Have you looked into Motorola photos? I've tested a few. They're Android, affordable and pretty easy to use!
Mint vs Tello... for my needs I would go with Tello. Tello permits me to use wifi calling when I travel in other countries, curiously Mint doesn't! (US only for Mint). That is a deal killer for me. One last thing, Mint will support eSims for iPhones and Pixel phones and they can't tell me when/if it will become available for other phones. Tello indicates that sometime 4 quarter, 2022, they should have eSim support for android phones.
can you please tell me if Tello permits you to receive SMS and incoming calls when you traveling abroad and using WiFI?
Mint Mobile Wi-Fi Calling also works outside the US. I live in South America and it works just fine, Calls and SMS. Yesterday I switched to Tello, I signed up using eSIM, and everything works as expected. I didn't have any issues with Mint but is more convenient for me to pay on a monthly basis instead of bulk since I can change my plan every month to suit my needs.

@@josephuzonna1535 hello there, I have an iPhone which supports eSIM, so I can use a physical sim and eSIM working at the same time. So yes, it does work while aboard if you enable Voice over Wi-Fi in your phone (VoWifi)
I got a line for my unlocked a71 dual sim phone. on the first day of service, I got 17 spam calls. this is beyond ridiculous. I added the phone number to the do not call list. hopefully, it stops all the unwanted calls. mostly health insurance, extended car warranty, solar panels, and other junk. as far as the service itself, I have not had any issues as of yet. I am happy with the service. hopefully, I can stop the spam calls.
You can get them to change your number for you. If you didn’t port in your number from another carrier, you likely were assigned a number someone else had already used before that signed up for a bunch of online accounts; thus the cause of all the spam calls.
I don't understand "wi-fi" calling. How does calling work otherwise?
Calls are typically over cellular networks. But Wi-Fi calling comes in handy in areas where cellular coverage isn’t good (maybe an office building or warehouse-type store) - and allows you to make calls over a Wi-Fi connection.

Does Tello push software updates like with the major carriers?
Good Review. I wanted to sign up to tello, coming from Consumer Cellular. I have a 2nd Gen iPhone SE, pretty new and entered the IMEI/ESN number. First just the IMEI number and said it wasn't supported. Then I entered the IMEI/ESN number as one long number and same deal.
I sent an email and got no helpful information, just some tech poop I don't get. How is my iphone not ok with this service.

What's the model number of your SE?
Model A2275 (the US version) supports the LTE radio bands which T-Mobile* uses, but the A2296 (global model) and A2298 (China model) might not. T-Mo uses 4G bands 2, 5, 4, 66, 12, and 71. There are apps you can download from the app store to tell you what bands your phone can use.
Also, are you 1000% sure you typed the 15-digit IEMI correctly? It's easy to get the numerals mixed up. No spaces. Try putting it in a text file, then copying and pasting.
* Since Tello uses the T-Mobile network, any phone on Tello must be compatible with T-Mobile.
Does making call internationally actually work?
Whew! All of these various plans! What I want is the abilty to simply call, for example, Social Security Admistration, various California pension departments (such as CalPERS, CalSTRS) and my bank and financial institution from Portugal to the US? I'm permanently moving there in August and want to be able to easily contact them if needed. That would be all. So, would MyTello work? Would Zoom or Skype be 'better'? The same? (As well as toll free numbers)
Per the Tello TOS it's only for use in the United States.
Hello. So right now we have Verizon. I am home almost all the time and turn the data off on my phone. Mostly because I don’t want it to switch over automatically if our WiFi stops working. Could I do that through Tello?
I know you mention we can make WiFi calls through the Tello app, which leads me to assume that I won’t be able to just turn my data off (like I do now) and still make calls !?
You can still turn data off all the time.
To make non Wi-Fi call you don’t need either WiFi or data.
To make Wi-Fi call you need one of WiFi or data.

