge online? Shows that sometimes you have to become loud to get people to notice and stop the "assault" from happening. Not physical per-sea but emotional and verbal.

      The nice guy that went to retreive his wallet darted towarded his car too fast. You don't make sudden movemnt or hide your hands to the police. This guy did both...Did the guy deserve to be shot for it...probably not...but i believe the officer was indicted and charged.
      Do you remember the white naked wrestler 135lbs that was shot dead by that black officer. The black officer was not indicted We all remember the protest (wait the were none)...Wait you mean even a black officer does not have to wrestle with a clearly unarmed white 18 year old suspect. Just the aggressive action of a druged up white kid is enough to shoot him dead...But wait what if a 296lb black kid that just robbed a store, assulted an officer, tried to take the officer gun, then charges a white officer...Now lets bitch and cry? The moral here is don't fuck with the police. They are under no obligation to wrestle with suspects...or take chances with less deadly tools...Insted of chanting "Hands up don't shoot" chant "don't fuck with the police and don't die"....Insted of "i can't breathe" chant "i wont resist your arrest for i dont get hurt or die" ...Also dont get all drugged up and mess with the police even if your white....The fit 135 lbs male is a threat to the police...(no weapon needed to be shot)...
      "Rodney king was a guy that smoke weed"....Um So wrong.... he was persued in a high speed chase. He was tazed and hit with a cops nightstick by officers that were poorly trained how to use it effectively...King was guilty when he was "beating" and arrested many more times after...Rodney king at best was detain improperly...The officers were found not guilty. What would Rodney bitch about?...Hey sorry i ran from you and did not comply with the arrest. When i was totally guilty. I know white kids 135lbs get shot for acting like i did...but i expect you guys to wrestle with my 300lb body...Its your duty as officers not to hit me with your sticks but risk injury wrestling with me. Its like the WWE any person can call out any cop and force them to wrestle...
      I will be glad To argue with an educated man. The black men that "incarcerated for decades to only be found innocent and how they don't hold any public grudges towards those who jailed them but extend forgiveness?" 1st off there are people of all skin colors this happens too. The reaction is universal. Sometime these "innocent" people are just innocent of that crime...some of these people have had criminal histories...So if you know you were going to end up in jail one way or the other. You are not to pissed if you were locked up for the wrong crime.
      One of the biggest reason i come to RUclips is to watch Neil degrasse tyson Videos. I love educated people. For some reason i don't think you are going to live up to Neil degrasse tyson...

      hellasow b Well I am a Marine have been teaching Aikido for 17 years. I am all of 5' 7 1/2" and have been since I graduated high school. I weigh 12.5 stone of 175lbs. I have students who weigh in at almost 300 lbs and are 6' 3" and toss them at my leisure.
      I made no assertion about race and that this does not happen between black officers and white people, or black officers and black people or white officers and white people. You have thrown that into the mix because it appears that is what comes to mind when anyone has an opinion opposite of what you seem to think.
      The assumption that every time there is a negative occurrence that blacks somehow protest and riot is just not fact and shows a bias to use this instance as somehow to cite something "different" about black people. I and most of my black friends have had situations where we were harassed by police on numerous occasions during our lives. Many of them are lawyers, physicians, corporate workers and do not fit the "profile" of a problem person. The only thing they had in common was the color of their skin. Based on my direct knowledge and experience if this was a basic trait of blacks I would be protesting or rioting all the time just on my interactions which are horrific at times.
      When providing examples of incarcerated men I was providing an example of how black people actually are instead of how people like you try to portray them as you have when juxtaposing the 135 white wrestler and a black person who is shot and whether there were any protests afterward. Your implications is that whites do not protest what they feel is injustice and someone blacks are "different".
      It's like the kids who get in trouble pointing out what someone else did when I am discussing their violations of the rules with them and not talking about anyone else. To deflect from the subject to make a point about someone else is just that a deflection. Both situations may be injustices and should be treated as such instead of one is an "actual" injustice and another is someone getting what they deserve because of how "they" act.
      Even in you dialogue you show a bias. Without knowing anything about most of the cases you mention that they are jailed for the wrong crime, as if they are guilty of something. You will be shocked the number of people who have done nothing wrong being locked up for the weekend because they fit the description, only to be found innocent based on the alibi of a white colleague. I have 3 highly successful friends whom this has happened to. One missed his daughter's wedding because of this. Should he not be out there smashing windows, according to your idea?
      You then say this guy make a sudden movement. Every one of my officer friends and military friends, equaling 37 people were shocked at the officers reaction. They said that he showed no aggression or body language which stated he was a problem, instead he complied immediately. You seeing something different and blaming him for doing "something wrong" speaks to the problem. It is officers with that mindset out there that cause this behavior to happen. He was immediately fired when his superiors saw the video. It was not because of outcry from public it was seeing the obvious that this guy was a normal citizen who was complying and being stopped for not having a seat belt. If he had died you seem to be the type who would say he should not have made a "wrong" move. He did not hide his hands. The people in charge also compared his statement after the fact to the video and it was obvious that the guy did nothing wrong. For you to say he did something wrong shows that your idea of wrong actions is based on something other than fact, more so who is doing the action.
      To add to that you know nothing about me but will make comments about my intelligence against Mr Tyson. Well I know Neil personally and in science he has me beat but in some other things I have him. His siblings are much more intelligent than he and he would tell you so.
      I have no problem with discussing opinions with people and having different ones. The conclusions you have come to about the Brown incident and Rodney King show a bias. The issue is not about if any of these people did anything wrong it is the degree of response to the wrong doing. To think that someone deserved to die because of an action which a well trained individual could have handled differently speaks to a lack of knowledge of the possibilities. Even the officer in the Brown case chose to not wear a taser because he felt it was too bulky to wear, and even made the assumption that it would not have worked with no direct knowledge of if that is fact. Showing what he thought about someone like Brown.
      I am respectfully responding but it appears you opinion may superseded any intelligent dialogue based on internal beliefs. I hope not.

