If you were to cut the top flat as if he was two grow waves would it be a 2 close up top and a 1.5 open when blending the sides to the ridge?
1 guard with the lever fully open is a 1.5 ... so after the 1.5 guard you should use 1 guard lever closed then half way open.

How come you don't use the wahl half guard fully open?
What is the difference between a #1.5 guard and a #1 guard opened?
why 1 guard open, 1 closed, 1 half-way? Why not 1 guard open, 1 guard half-way, 1 guard closed? is there a difference? I love watching your videos!
Are you using the whole blade with the bald line, 1 guard and 1.5 guard? Or dare you using corners?

When I edge up my son I end up hurting him sometimes and noticed I have to have it at a specific angle. Any tips? Also, he was very sensitive skin, is there a lotion or ointment you could recommend to ease the redness? Thanks!
Perhaps your using too much pressure? I usually just tap it with my clippers and it cuts soft and smoothly.

Hey either your trimmers are set too sharp, or you may be pressing down too hard. Aloe Vera gel is really good for soothing skin. I hope this helps
