Absolutely my favourite band. Such a unique sound you can't get anywhere else, I'm nothing but blown away by the quality of this album. Amazing work as always!
Alice Anarchy I just found this band today but I agree completely.
i’m just discovering more than just their single
Agreed. They’re my favorite now!
The irony is their name has dirt poor in it when this has the richest sound on earth.
@@scottalleman4564 no offense but that comment is 4 years old brother haha
You know, upon seeing the title of this song I was very skeptical they’d get it right. But dangit, they did. The only thing this Lady Hell is missing is “and none of your clothes have pockets”.
haha. No pocket leggings
Fr
Everyone's looking for a proper meaning in this song but it hits particularly close in my case. I have a great group of friends, I love them so much. They're all guys and we all get along great. However when we hang out together, it's almost impossible for me to get a word in. Either I'm interupted or just ignored, they don't mean it intentionally but they catch themselves doing it after. Whereas when I hang out with another group of friends who are mainly girls, they will always listen or at least one of them will!
It doesn't feel like 'hell' but it sure is lonely when you're surrounded by people who won't hear you
Yes!
Thats odd, I'm in a group full of both and it really seems like everyone chooses to ignore me...
I’m in a girl with all girls and they still ignore me😅
That isn't because your a girl its because guys just interrupt everyone (Usually there are always exceptions) We are just excited to speak XD
I'm absolutely shocked this isn't a huge band with millions of subscribers. I only just discovered this band and I figured they were this band that's been on the radio that I've only just heard about. Someday this band is really going to blow up and I'm all for it :')
💖💖💖
I love how they heart things, that's not seen often with artists and it's nice. These songs have a great vibe.
💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
😁💖
This is awesome! As a woman myself I can say that being ignored it the worst feeling and just a little bit more will men do it to women then women to women. Its just a bit of old habit bathed in I guess, but it is pretty horrible. I can only imagine when women used to be supposed to be “seen but not heard” when they wanted to have a job and hoped that one day they would but no one listened to their pleas. This song really captures how horrible that must have been.
THERE WAS A SILVER CIRCLE SIGN AND SHE WAS STANDING AT THE DOOR
that opening drum beat reminds me a lot of The Dear Hunter's "He Said He Had a Story" haha
for real though this album is phenomenal, so happy I randomly came across you guys the other day!
James Chatham never heard it. I will be sure to check it out. I was paying homage to Queen in this intro though.
Both bands are extremely similar to each other. You could say that they both are my favorite bands
@@dirtpoorrobins I doscovered you guys through TDH, hope you oiked their stuff
...so there's a hell out there with a crowd of people but none of theme will pay attention to you and there all chics?
so basically it's me at a party but everyone is a girl?
Hahahaha
this probably wasn't the intended message but as a trans man, particularly one who is still mostly perceived as a woman, this gives me Certain Feelings. not to detract from what it means to actual women/fem people, i just wanted to share. it's a fantastic song.
Being mtf I think I understand what your feeling
Oh boy. Yeah. I came to say something similar. I would like to hear a follow-up about how you can't fully escape lady hell.
@@superbrofan I feel like this song should be the unifying anthem of trans mascs and fems.
We all gotta do the time in lady hell one way or another

I can understand your feeling I'm also ftm
Thank you Spotify shuffle for bringing me here.
Mine too, lol
Ayye! Same!
I adore this song, it hits a certain nerve in my brain and just screams “good”.
AHHH HEARD THIS AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE! HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR IT EVER SINCE!!!! CANT BELIEVE I FOUND THIS!
Glad you found it :)
So, Spotify made me listen to this.
Can I be honest? I'm in love, for real, this band is amazing, and, I've had this song on repeat when I first listened to it.
I really enjoy this band, please don't stop making amazing songs like this,
Thank you! Have you caught up to our new single “Enchanté”? I have a feeling that these songs would go well together for you
@@dirtpoorrobins Oh, I haven't, I'll go check it out now! Thank you.
Completely and utterly in love with this album and every single song. Breathtaking job :)
This got recommended to me on my Spotify weekly discovery playlist, and I don't know how I hadn't come across to this banger before.
i need to listen to more of this band because i love this
I love you 🖤
I love how this touches on the practical meaning found in something as Primordial as Hell. It's a brilliant song!
You guys have been the soundtrack for my life for years. Love you. Let me know if you're ever gunna come to the Toronto area of Canada! I desperately want to meet you.
Damn, this really does fit '44, thank you Mogry133 for making such a great series and Dirt Poor Robins for making the best voice for her.
Isaiah Wasan I have no idea what this is referencing but thanks for the compliment none the less.
