I have been tutoring on Cambly for two weeks. I really enjoy it but I’m looking forward to establishing regular students. I over scheduled myself one Saturday and learned just how exhausting it can be.☺️ Thanks for your great video!
Yeah, it's great once you get regular students. I did priority hours for the first couple of months, but once you've got a good rating and your students have a good lesson with you, they'll keep coming back. It's months now since I've had to do a priority hour. You also make good friends with some of the students.
Great video! Cambly sounds great BUT $10 per hour doesn't make it worthwhile to me. Why don't you move to another platform where you can make double that I wonder? I'm looking at Verbling myself though I'm new to online teaching.
It's actually not even a guaranteed $10 an hour. The exact amount of pay is 17 cents each minute you are talking to a student, meaning a maximum of $10.20 if you talk for an entire hour. Often, however, you may talk for only 30 minutes out of an hour and be paid $5.10. The only guarantee is you will be paid $2.55 for 15 minutes even if you get no calls in an hour. Cambly's rating system is even worse. The only positive of working with Cambly is the flexibility.
Haven't watched the video yet but will save it to watch later. Just want to say that I started tutoring on Cambly three weeks ago and am loving it so far 🙌

That's awesome. I've been doing it for a few months now and really enjoy it. The friendships that you make with some students are great.