You can browse on the internet with cellular data -- it's not Wi-Fi that you have with a home internet connection though
I make a lot of phone calls. I'm worried about what you said about the sound being "slightly muffled". I'm currently with T-Mobile and have a Samsung Galaxy A71 Android phone. Since Tello is on the T-Mobile Network and I will carry my phone over to them, shouldn't I have the same quality of sound?
I think they're still worth a shot. I will re-test them soon.
I live in turkey and I just wanted to keep my phone number from USA, in order to continue to do MFA. Would this work?

iphone 12 series does support 5G...Just make sure it's turned on. You can find it in Cellular settings.
I am aware of this, but Tello didn't offer 5G for iPhone users at the time of testing/filming. I haven't checked to see if this has changed.

How is customer service? I’m thinking about getting Tello, but am worried about crummy customer service.

You don’t get what you pay for with AT&T, Verizon, or any of the bigger ones. They all manipulate your phone to consume data at a specific rate. There’s no way to know when you are being messed over. Sick of the $200 phone Bill for hardly using my phone during the month. The main reason I use my phone outside of Wi-Fi is for Google Maps. Well, with Google “off-line“ maps, there is no need to have such expensive service. Switching to Tello.
What would you recommend for a mobile hotspot that's cheap and you can game on
That's tough because for gaming you want low ping. That means you're probably looking at a main carrier, not a prepaid one. So T-Mobile Magenta Max has a 40GB of high-speed data for hotspot. Is that enough? Maybe some US Mobile plans would work too and be cheaper.

I switched to Tello but my service was very bad. Customer service was great just not good cell service. I made sure I had coverage in my area beforehand. Had to switch back to Net10.
Are you using Net10 on the AT&T network? Tello is T-Mobile. Either way, Net10 has some pretty good plans. I'm glad you're saving money with them and have good coverage again where you live.

I want to try it but I want to port my number from Verizon, if I decide I don't like Tello is it hard to port off?
I don’t think so. Just time your switch a few days before the billing cycle ends
Ha Ha , trying setup my andorid has been a big pain. Also been trying to call them for support has been "sorry one one is avaliable to help you now". The same with texting them for help..

I am shopping for a cheaper plan: unlimited data made more sense when we didn't have internet at home, but we do now ! and I can't see continuing to pay for what I'm not using 🤪
Then you might like Tello for sure. I spent about 2 years with Xfinity Mobile and was on the 1GB plan, mostly for the reason you stated. I used home Wi-Fi and was just careful not to be on apps all the time while out of the house.
So far I like Tello I have it the plan I have is super cheap and I am not worried about how many gigabytes I have when I'm always on Wi-Fi the gig of bites are basically download speed just like a hard drive when you use of your hard drive with a computer you have to delete stuff the only thing different is what the cell phone when you use up the gigabytes it just slows down for it it means it just download slower but if you have Wi-Fi you should never have to worry about it something to think about and about the phone thing just bring your own phone but like I said I like Tello a lot

I was told that the resource is listed on a website, which was not mentioned in the video or in the description. How was I supposed to know that? I'm not a RUclips creator I admit that. But how hard can it be to put a link in the description that one ANNOUNCED would be in the description?
With all these quote on quote discount cell phone plans Mint Tello etc etc they should really put in there get you in the door advertisements after so many months your bill will increase to something similar or a dollar cheaper to what Metro PCS sells by T-Mobile with no physical locations if you ever need one. I'll leave these plans to the demographic who's buying them
not recommending tello. its website is misleading, especially its "unlimited data plan", where somewhere else using small font for "25G high speed, then 2G low speed data".

DATA DATA DATA...it is a PHONE not a computer first and foremost. Any company that doesn't talk about voice quality, dropped calls, or things that affect "talking" on the phone is not a phone company for me. 99% of this is data speed and data network coverage...I need to be able to speak on my phone. Who does that the best for the lowest price? Please.

these days Smart are phones 99% computer and 1% phone the voice quality doesnt come from the network its phone quality they been building 0ut the Cell networks for decades now so thaht gimme. In the Past Data always been very expensive as uses lots of bandwidth. If you dont think you use data for your Phone they prolly dont use it at all.
i use my spare S20 on tello and it works ok for the most part but is often in a dead zones
in south fl, where as my Tmo is just fine,,,,doesnt make sense so im guessing Tello gets the ax when the system is busy,,,,, was in home depot, Tmo perfect, Tello totally dead ????

I have vrry good experience from customer care, They help me to correct my email and use tello. Mr Suel Zegarra is a very pleasant and nice guy wjo is dedicated to help
