Fantastic video Sue!! What wonderful facts, too! I always learn so much about Barbie from you!
Yes, Francie does look like Patty Boyd!! I just always loved her Mod look! Now, why didn't Mattel make The Fab Four "Ken" dolls back then? They would have sold so many. And, we could have collected them today!!!
Thanks Sue!!! You are wpnderful!
Mod Girl ❤
Thank you so much Mod Girl. You know Francie looks like you too! 😊 I do wonder why Mattel didn't make any Beatle dolls. They did make a Beatle wig which I wish I had. 💕
Thanks Sweet Sue!! You look like her too!!
I do have the original NEMS Beatle blow-up dolls! They are the ones that look like the cartoon that came on TV on Saturday morning in the late 60s! I scored those back in 1988 at a garage sale. in New Jersey!!! Haha!
Also, got the Yellow Submarine lunch box thermos! Still need that lunch box though!
Haha!!
Mod Girl 🚖
I agree with everything you said! ❤
Seems like a definite connection! Very observant! I wouldn’t have ever made that connection. Francie is one Barbie I don’t own but trying to change that soon. Love your videos, thanks!💕
I fell in love with the Beatles at first sight in 1964, and still love them!!! Love your shirt. I have an Abbey Road jacket I love.
I love Barbie too! Awesome video Sue!!!
Rock on! I must have been around 5 yrs old when I feel in love with them. Still am, just like you. I bet that jacket is awesome!!💕
I think you are so right about Pattie and the Francie doll! You should read Patties book, Wonderful Tonight, I loved it. She just turned 80 and is still beautiful. Her and George were such a beautiful couple. Georges son by Olivia, looks just like him.
@carolg7966 I will look for the book. Wish I had it before I made the video. But I have watched a lot of video of her talking about her life.🥰
Love seeing your videos thank you
Francie is my favourite doll, when I've looked at pictures of Pattie Boyd, I saw the resemblance. I don't know too much on the Beatles, but it's pretty cool and forward of Mattel to take that route.
For the times she would have been the “it” girl to model a doll after.🥰
This is truly one of your best videos! Very entertaining and informational. Like watching ET! Thanks
OMG. I never realized that! Makes perfect sense. This video/conclusion was entertaining to watch and ponder over and I definitely see the connection ... I'll bet that they (Mattel) didn't want to make this "redirection" towards a more modern philosophy without a lot of fanfare because it may look like Matell was behind the times and didn't want to seen as the previous generation's doll but continue to grow and evolve into this modern world. This is brilliant and I totally agree. Thank you so much and keep them coming!
I think so, glad you agree.
I love Francie! I love the mod eyelashes. I have never found a Twiggy doll. Great video!
I love all the Mod dolls. You are right Twiggy is hard to come by. I have one and a head that need rerouting. lol 🥰
Wow you always on point Sue! And yes, I love your theory on this… very plausible and most likely what happened… thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights! Cheers! ❤
You are so welcome. I think there is just no way around it. LOL Thanks for watching.💕
Hi Sue, Love The Beatles and I Love Barbie so you already know Inlove your video!! Such a perfect tie in!! 😉😍♥️🥰💖
Thanks so much Dori. I worked really hard on this one. I just started putting 2+2 together and it made sense to me. Can you imagine how much they would have had to pay a wife of a Beatle in 66. LOL
@@BarbieLove 🤣🤣😉🥰💖
Yaya New video ❤
Hope you like it!
I never thought about it, but I think you are right!!!!
Thanks, sure appears to be her.🥰
Awesome video Sue I enjoyed this very much learning about Barbie and beetles 😊 I love francie barbie doll ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it. I love them too. Interesting story though.💕
Thanks so much Sue! Love the Beatles and I remember Patti Boyd. Yes she certainly could have inspired the Mod Francie doll. Love your videos. You always teach me something new about Barbies. :)
Oh Thanks Diana, I certain try really hard.💕
Francis is so cute, and I agree she’s the first teen-looking Barbie! She totally represents the modern English look of the 60s. Reminds me of the female look on Austin Powers. 😂
The quite essential British female look of the 60’s. Thanks for watching.🥰
I like the research you did on this. You make some great points. Francie really does look like Patti Boyd! Thanks for singing Beatles songs for us! ❤
Haha, my singing is just a little joke. I can’t help it when it comes to a Beatles song though!! Francie Aka Patti Boyd. 😂🥰
Your videos are amazing they are so informative and interesting. Makes sense.
Thank you. I do try!! Glad you liked it.🥰
Wonderful video! Keep up the good work!💜💜
Thank you so much! I hope I can. You know what I mean.
We need theories around Barbie/Mattel world, it sounds amusing and inspiring ❤
Yes, I agree. Hope I can come up with some more interesting ones! Thanks for watching this one.💕
@@BarbieLove you most welcome, please keep on the good stuff
I used to have a PJ doll and loved her, all my Barbies I had when a child got lost in my many moves. All my others are in storage
Sorry to hear that. I lose things ever time I move. I just moved a few months ago.😬
I definitely agree! She looks almost exactly like her! What a beautiful doll tho I love 60s fashion in general 💖
Me too. Love that France Aka Patti Boyd . lol Thanks for watching so much.🥰
Francie and the Beatles makes a lot of sense, after looking at my doll.
