- Guro Eliseo "Jun" Barja breaks down similar motions that translates from impact (baton, flashlight) to blade (knife, machete) to empty hands. There is a change in calibration based on the tool/weapon, but the concept is the same.

It’s the same motion as parry, stick hit, check. Parry, cut, check and parry, strike, check. And it all stems from the parry, parry, check drills. Very well explained 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Of course, we've seen the same motion across various styles in FMA. In the end, there's a lot more commonality than differences.
I don't know if you know any sinawali or not. A common pattern is called heaven 6. All high strikes, inward right forehand high left backhand & high right backhand then you do the same on the left hand side. Breaking it down empty handed, you parry with the right hand check with the left hand & strike a right backfist or hammer fist. Parry check strike
i like the Miami Vice 1980s colors tshirt logos.
They are cool. Jessie was able to grab the electric blue design when he was in Florida :)
@@FMAPulse wear it with some Ray Ban Wayfarers, shoes without socks.
@@dasfreshyo LOL! Socks? While in Florida all you need are sunglasses and sandals :)
@@FMAPulse thats what the cast wore in Miami Vice
Thanks sir 🙏🏼
Most welcome.
Thank you for explaining this. Many people are still confused when you tell them the motions of the weapon movements are the same with empty hand.
Some people agree with it, some people don't. But it all depends on the individual who understand the art form.
I dont understand yet. Aldo i am still doing heavy stick work and light striking work
This is what drew me to FMA, the multiple uses for the for the same simple movement
Agreed, some would debate that comparison, but if it does help and explain basic movements to teach a person.
You two look like you have a lot of fun training
Always having a good time. Can't always be serious :)
Maters in chanelas... I love this stuff
It's the FMA way of doing these LOL! Back in the day, they used to have cigarettes while training.
He looks like a 200+ pound Mark Dacascos with a good tan.
Do you have some video about panatukan?
Is this a question for Guro Barja and Balintawak South Florida or in general?
U can't control the hand after cut the hand with this motion. Because if enemy do the cut motion his knife wil be move forward far from U. And U must go for his hand with the knife (if U want to take control). Motions will be not in close range.
Ok smartass, it is just a DRILL. No one fights like that. Your kombatan is still incomplete
