It’s so nice to hear her sing something other than Mean Girls. She’s so talented and so versatile. Cinderella in Into The Woods? Would die to hear her sing “On the Steps of the Palace.”
She was Belle in our high school production of Beauty & the Beast back in ‘09. There were some videos of it on RUclips, but I think most of them have been taken down...
I came into the comments and saw everyone talking about Meadowlark. Not knowing the song, I didn’t know what to expect at all. Overall- 1. Amazing song 2. Awesome performance 3. Well, her vocals were, wow.

After the first song, I was thinking how well her voice would go with Meadowlark and than she sung it! I didn't expect her voice to have such a classic theatre quality. This video is probably the perfect letter of recommendation for yourself. She shows off not only her range, vocal abilities and acting skills, but also her excellent musical intuition. I would totally see her play Maria in West Side Story, or even Glinda in Wicked. With a voice like that the possibilities are endless.
I'm looking at doing Meadowlark and somebody somewhere for college auditions but I am worried they don't contrast enough. What are your thoughts on it?
@@BIRDWITCHE It depends how you present them. You could sing them quite similarly, but I don't think the songs ask for that approached. They both have very different characters to it and you can definitely highlight that. She probably picked them because they complement her voice, so I guess they go well together. Good luck!
@@ClipsByLaura thank you, that's what I was thinking, but I still was worried I was too close. I can always do a huge dark contrasting monologue that might help my case. This helped me decide, thanks!
I think it is so impressive how bold and clear her voice is despite keeping her mouth so closed. I think it is one reason that Erika specifically is so good at fluidly transitioning from her speaking voice to her chest voice.
okay but when she sang one of the highest notes in the second song I just randomly thought, OMG she could totally play Maria in Sound of Music and absolutely kill it! She would slay any role ever though
Erika has such a gorgeous voice. I’m glad I got to learn some of her dream roles. If I ever got to ask the HH cast a question at a Q and A, I would want to know all their dream Broadway roles.
I had put this on as background music while I played video games, but Erika is so enthralling I stopped to just watch this. I’ve only ever heard her sing in Hazbin Hotel and Mean Girls, so it’s cool to hear a fuller range of her talents. She’s incredible.
I've yet to listen to the Baker's Wife but I will definitely look into it after this stellar performance! I had no idea how much of a soprano Erika was, I love her even more now 💕💕

She has such a ‘theatre’ voice in Now You Now, and such a legit sound in the next - someone get me the versatility
Totally see her playing Sondheim’s Cinderella fr Into The Woods
Jilliane C.B sameeeeeee
I'm really impressed with her legit head voice! It's so beautiful to hear how versatile she is. 💕
petition to cast erika as anna in frozen if it ever becomes a live action movie
With Taylor Louderman as Elsa!!!!!
Love a good pianist keeping up with that meadowlark tempo (:
yeah the pianist was really legit
She was amazing!
i was in les mis with her years ago and she played cosette, i missed her soprano singing :,,)
Omg! You got to work with her!? Who did you play?
She should play Anna on frozen broadway she would be epic!!!!!!
Her classical musical theatre voice is so impressive! What range!
I came into the comments and saw everyone talking about Meadowlark. Not knowing the song, I didn’t know what to expect at all.
Overall-
1. Amazing song
2. Awesome performance
3. Well, her vocals were, wow.
There's something about a classical Broadway song that takes my breath away.
okay but she’d be a great anya... just saying!!! 🤷🏻♀️
My thoughts exactly! I need this now!
I never knew I needed this to happen until now
She actually auditioned for Anya, she told me after I said that same thing to her
Yessss please!
I was thinking the same thing! She reminds me of Christy do much here!
Im so excited to see her play Charlie in Hazbin Hotel, shes so good at singing. 😁
0:45 "Now You Know" Mary Flynn in _Merrily We Roll Along_
2:36 "Somebody, Somewhere" Rosabella in _The Most Happy Fella_
5:08 "Meadowlark" Genevieve in _The Baker's Wide_
ugh, keep coming back to replay 'Somebody, Somewhere'.

Rosabella in TMHF is my classic Bway dream role

I was hoping she’d do Not Getting Married Today
i LOVE that video of her doing it. she just seems so exited