It's logical to me. Patti really had a youth appearance. She could still pass as a teen in her 20's. Thanks for watching.
Great video yes Francie does look like Patty❤
I love Francie
Me too!!
The hairstyles do look alike. It makes me think of that movie "Yesterday" where something happened and a guy found that he was one of the only people in the world who remembered a world with the Beatles. And they didn't go far into it, but there were brands that never came to be in a world without the Beatles. So, in that world would there be no Francie and no Stacey? :O :) Just fun to think about. Though it would be sad if neither of those beautiful dolls had been made...
The Beatles did certainly bring excitement and beauty into the world. Some through means they never probably even thought about: Like dolls.😍 Yes, it would be sad to think about no Francie or Stacey! Yikes!!
Love your video all I had was talking barbie,Frances
Thanks, Talking Barbie and Frances are cool!!
Hey Sue, love your videos. Yes I do think that Patty Boyd and her mod look was the inspiration for Francie. I'm sure Mattel was paying close attention to the mod British invasion. Marianne Faithful had that look too but maybe she was a little later. I am always curious about the face sculpts as to who they may be modled after. Any thoughts on the TNT? Always curious about her. I haven't read any Barbie books so maybe its talked about.
I don't know anything about the long hair TNT, but the Marlo flip is of interesting. Also The who the first Malibu was inspired by. That one I do know.
Love the new thumbnail! 😁
Glad you like it! A good friend made it for me. 💕
@@BarbieLove she sounds like a great friend, and nice and pretty...lol
You nailed it!!
😊
I want to add to your observations. First, Mattel was very protective of Barbie. After all several other toy companies had tried to come up with dolls to compete with her and they had all failed. Remember the little chaps, or Tammy and Miss 17. So.Mattel didnt want to take a big chance on changing Barbie's looks and have her fail. So bringing out the Francie doll was a way for the company to "test the waters" with new hair styles, rooted eyelashes and even changing the flesh color and adding a black doll. If Francie had failed in there market placer, it would not have affected their prized toy. The toy that single handedly made Mattel the biggest toy maker, passing the market leader Marks
Thanks for your observations. They also made match box cars which were also a big seller. Love the older dolls, but the Mod's were my childhood doll.💕
I think this was a very in depth and interesting take on the invention of Francie. I would have only added that the African American version of Francie was groundbreaking.
Thanks, I have covered the AA version before in a different video. Yes I have that doll and LOVE it!!!💕
Pretty sure FRANCIE was based on NANCY Sinatra (boots came out in 1966). The grooviest girl at the time. She was petite with honey blonde hair and brown eyes. I mentioned this to Nancy on Facebook she gave me a thumbs up. Just sharing my thoughts.
We really will never know. Good theory Deb. I have also seen pics of Patti with her hair looking just like the growing hair Francie. However Nancy does have the brown eyes. But Patti was younger and looked more like a teen in my opinion. I would love to see you do your theory in a video.💕
@@BarbieLove I did mention it in my Barbie's Friends video. Who knows? Pattie is 4 years younger than Nancy. I still am going to keep my theory. 😃That is why my parents bought Francie for me, as I was (and still am) such a Nancy fan.
This makes a lot of sense, but Mattel made a big deal when they released the Twiggy Doll, based on Casey, Francie's friend. But I totally see Patty Boyd as inspiration
Absolutely. They would have had to pay a Beatles wife quite a large sum.😂
I think you might be right. What about Casey? You didn't mention her. I think she's cute. Love your videos!
It’s just my theory, but it adds up to me. Glad you agree. The Casey doll is just the same as Twiggy. Same face. She is a cutie and I have videos at least one maybe more videos showing and talking about Casey.🥰
Greetings from Mexico a few days ago I subscribed, I really like your channel, although I don't speak English, I always try to translate it into Spanish so I can understand it, greetings and blessings.🎉😊

Hey I have a question I have two twist and turns and they each have a different number on the left bum cheek does anyone know about the numbers and know about any identification guides 😊
those single number I have ready are significant. It was just something they used in the manufacturing plants. What do you need to help Identify? I am sure I can help.
@@BarbieLove thanks I appreciate the reply I loved your video by the way it was super cute and I had no idea about the Beatles connection! I Have identified my dolls I was just curious about the numbers thanks so much!
Sigh. I was looking for a Francie, but if she is connected to Patty Boyd, I say never mind. Patty Boyd broke George Harrison’s when she cheated with Eric Clapton. I kinda can’t get behind Patty Boyd.
I can’t say this is fact but George was said to already have been cheating with Ringo’s wife. ( I just heard that can’t verify) Francie is a cute doll. But that decision is yours and I get it! Love those Beatles. Thanks for watching and commenting.🥰
