    • @mpmlopes
      @mpmlopes 2 года назад +3

      that doesn't sound right. Firstly because RAtM are not exactly the type to change lyrics because of a label. Secondly, because the whole rest of the lyrics is about institutionalised racism in the police forces. Thirdly because office doesn't really rhyme with crosses. Fourthly because I've seen a recording of one of their first shows at some US university campus and I don't recall this song having different lyrics.

    So like with a lot of punk musicians (a lot of them a very smart) Tom Morelllo the guitarist or this band dropped out of Harvard. He was in band at Harvard with Carolyn Bertozzi who later become a laureate of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2022. Morella's major, unsuprsingy, was political science and hge graduated. Another pretty rad punk musician is Dexter Holland from The Offspring. You can think whatever you like about their music but Holland has done so much for HIV going forward. I am someone who works in it and I can not thank him enough. He went back to school for his PhD and his paper, along with the other co-auther, talks about the sequences of HIV and it was awesome.

    Tons of good songs worth reacting to but I'll say:
    People of the Sun
    Down Rodeo
    Roll Right
    Year of Tha Boomerang
    Sleep Now in the Fire
    Maria