She really just made Sondheim sound easy
Fully seemed as though she was writing those lyrics in her own head on the spot. #ACTRESS
I’m happy to know about her.
She’s so energetic and positive, it’s infectious.
love mean girls but I feel like Cady doesn't do her vocals justice like LISTEN 👏🏼 TO 👏🏼 HER 👏🏼
oh my god when she sang meadowlark i got chills all over
Did not KNOW she was a soprano. Amazing.
we just not gonna talk about how she brought that last note from like a B to an E or somethin my GOODNESS
happy she did this!!! her playing cady is a very VERY big understatement to her actual talents
I think it is so impressive how bold and clear her voice is despite keeping her mouth so closed. I think it is one reason that Erika specifically is so good at fluidly transitioning from her speaking voice to her chest voice.
I noticed that some musical theater singers sing this way, with very little space in their oropharynx. How? And she makes it seem so easy 😮
@@lyssasletters3232 Came her from the Hanna Bayles video and I think its because of the space she keeps in the back of her mouth
okay but when she sang one of the highest notes in the second song I just randomly thought, OMG she could totally play Maria in Sound of Music and absolutely kill it! She would slay any role ever though
The voice she has. Just wow.
And she seems so lovely and down-to-earth, too.
I LOVE when belters sing legit
I love your voice and I love Charlie whenever you think it reminds me of her and I just love that voice❤
Honestly. I think Erika is my favorite actress on broadway right now. 😍😍😍
KaylaNoel101 Ikr! I was so lucky I got to see her live
Omg!!! It’s great to hear her not singing Mean Girls, and singing some older musicals instead (although I do love mean girls). She’s just so talented
I’d love to see her as Cinderella in Into The Woods or Maria in Sound of Music!
Does Erika remind anyone else of Laura Osnes?
Ella Hyde yes
yes, she is the one i was thinking of, a new Disney princess,,,or Cosette, Maria in West side story
Ella Hyde omg meeee
@@francotan502 She actually played Cosette!
Ryan Faure I knew it, thanx for the confirmation
1:54 please appreciate the speaking into singing there like woah
She has a Sondheim voice if I've ever heard one!
The thumbs downs are from bway stars knowing she's coming for their jobs 😂💛
I love her in mean girls and it’s great to hear her sing something different!!
The Baker's Wife song is beautiful! I was not familiar until this video. Erika's so talented

she’s honestly legit! I can’t even explain how incredible she is
Erika blew me away in Mean Girls but i’m far more blown away by these songs! Her voice is so beautiful just like her!
She would be a perfect Mary in Merrily!!
Such an underrated musical tho
I audibly gasped when she chose Merrily We Roll Along music for her first choice
wow! What a great selection of songs, and she does them all so well! She was my favorite part of Mean Girls, I think she's so incredible!
She's also my private vocal lesson coach in real life!

Hadn't heard of her before and am now a fan.
Charlie!
When I was a girl l I had a favorite story
Of the meadowlark who lived where the rivers wind
Her voice could match the angels' in its glory
But she was blind, the lark was blind
An old king came and took her to his palace
Where the walls were burnished bronze and golden braid
And he fed her fruit and nuts from an ivory chalice
And he prayed:
"Sing for me, my meadowlark,
Sing for me of the silver morning,
Set me free, my meadowlark,
And I'll buy you a priceless jewel
And cloth of brocade and crewel
And I'll love you for life,
If you will sing for me."
Then one day as the lark sang by the water
The god of the sun heard her in his flight
And her singing moved him so
He came and brought her the gift of sight
He gave her sight
And she opened her eyes to the shimmer and the splendor
Of this beautiful, young god, so proud and strong
And he called to the lark in a voice both rough and tender
"Come along.
Fly with me, my meadowlark,
Fly with me on the silver morning,
Past the sea where the dolphins bark
We will dance on the coral beaches,
Make a feast of the plums and peaches
Just as far as your vision reaches
Fly with me."
But the meadowlark said no
For the old king loved her so
She couldn't bear to wound his pride
So the sun god flew away
And when the king came down that day
He found his meadowlark had died
Every time I heard that part I cried
And now I stand here starry-eyed and stormy
Oh, just when I thought my heart was finally numb
A beautiful, young man appears before me,
Singing â??come, oh, won't you come?â??
And what can I do if finally for the first time
The one I'm burning for returns the glow?
If love has come at last it's picked the worst time
Still I know
I've got to go
Fly away, meadowlark
Fly away in the silver morning,
If I stay, I'll grow to curse the dark
So it's off where the days won't bind me
I know I leave wounds behind me
But I won't let tomorrow find me
Back this way
Before my past once again can blind me
Fly away
And we won't wait
To say good-bye
My beautiful young man
And I.
hi im in love with erika henningsen that’s all
THE VERSATILITY.

All right, now you know
Life is crummy
Well, now you know
Okay, big surprise
People love you and tell you lies
Bricks can fall out of clear blue skies
Put your dimple down
Now you know
Okay, there you go
Learn to live with it
Now you know
It's called flower's wilt
It's called apple's rot
It's called thieves get rich
And saints get shot
It's called God don't answer prayers a lot
Okay, now you know
Okay, now you know
Now forget it-
Don't fall apart at the seams
It's called letting go your illusions
And don't confuse them with dreams
Yes sir, quite a blow
Don't regret it
And don't let's go to extremes
It's called what's your choice?
It's called count to ten
It's called burn your bridges, start again
You should burn them every now and then
Or you'll never grow
Because now you grow
That's the killer, is
Now you grow
You're right, nothing's fair and it's all a plot
And tomorrow doesn't look so hot
Right, you better look at what you've got
Over here, hello?
Okay, now you know
Right?
