Albert Kahn, born Abraham Kahn in Marmoutier, Alsace, on March 3, 1860, and died in Boulogne-Billancourt on November 14, 1940, was a French banker and philanthropist. He amassed a major iconographic collection entitled Archives de la Planète, the world's largest collection of autochromes (color photographs on glass plates) and black-and-white films, housed at the Musée Départemental Albert-Kahn.

I understand that you want to protect your work from unauthorized copying, but place your watermark in a corner or at the top of the video and not in the middle of the image as you did, because by placing it in the middle of the image you are ruining the his work and his followers also lost interest in watching videos with a watermark running in the middle of the scenes.
It's difficult to watch your video with a watermark in the middle, taking away our attention.
You have the option on RUclips to have your logo on all your videos always in the corner. This would be the best way to protect your videos and not harm your content with a watermark in the middle of the video.
I can understand how you feel but that water mark is rather distracting from the video. Maybe a less conspicuous style of watermark might be better?
I don't feel the watermark spoils the video for me and I understand why you have to do it. If, as has been suggested, you place it, for example, at the top, it would be possible for that to be clipped out, defeating the reason for it in the first place.
👏👏👏 Thank you for the work you do to restore these videos, and then sharing them with us. I am sorry eejits steal your work without a care - you don't deserve this. ❤❤❤❤
thank you very much ;)
Thank you for your work on these snippets of film. A London long gone; one that none of us watching experienced.
Makes since, Lisbon from 1920 is not the same as Madrid tosay. Moscow has changed over a century as well. Even more shocking: Rome from 2024 in a completely different city compared to Rome from year 1488 BCE
I love to read the advertising hoardings on the buildings and the buses, especially if its for films or theatre shows at the time.
WOW! Regulating the traffic, not an easy task. Maybe the population suffered less stress . Is good watching these footages so we can compare. Watching people feeding pigeons on crowded streets is beautiful,we don’t see that frequently. Maybe is the nostalgia of old person like me. Thanks again for your fantastic job!👏👏💐💐
oh Thx!!
Great video nass, incredible footage, beautiful work as usual, well done 😀👌👍
Thx!!!
Wow! Thank you! Excellent, I love it.
Thx ^^
I can almost smell it! Great video bro👍
thx bro
Smell of excrement and soot😅😅😅
Very good restoration, but can you make the logo a little smaller next time, thx
I've just discovered your stunning videos. Thanks so much sharing them.
London in the 1920s is wonderful!
yes!!
NASS! Thank you for posting.
Thx bro!
Thank you for all your work. They are fascinating and enjoyable to watch!
Thx!
This is how London looked when my great grandmother was a little girl. What a privilege to be able to see this ❤
The addition of the sound was a great touch! Thank you for making this!
Another great video! Thank you so much for posting and allowing us all to enjoy the time in history. Love your work.❤ Bravo……

excellent work nass, i always enjoy ur videos i have a question whats harder finding the old films or the restoration? i imagine they both are difficult considering the age of the film.
both ;)
Thank you for making these video's
Thx ;))
Nass, Another fabulous upload. George V and Mary Queen of Teck-Queen Elizabeths grandparents ruled England at this time!
Thx bro!
Great video!
Thx ;)
The Cenotaph at 7:15 was newly built then to honor the dead of WWI. It was dedicated in 1920.
Thank you Nass! Excellent video! I always feel that the buildings look so magnificent and never seem to fit with the rest of the scene almost like they came from a completely different time period! Blessed that you restore them and share with us

I agree
Some great views of London here. When did Police stop directing the traffic routinely, because I’m sure I remember seeing that still in the seventies occasionally at major junctions in London. Seen one of those London buses with the open rear stair at the motor museum as well.
when they invented traffic lights...
@@petersmit7650 No, they definitely still had them controlling traffic in certain places way after traffic lights were introduced.
I don’t think they simply stopped carrying out those sort of duties. I think it’s just that the need to do so gradually grew less with more sophisticated traffic management systems. I certainly saw Police directing traffic in the late 1960s in London and occasionally in Southampton in the early 1970s.
depending on the situation
I always get depressed looking at video's like this, knowing that all the people I see are already dead...😢
Look how clean it looks.
I love all of your videos. Id love to see you restore the Zapruder film.
Thx!!
So funny, the delivery truck for Lipton tea drove by Will. I was drinking a cup of Lipton tea. See some things don’t change.

Great work. Just one thing, you have the option on RUclips to have your logo on all your videos in the corner all the time. That would be a better way to copyright your videos and to not detract from their content instead of your name scrolling across. It's my personal opinion.
ok thx!!
Lovely video thanks

Ad for Claire Dux at bottom left of screen at .22 - FYI-- Claire Dux (2 August 1885 - 8 October 1967) was an operatic and concert soprano with a successful career in continental Europe, England, and the United States.
Fantastic spot! Many thanks!
For those who are curious about her singing:

