I love this so much. It's amazing to see what you can do with so little space. Thank you so much for sharing your video. I'm looking to make a cube camper myself as I don't think I'll ever own my own home, alas I'm lookin got to making my own cosy corner !
WOW, everyone! I just logged onto here after not looking at it for probably 3 years and was so excited to see all of the feedback and people inspired by my cube! So I took the cube camper on a month long journey in 2021 from California to Montana and back. It was awesome and I was so enamored with my adventure that I decided to go on the road full time! Unfortunately as much as I adored my cube, it was not realistic for full time so I had to sell it and I bought a minivan I built out as well. I've just rounded out my 3rd year on the road and it's been amazing. Live life to the fullest!
Thank you for this video I have a 2012 Cube and I love being on the road but wasn't sure how do a build or setup for long drives in this wagon 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing design, I like the storage area above the cooler!! Brilliant usage of the area above your feet too!! Stealth camping in a Cube, ultimate stealth! Safe travels
I have a 2011 Nissan cube and I’m so glad to see someone found a way to make it livable! I really struggled with how to make a bed that I could lay down and I’m only 5 foot three but it was difficult. It never dawned on me to lower the passenger seat like you have. It’s also great to see a woman. I hear from Bob Wells that the majority of the van living people are women!
Thank you! Yes, I"m about 5'4" and have plenty of room. Only downside is the reclined seat takes up storage space. Also, I'm not a FTer, just taking trips as of now, but never say never :)
@@traceyweiss8271 I may become a full timer but not for a little while yet. I found a place where I can stay temporarily. Friend of mine is going to China so he’s going to let me rent his house for really really cheap.
I have a 2012 6 speed Cube and I love it. I'm 70 and I love going on road trips. I always loved going camping but now, I'm more of a hotel kind of guy. Your Cube camper conversion is genius! If I were 10 years younger I'd copy your efforts in a heartbeat. You seem to have thought of everything. Have you made other videos of actually camping in your Cube? Even though this video is a year old, I'm going to subscribe so I can find out. WELL DONE!!!!
watching here in the Philippines,i wish that kind of car will be available here also.i believe that it has smaller engine to offset the higher cost of commodities right now specially the fuel products.many thanks for your video
I'm currently in the process of converting my Cube into a lil camper so I can travel for scuba. I LOVE how you did the bed, and the way you did the storage shelf-to-table is so clever. I'm definitely stealing your bed idea. It's been two years since you posted this video. Is there anything you would've changed/done differently now that you've had more experience living in it? 👀 I don't expect a reply, but I'd love any additional advice or tips if you have them.
I'm curious tracey: *Did you take out the back shelf on the bed side?* I have camped a TON in my Element & getting in & out the back door is pretty damn handy. Thinking about buying one of these on Saturday. If so I'll be doing a conversion like yours except with solar. Storage only on the driver's side. Planning on counterweighting the load on the L side with batteries for solar + other heavy stuff under the wood floor on the R.
Bracket & hinge the shelf. be glad u did. easy. or just bracket, drill brackets & shelf at corners, run bolts thru, easy to remove & replace. 2 hours at home despot. I almost bought that one to replace Square Car. (Cube Car!) It was a good deal and I lovelovelove the door but 33kM camry for 10k too good to pass up. took serious removal of seats & construction to get it to sleep right tho.
Looking at the Cube or a 04-06 Scion XB because Honda Elements are ridiculously overpriced right now. The floor is much flatter on the Cube from the looks of it.
Did you end up painting the wood? There’s something that’s been haunting me. When we go to the SWAPMEET in our cube to sell stuff my wife sleeps sideways in the back she’s 5’7” and she says she falls asleep just fine. So my thought is why don’t you just put the bed sideways?
I did not paint the wood, I just put a urethane finish on it for protection. Your wife must sleep curled up. I like to sleep on my back and at 5'4" I do not fit sideways.
this is very insiping and neet! I would love to have a minicamper like that, I own an even older nissan cube 2002 anz10, but he's to small for a built like this :)
The way you have your bed is easy access In case you need to roll over pop into the drivers seat and drive away. Love this! So glad you posted it! 😁

@@traceyweiss8271 congratulations!
Love love love this. Just purchased my cube also converting to a camper
Great video
Would love to see it when you're finished! I'm doing some alterations now as I just returned from a month long trip and learned a bit about my needs.
This is actually insane! Great demonstration of talent and ingenuity
HAHAHA Thanks ;)
Fabulous! Inspirational!
thanks!
This looks very cozy!

Pretty ingenious use of space
This is the most functional build I have seen
Thank you. You have to be resourceful with so little space!
Its all fun and games until people walk pass and see you sleeping in your car
@@thereviewboss I have window coverings. Also this is for camping, I don't live in my car FT.

you did such a good job! i have the same year cube and i have been thinking converting it as well. Thank you for inspiring me!
Thank you for the inspiration!
Awesome job. I think you've inspired me. ❤️
Nice setup, love the simple design.
Thanks!
Cool layout.
This is amazing! 😲
thanks!
IT'S AWESOME!!
Now, if they would've made an AWD Cube, with a 2" lift, I could go about anywhere!
That would be AWESOME!
Very inspiring! My Cube is a 2009, so...
Amazing

You can even do some midnight judo on that bed lol 😝 😜

Thanks! Sorry, its been forever since posting. I took the cube on a month long trip and no, it was perfect for what it was.
Very nice work! I'm about to do a cube build myself, I may steal a few ideas from you!
thank you!
how many feet long and wide is the bed?
I know this is WAY too late but the bed was just big enough for me, I'd estimate about 5'8" long and maybe 30" wide
How did it work out for you? Any camping adventures? Inquiring minds need to know....
Thanks for the video.
How did you remove the back seats?
Is it something you can do manually without tools?
With simple tools.
It's a metric socket but I don't recall the size now. Easy enough though.
Tracey, did you ever have plans drawn up?? I want to camp my Cube and this may be a good idea! Especially here in Eastern Oregon camping conditions.
I sketched it out myself but not really.
My rig is a CUBE!
Thanks for sharing, this was inspiring. Any updates?
Thank you! Unfortunately I sold my cube to get a larger van for full time travel but I miss it.
Did you do anything for the front passenger seat back to go all the way back or you just turn it all the way back normally?
Very late response, but no, just need to remove headrest is all.
Thank you so much!

Probably too late of a response, but no, the shelf stayed in when I slept, if that's what you mean.
@@traceyweiss8271 Right on. Always best to just do it.

How hard was it to remove the backseat
Sorry for late response. Not hard, a simple socket wrench to remove a few bolts.
Thanks for the video, how long is your bed platform, im 6’2’’
It is less than 6' I'm afraid. I'm 5'4" and it wasn't more than 3-4" longer
How did you fold the front seat ?
When the back seat is out and the headrest is removed, it goes all the way back.
Would you be willing to share your plans? This is killer but I’m not great at conceptualizing things. Need plans!
Sorry, but I don't have any more
Id love this for when i was working a long distance away and was shift work.
How does a cube go for someone who is 1.8m?
I'm 5'4" and have room to spare, but it might be close!
Looking at the Cube or a 04-06 Scion XB because Honda Elements are ridiculously overpriced right now. The floor is much flatter on the Cube from the looks of it.
in your honest opinion do you think a 65 inch flatscreen tv could fit in one of these cars?
I don't know where you'd put it! haha
Hi! How did you remove the back seats.
It's very easy. Just 4 bolts, 2 in front, 2 in back. One big piece.
@@traceyweiss8271 I removed my back seat for an epic mountain biking trip. Camping to come. Utah to Banff! Maybe doing the bed install.
