I mean that is a weak division, anything is possible. I do like the moves they've made in the winter. I really like their coach, Quatraro, too. He is from the Rays coaching school and is a forward thinker and smart guy.

@tomcruze7898 what are you talking about? it's an absolute garbage division and the Royals somehow still managed to lose 106 games, and in the last 20 years only the Royals and Chisox have won a World Series, the Twins haven't even been to a World Series in over 30 years.

Dude I'm happy you're showing some love to this great fun team. I was following baseball a lot more then and it was so cool to follow this team. It was in my opinion the best pure baseball team in the last 20 some years. It had all around it had good players every position they didn't rely on these big bats and home runs which are overrated as heck. A really good Bullpen that changed how people thought about baseball
I can't believe the Royals got Mike Trout. It's crazy that is the only team Trout has played against in the playoffs and lost. I guess if you can't beat em join em 😏

I feel like the Royals are taking inspiration from what the Texas Rangers and Arizona Dbacks did back in 2021. Both teams had 100+ losses but by making immediate big splashes in free agency while also building up the farm system, within 2 years these two teams go from bottom of thier divisions to facing off against each other in the World Series this year. Thats just my opinion.

hey i never forgot about my 2nd favorite team! My dad drove me to kauffman when i was a kid during the sweeney years. I dont remember who they played or if they won but i loved it. They have been my 2nd fav team since my dad told me MO had 2 teams. I really hope this works out for them, im glad its kc seizing the moment of the 3 bottom teams of the al central to capitalize on the worse division in baseball. We're also due for another middle finger to the media I70 series which was only ever trumped by the cards vs browns but that was long before the media was like today. #ShowMeBaseball

Based on the off-season so far, it seems like the AL Central will be between the Tigers and Royals. Those teams last won the division in 2014 and 2015 respectively. It'll be nice to shake things up, even if it is in the worst division in the majors.

Based on Runs, the Royals were -8 Expected Wins last year. It is often the case that that kind of bad luck turns around the following year.
As a tigers fan I'm very afraid of the royals this year. They spent more money this offseason and could win the division. I also don't hate the royals. They have some of the nicest fans and have one of the most gorgeous ballparks. These fans deserve a winner imo

Royals are fighting for 3rd place unless they trade these signings at the deadline. I do enjoy seeing them spend money to coach the young guys though. They have some good young players. Just no way they are competing for the division. The only team the Twins need to be afraid is the Tigers, I just don’t think the Guardians are going to be that good. Especially if they trade Josh Naylor, though I don’t see that happening granted this is the guardians. I am also surprised that so many people think the Twins are “bad”. They should still be heavy favorites.

The Guardians are always a low spending team bc the Dolan ownership is cheap, but to make things worse with the bally sports bankruptcy issues they are concerned might not receive all their tv money which makes things even more dire. I wish they would make some solid moves like the royals are doing, bc we have a lot of good young talent and Jose Ramirez of course.

I’m just trying to figure out if I like the Royals over 73.5 wins and my thought was these signings would compliment the young talent they have coming up, then I look and there’s really nothing, even the Adam Frazier signing sort of like Will Smith helping the last 3 teams win a World Series he’s helped the last two teams breakthrough to playoff teams, could this be his third in a row? Or will most of these signings end up getting traded at the deadline? I love the offseason so far but are they 18 games better than last year is the question..

Remember that the braves also traded Nick Anderson and Kyle Wright to the royals. If Wright comes back from his shoulder surgery at 100% they will have a great top of the rotation starter.

