I'm sure that it's about her and her boyfriend Joe. He really worked at a Joghurt Shop. She mentions how he helped her over the hard time for reputation, the dive bar wich she mentions in her song Delicate about him as well, they really were at the lakes wich is the title of the bonus track. The list goes on. So I'm pretty sure that Invisible String, Peace and The Lakes are the songs on Folklore about her and Joe. You need to know her last two albums to fully understand the song. I think that's a reason why I love Invisible String so much. It's like a summery of the last 4 years for me. And it makes me happy for her. I like your interpretation as well. I was waiting for this reaction. :)
CSProductions.29 My thoughts? That would be awesome. XD She started writing about Joe with Reputation. So maybe you should start with Rep and Lover. Reputation is one of my favorite albums of her. It's very different from folklore so it would be a good contrast. 1989 is great as well as Red and I started to really like Speak Now. On Speak Now she wrote all of the songs by herself. You could do all of her albums from start to finish as well. All of them are different and have great songs and you could see her development. :) I think my ranking at the moment would be Folklore, Reputation, 1989, Red, Lover, Speak Now, Fearless, Taylor Swift. :)
The lyrics are about an invisible string that ties Taylor to her boyfriend Joe. A string of events brought Taylor to Joe. There’s a symbol in each and every line of this gorgeous song. This is the genius of Taylor Swift. I LOVE LOVE this and all the other songs by Taylor. One of my favorite lyrics from this beautiful beautiful song is ‘Hell was the journey but it brought me heaven’. I can really relate to rhis lyrics. ♥️
I have a strong feeling that all the loops in the lyric videos were filmed by Taylor herself. Assuming that she is behind the camera feels really special to me, even if that isn't the case. Specifically the loops in Illicit affairs and the last great American dynasty, those seem to be from her own properties. Just my opinion.
This song is about her relationship with Joe Alwyn (they have been together for 4 years now) and how there is an invisible string tying her to Joe. It’s kind of like when you get into a relationship and you start talking about where each other were at different points of your life. When Taylor was in New York, Joe was working at a Yogurt Shop and both them were completely unaware of each other’s existence and that in a few years time they would be in each other’s lives. All these events they experienced ultimately brought them together. All this heartbreak and hardships that Taylor experienced was maybe difficult but it’s what had to happen for her to meet Joe.
This song screams Red Thread of Fate. In some Asian cultures, they have the belief that we have a red invisible thread that runs from our pinky (which is connected to the heart by an arthery), to another person we are destined to meet at some point. The thread cannot be broken, and regardless of time, place, circumstances, it will eventually bring us to meet that someone. Now, Taylor has a thing with love and colors: she has mentioned that she sees red love as the combustible type, can be crazy strong...but also explode. To her, real love is golden: shiny, lasting, doesn't fade or combust. So, she wouldn't describe her thread to Joe (assuming it is about him) as red: "a single thread of gold tied me to you." Hope you're doing well. I appreciate the positive attitude and openmindness you input in your videos, makes the reactions really enjoyable!
Fun fact: Taylor did a cover of “September” and changed the lyrics from “21th” to “28th” and now us swifties think that’s their anniversary (Taylor’s and joe’s) then now they just turned 4 years together
You are one of my favorite youtubers, an honest open minded man who loves to experience new artists, if there were more people like you, the world would be a better place.
I imagine it has a intentions on the lyrics videos as well. It was the first time she dropped the lyrics videos together with the album. In “peace” she sings “clowns to the West” the way she capitalized W just tells me she is talking about the Kanye West. So for me even the words that are not straight have a reason to it but I particularly couldn’t put it all together
I'm a little surprised that you haven't looked up any information on Taylor after all the videos you've done! But yes as others have said, she's been dating Joe Alwyn from England for the past four years. They keep their relationship extremely private but occasionally you will see a picture of them together. They live together in London and in the US. He has his own acting career in England. Her last album, Lover, has many songs on it about Joe, London Boy, Cornelia street, Daylight, Paper Rings, and Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince to name a few. Also, if you look up the cover art of the Lover album you will see the purple-pink skies she is singing about in Invisible Strings! I always look forward to your videos on Taylor!
Thank you carolann. I greatly appreciate your kind words and help. I love having the conversations with you all here in the comments so I try to learn as much from you vs. independent research. I think I may have to dive into her "lover" album you mentioned. I'm not sure if i've actually heard a single song off of it.
Now that you've listened to this beautiful album. I suggest you listen to her older stuffs . RED is very recommended. A lyrical masterpiece to me. As well as reputation and Lover. See ya

the waitress part was during her and her bf's 3rd year anniversary vacation out of the country ("on our 3 year trip getting lunch down by the lakes"). I believe it was at the Caribbean.
This Thursday is for Taylor and her Invisible Strings she's pulling. Can't wait to see you all here later. =)

Thank you so much for your help and kind words! I may have to check out some of her earlier albums after we finish this one. What are your thoughts?

That's so true, and so good! Great to see beautiful things come out of difficult situations.
This song is so soothing
Now that I’ve been binge-watched all your Taylor Swift’s videos, what do I do? I was addicted to it
Haha You're awesome! There will be more soon. I'm working on them along with other requests.
CSProductions.29 ok ok take your time! You’re doing an amazing job. Don’t give up

Maybe that's how it really is Cynthia? Idk!

Funny how life works sometimes, huh!

Uh oh.... Is he putting a ring on it soon? lol
CSProductions.29 “ I like shiny things but I’d marry you with paper rings” Taylor said herself...haha

This song explains why Robert Pattinson and me are meant to be together. Just saying
He doesn't know that yet
Hahaha That's so good! lol

bad blood actually her song too
If a guy comes to me referencing this song as if it was about us, I’d marry him right away