Dirt Poor Robins mogry133 used this music for a video and he gave a shoutout to you
FINALLY I found the song!! ^~^ For the past several days I had it stuck in my head but could only remember the rhyme "As it seems... All of your dreams..." It was SO hard to find but I'm so happy I did! It's such a great song! :D
Since I've heard this song I've been trying to remember what other song the melody reminds me of and I finally got it. Especially the chorus makes me think about the german song Griechischer Wein by Udo Jürgens, which is pretty cool because that song also picks up some of the same themes of loneliness.
Right! Now I can't unhear it anymore.
Can't stop listening to it. Such a banger
I really love that chorus.
Would you classify this as steampunk?
Diane Wara not particularly. We do seem to have a lot of people who are into us that are also into steam punk
Someone say steampunk
Super recently stumbled on this song while on a spotify rabbit hole. Absolutely obsessed with it
I discovered this song 2 years ago and I literally can't stop listening to it.
This is my favorite song from my favourite band and it makes me feel awesome.
It's incredibly well done and the feeling of empowerment it gives you it's something very difficult to imitate, not only that, but the instrumental is fenomenal, so are the vocals. I'm addicted to this.
I L O V E this song so much!! It's a blessing I found it. Amazingly upbeat sounded yet very dark when you listen to it. It's perfect.
Great song. That's all thats needed to be said.
Hombre que chucha, estás canciones están súper buenas :0 porque no tienen todo el amor que merecen
I have no idea what you said but you have Feferi as a pfp so that’s cool
@@zipperooni ´´Damn these songs are super good, why doesn't this have all the love it deserves?´´ :)
i found this song by an accident, best accident ever!! you guys need a lot more attention than you get
the music is like a hypnosis, can't help but sing along
They are so underrated
This song came up on my Discover Weekly and it lead me to my newest obsession!
Im a trans man but this kinda hits me in a certain way. Like, with feminism you're supposed to be advocating for gender equality but so many people always seem to exclude so many others. Its like being in a room with people who you wanna seek help from but everyone else is too focused on themselves; and this doesn't have to be with just feminism! Other minorities have so many of these issues. I hear so much from people in the LGBTQ+ community of "gays are safe now! We should talk about (insert sexuality here)" or "trans people are talked about enough- what about (insert gender identity here)" its not that others shouldn't be talked about, they should! But it feels more like an oppression contest rather than truly wanting to spread awareness. It makes your own community feel more like hell.
I dunno, maybe Im just talking out of my ass but thats what this song makes me feel 😅
Wow people really say "this gender is done lets move on to another" tragic really
Feminism is advocating for women's rights. The advocation of equality in general is egalitarianism.
Please don't get them mixed up.
Saying that feminism is for men's rights as well is so hypocritical and ironic it's not even funny. Feminism, something created specifically for women, can't even be about women anymore. Men just *have* to have a share or it's not allowed to exist.
everyone connects with songs differently, i think ur perspective on it is absolutely beautiful
@@pasteldreams5413 "saying feminists care about men's rights and making things better for everyone is so hypocritical"
@@pasteldreams5413 certainly hope you include ALL women in what you call feminism
This song is just so good. Then again, this album is amazing!
Man, this song is REALLY catchy! Has the same 'stuck in my head, and I'm not mad' vibe as ABBA.
i LOVE this song its been stuck in my head for months!
This song is super catchy
This songs stuck in my head, I love it :)
not me crying because this song hits deep, it's a great song and a great band :) thanks for the song
randomly found this by accident
and wow, this is really good
Excellent. Stick around, the water is warm.
Great song. I really like the bridge at 2:17
Just found this song and now i love it. 💕
20 or so times i listened to this in the past 2 days and i just noticed it change from she to you
I could be wrong but is this song about stay at home moms that were forced to be stay at home moms? Or just oppressed women in general like the lyric “she’ll never ever edge a word” means being silenced. Like that picture of women in the (1700s- 1920s). At a time when women had no choice but to be a stay at home mom. Thus being described as “lady hell” and also the lyric “...to encounter cliches of endless chores and thankless children to raise”
You know what thats a good view on it.
I interpret it differently, first the quote starts with "You may expect..." leading into "...to encounter cliches of endless chores and thankless children to raise" rather than stating it is that, second the quote is followed by "but trapping women in a kitchen is too kitsch to be a prison" meaning that would be too tacky so they instead did something else, third is the "she'll never ever edge a word in herself" is more basic, one of the few things that truly upset me is to keep being ignored, fourth that hurt doesn't end because "somehow she's still holding onto all of her dreams".
This is just a case of hell is whatever keeps working, irony may happen but isn't necessary, pain works on some but not for others, and society is core to humans.
Though it explicitly talks about a “hell” I don’t exactly interpret the lyrics as them being situated in a specific place or period of time, I think it just talks about the universal struggles of being a woman (the so called “spell” which men can sympathize with but never truly understand, therefore they don’t exist in that “space”) in a society (the cell) that often expects them to be something they don’t necessarily want to be.