Just look at that copper. A rock solid Englishman, tall and proud, standing with authority and respect. In an English city too. Fast forward 100 years...............
It must have been very difficult to colourize. A rather dull winter day, and no way of seeing the red buses hue, which come out as black in the original film I suppose, rather than a nice mid grey.
Nice restoration. Interesting you say 1924, I would not have thought later than 1922. Traffic lights sure let a lot of police officers go about helping the public in other ways. And who wants to stand in London rain all day.
Thx!
As another RUclips commenter has mentioned there is an advert for Claire Dux at 0:22. She was a famous operatic soprano of her day. Apparently, she made her London debut in His Majesty’s Theatre in 1911 and her Covent Garden debut was in 1913. Her wiki biography states that she mostly gave concert recitals from 1918-1921, which would fit the type of advertising board seen in this footage, so I’m guessing that this might be as early as 1921, which would fit with your assessment.
Great research!@@MrAristaeus
This is superb! Brilliant work! Well done Nass! Is there any footage of Glasgow back in the early 1900's that you could convert? I would love to see the old buildings and the hustle and bustle of the horse and a carts and trams. Would also be lovely to see the old buildings as Glasgow is ever demolishing our beautiful buildings.
This is absolutely fascinating!
I'd love to see some footage from South Yorkshire, England. This stuff is really fascinating keepbup the good work!
I love this. My Mum was born & raised in London. I wonder how many of these sites she visited. I have been to horses guards recently, after a 50 year gap. So busy all the streets even then.
Hauntingly captivating… The world turns and life repeats…Thank you.!❤
I remember those days. It was a good time to live in London.
People had the time to feed the pigeons. Yes we really have progressed as a society...
A lot of people still have the time to feed birds today.. The difference is they don't care, or appreciate the world around them anymore. They are too busy buried in their phones. Checking their latest celebrity gossip, and adult high school drama on their timeline. More worried about getting likes on selfie filters than capturing simple but bueatiful moments around them.
Ah yes, the famous purple London buses.
Bellissimo e nello stesso tempo surreale 👍
Your videos are great, but...seeing your logo constantly flashing across the screen was extremely annoying, to say the least. I sincerely hope that this was just an experiment and won't be in all your videos ruining them. 😢 JoAnn
I have to do it because nobody steals my work and posts it on other social networks without any shame.

There’s always one squinny . 😭
Thank you. Life 100 years ago doesn't seem so very different really.
Stealing your hard work is pretty bad, but the scrolling watermark in the center of the screen is a distraction. I would suggest placing a small rotating and semi translucent logo in the corner, and then move from one corner to another about every 30 seconds of play time.
Thx!! Great idea
Dokumentasi saat itu sudah bagus ya? Terlihat jelas sekali videonya
Look at all the native British people. It must have been incredible.
Great work, and I love your channel, and I have subscribed, but I am begging you to not use that scrolling watermark. It is KILING the video and extremely distracting.
Thank you
Really enjoyable video, not one person not dressed neatly,,,,self respect..they put us today to shame,
Thx!!!
thanks
Good that you put the "trademark" ;)
Love your work. Pity there weren't any trams in frame .... big time tram fan here. Pretty please, with honey!! 🙂
Thx!!
Just makes you think doesn’t it, we were all dead while these people were alive and going about their lives and now they are dead and we are alive observing them! Obvious I guess but still thought provoking.
Makes you wonder how they lived their lives out.
They were once like we are now,and soon we will be like they are now
We were all dead in 1924 ? That's certainly thought provoking,
@@thenflywjaz6917 Indeed! For how can you become dead where you were never alive? Better, we just did not exist say eg in 1924…[Well, there might be two or three Souls bless ‘em around who saw first the light of day in or prior to 1924 but maybe it depends on which month😊
LIPTON TEA?!
Most of the buildings and statues are still the same today, just an incredibly lower volume of traffic, and the old vehicles are fascinating, as are the people who of course are all passed on now.
GREAT VIDEO SUPER NASS BIG SUPORT FROM CROATIA
Thx broo!!
One thing that has never changed about London is its red buses
WOW...104 years ago😮
Just to think every person shown in this video young or old have all now passed away, a sobering thought, makes you realise how fleeting our lives are.
That London no longer exists.

I wonder when they eventually decided that open top double decker buses weren't quite suitable for the London weather?
Closed buses were introduced during the twenties and the open buses were gradually retired. The final open buses retired in the early 30's around 1932.
What has happened to London?
It got modernised witch definitely took away the aesthetic of London
Coisa boa 🕊🌱🙏😎
1924: 100 years on the dot! i don't know if, apart from the clothes and cars, london has changed much since then. I think it's still as busy as ever?
Where is Jack, the ripper?
Great video!
Quick question to anyone in the know: Did the Metropolitan Police in those days only recruit officers who were at least 5' 10'' in height? Every pre-1950 video I have seen of London shows traffic officers towering well above the majority of pedestrians who walk by them. I realize the average height of a Briton at the turn of the last century was a good inch or two below the median today, but the height of most MET officers shown in this and other older films appears higher than even today's average for white, male Londoners.
Thx!
The London i would loved to have experienced😢
There are no traffic lights !
Everyone is serious, composed, mindful....It was a time when people knew still who they were, what they were doing, what was most important in life, and lived accordingly to that!! Some of them though, hated this with a passion and planned and programmed all this slaughterhouse that the world is today......Let's hope God has Mercy on us and saves us in the end!!! ✝️
The sound is typically American. The hoots of the cars is nothing like what we'd hear in the UK. Apart from that, brill!