2015-2015 royals were all about just moving baserunners scoring just one run. Sacrifice just to get positive data points. If they had a lead in the 7th inning they were going to win the game with HDH
Ok as a royals fan i will say d-back rangers and the o's all lost 100 games in 2021 but yet one was the best them in the AL one won the world sires but then the d-backs made the world sires but lost so yes maybe just maybe the royals will bring playoff baseball back to KC and also pull a d-back run

If we could trade him for a decent closer and a prospect i would be all for.
You forgot to also mention that the big reason why they’re doing all of this is because they want us to contribute to the new stadium that they want to put downtown

It’s because the team wants a new stadium and everyone including visiting teams are like wtf you don’t need a new stadium at all it’s one of the best! The fans keep saying start winning making the playoffs making the series etc then we will talk new stadium. So the royals their plan is to do just good enough for just long enough to get the new stadium approved and started. Hell the Chiefs which are the only team deserving enough to ask for a new place says the stadiums are amazing and they are staying and they are going to another Super Bowl!!! Anyway it’s Probably why all these Royals contracts are short. Then once they got the stadium back to being crappy and owners only caring about money (if they didn’t care about money they’d be happy at the K which one of the best stadiums). All this so they can have a few extra bars outside the stadium near the entry gates thinking people will spend triple for a beer there before a game because it’s close to the gate instead of going elsewhere or tailgating for less or nothing. They are wrong people will not pay triple for royals owned bars. The new owners don’t like the K because the parking lot is so big people can tailgate bring in trailers etc and they make no extra cash off them. The royals are to stupid to realize moving it downtown won’t make them more money because less people will go to games now because our downtown sucks there is a reason we didn’t build there 53 years ago!! Hell it’s a ghost town there nothing but homeless and lofts of 22 year olds who want city life but can’t afford a real city. It’s safer for my family if we stay where the stadium is at now. Ibyad a friend from San Diego call me at 9 am on a Tuesday asking if there was a holiday in Kansas City because there was no traffic and nothing happening. He said middle of the burbs in Kansas had more that’s how dead and bad downtown KC is. Anyway they will also make less because parking will suck so people won’t go and we don’t want to pay $28 for a beer just because the bar is near the gate and owned by the team when could bring our own or pay $8 elsewhere 2 blocks away. Pay and deal with crappy parking just to sit 3 hours in 105 degrees whereas now at the K parking lot as easy and if to hot could go to a tailgate party. Oh and we have 105 degree summers and they aren’t building a retractable roof. I’d go to most games every year if it had one because sometimes I don’t want to sit in direct sunlight 105 F heat with no wind and 87% humidity!! People found out this year new isn’t better. Our new airport sucks. The traffic setup is insanely stupid at the new airport and what was once a 2 min walk turned into a 5 mile 1 hour walk while passing by 68 empty gates for no reason other than money!!! All that so it’s easier to buy a coke and have slightly bigger bathrooms come on. Anyways the royals I was not a fan of glass but these new owners are worse and I saw it coming miles away sadly it’s all about $$$ not the team.

The Royals were bad for all of 2023, except for September when they were a ridiculously fun team to watch. With the way this off-season has been shaping up, I think there is legitimate hope for meaningful September baseball in 2024. As a Royals fan, that is my barometer for success. I rallye hope the royals will be good, but the twins second half of last season was really strong. The Twins where one of the best Teams in the second half. And hat a different Roster compared with their first half. So yes the Team Has downgraden, but its the Team from the second half thats downgraded, Not the Team from the entire season. The twins second half Team was about a 92 win Team and even in they only win 87 games next year that should be enough to win the division

They aren’t. They always “competed” minus 2017-2019. but it wasn’t enough. Why would you rebuild if you know the last one failed. Most rebuilds fail so the Sox aren’t the only team with a failed rebuild. I’m a sox fan and it’s rough. Sox being cheap isn’t the problem, they are a mid market team and yes they do spend money but its how they use it which is rather poorly.

To me 2015 was the year I saw the best Pirates team in my life choke in the playoffs and then collapse back to nothing since then.
They are honestly just rebuilding. Their bullpen is pretty bad, and Will Smith is just 1 guy in the bullpen. They've been doing this for the past few years signing a good couple of names, and valuable assets to trade later on in the year. The joke for the fans recently has been that they sign the next World Series winners, because they trade them later on in the year.

@@darrinthurston3308 Sonny was still instrumental in the Twins making the playoffs.Maeda was also pretty valuable for the Twins despite the injuries and 34 ain't old for a pitcher cause they might pitch for at least 4-5 years more.The central is still the most competitive division cause of how bad the teams are the tigers,royals and twins all have chances to win pretty comfortably.