They still have ambitions of their own and dream of that someone who will actually listen to them, but since many of them feel trapped, they just force themselves to love a Hades. But it’s not just these Hades who won’t listen, that includes other women who, despite going through the same and being so busy minding each other’s bussiness, still can’t bring themselves to empathize with the very same women they talk about all the time.
Thank you for your reply and I think Dirt Poor Robins are one of the most unique and amazing groups I’ve ever heard. Especially love The Same as I and The Great Vacation. Thank you . Also love The Furthest star .
I believe the song is refering to the real world and how it is hell to women, it says men aren't included because they are respected and listened to. Or something like that
like a movie soundtrack
really good music
Just found this in my Spotify feed and it is tune and catchiness just doesn't quit
I only recently found DPR and this has fast become one of my favourite songs
Solo e escuchado por una semana esta banda y la amo es mi favorita
i can't stop listening to this oh my
Am I dead then
Edit: No I can’t be in hell, they would never let music this good in. The goal is to torture, isn’t it?
The comment section is trying so hard to dissect the meaning of this song as if the lyrics are not explicitly obvious.
No. Gosh, what *could* be the meaning of this song?
It couldn’t all be a metaphor for the way woman (used) to treated now could it?
Welcome to lady hell
There's no men among the creatures
'Cause we prefer to customize every feature
To make sure that hades is the bane of every lady in the the world
Whether she's a woman or a girl
You may expect to encounter clichés
Of endless chores, thankless children to raise
But trapping women in a kitchen is too kitsch to be a prison
But here's the real smite of the feminine afterlife
Though there's a crowd in her cell
Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else
She can never ever edge a word in herself
'Cause no one will listen to her in lady hell
For as sad as it seems
Somehow she's still holding on to all of her dreams
Even though we know she'll never break from this spell
She can't let go in lady hell
Look around there are no tricks to pass the time
Forever occupied with greener grass upon her mind
And finds no satisfaction in the finest of distractions
Though she dolls herself up she will never quench her passion
We theorized that the greatest form of torture
Is to keep her here and to endlessly ignore her
Took it to market and we did obtain
Loneliness is our darkest brand of pain, oh
Though there's a crowd in her cell
Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else
She can never ever edge a word in herself
'Cause no one will listen to her in lady hell
For as sad as it seems
Somehow she's still holding on to all of her dreams
Even though we know she'll never break from this spell
She can't let go in lady hell
Come on, there's always room
We've saved a place for you
Come on, there's always room
We've saved a place for you
Though there's a crowd in your cell
Everyone's preoccupied with everyone else
You can never ever edge a word in yourself
'Cause no one will listen to you in lady hell
For as sad as it seems
Somehow you're still holding on to all of her dreams
Even though we know you'll never break from this spell
You can't let go in lady hell
You'll never break from this spell
You can't let go in lady hell
This is the first song I've heard of this band, and I really only listen to three songs at the moment because those three songs have been instant favorites and I fear what these songs are capable of.

I've been listening to this song non stop for the last two days. Great work guys! Do you ever do live shows? Can you please come to New York!?
Ah!!!!
Brilliant!
preciosa canción
I know we’re supposed to look into the deeper meaning, but did this make anyone else think of orange is the new black?
So many of y'all are saying the song is about some kind of sexism thing when the entirety of the song indicates that it's about how we desperately crave attention
I mean i think its both.
It could be both. Every human on Earth needs attention, nomatter how stoic people may seem. We are somewhat social creatures by default. A problem that has luckily been growing in recognition is that wemon aren't exactly taken seriously by men and sometimes even other wemon. As a girl who is currently trying to build up a starting career while young, I can confirm that there's alot of times where people will listen to males over you weather that be intentionally or not. We're often seen as "too emotional" or "not all there in the head" despite doing basically the same thing as our male counterparts. This gets very lonely very quickly. It's only inevitable that we can come off desperate for attention when in reality we just want the same attention that others are getting
It could be a mixture of a lot of things, that's the beauty of different perspectives
Part of it at least is a lady's own impression that she isn't being heard. And here is the start of man's hell... and he will be forced to start ignoring her pleas for attention... and so the cycle continues.
There's a fantastic Tarot card that illustrates this bondage men and women share quite well.
Is it really lady hell without any men there?
Poetry yes
You make one mistake and instead of an "oh its cool idc" you just get A CRoWd OF WHISpErS AND NO ONE TALKS ABOUT ANY TOPIC YOU LIKE BECAUSE *"oh thats not very lady like" WHAT DO YOU MEAN IS IT REAlLY LADy HELL* (this is a joke im not trying to offend anyone)
I suppose these are all personal hells...
One of my favoritea