    Whether you’re 100% for law enforcement, you want to defund law enforcement, or somewhere in between - the police serve the state or municipality they work for, not the citizen. They enforce laws against the citizenry. That’s not an anti cop thing to say it’s just a statement of fact. Just because you’d like a supervisor, a uniformed officer, or you’d like to not answer questions or refuse to identify without reasonable suspicion or probable cause doesn’t mean you’re being difficult or anti cop. It means you’re choosing to protect yourself.

      Edward Christian ..I agree. Seems for some unknown reason that having authority and along with it respect is just a title given to who wants to have a "title and or a badge". All sense of treating Americans as humans are deminished. They wouldn't do this shit to say...a Russian. First they wouldn't know how to pronounce his name and second they would be too scared. The badge is only used to pick out who would be the "easiest" prey for them to make them feel like they are superior to other Americans and most of the time the public will not question the person with the badge.

    I would have the same reaction because that was a suspicious situation. If 2 plain clothes men walked up claiming to be officers and only 1 had visible badge, followed by questions pertaining to my money and a possible criminal background....any person with common sense and good judgment would do the same. What made it even more questionable was the airport security officers standing by and watching it happen. I'm pretty sure they get briefings about officers making rounds for possible criminal activity. But, the scary thing is how they didn't get a dressed officer the 1st time he asked.

      iClassic For now at least. With the seizure laws becoming a very popular tool to legally rob innocent citizens it will soon become illegal to carry any amount of cash. And if not illegal then they will use the very same excuse they have been, that they assume it was for drug traffic or purchase. There are endless videos of cops stealing money from people, some where the cops even acknowledge why they are doing it and that the people will never get it back because they make it so complicated and drawn out.
      In Tennessee they have been proven that the cops pick out people with out of state plates to pull over and pressure them for their cash money. They deny it, but it's obvious they do this because again it's already complicated to fight for your money, but then you add the fact they don't even live in the state it adds more complication and difficulty to fighting the seizure. They don't need to have committed a crime, they don't need to have been charged wit a crime, all the have to do to be robbed is carry cash and the cops can rob the people legally and then keep it for themselves to be used for bonuses or however they see fit. This is America now, this is what is considered serving and protecting.

      iClassic The worst part of all this man is the people haven't become outraged yet. Only the people who have been robbed and looted and a few of us who are aware of this pathetic shit. Make me wonder just how damn much it's gonna actually take before something gives. Who has to be robbed, who has to be killed, who has to beaten and then locked up for "assaulting an officer" by smashing their face into the cops night stick? I just can't understand nor accept that crooks called the police have the legal ability to steal from American citizens without any crimes being committed and no charges ever being filed.

Bravo to the cameraman also for his continued filming and non interference. All citizens have a duty to get involved when they see things like this because next time it could be you. NEVER COMPLY WITH UNLAWFUL ORDERS or POLICE HARRASSMENT THAT YOU KNOW IS INITIATED BY RACIAL PROFILING.

      That is exactly it. Racial Profiling. The "police officer" asked him, "Are you on parole? You violating your probation?" Wow. Really? Oh yea, and shout out to ATL!!! : )
      But seriously...I am perturbed by why TSA is still around and why the American people haven't boycotted flying altogether to get rid of them. If we all went on a week long boycott from flying, the airlines would loose millions if not billions of dollars and will be moved to get rid of TSA. Instead, people just file in like sleeping zombies accepting their fate, complaining about TSA, but doing absolutely nothing about it. TSA is beginning to expand from airport checkpoints to highway checkpoints now. Soon we will see them while driving in our minivans to Disney World.
