Interesting that they composed a la Taupin/John re: separating out lyrics and music, although they say they've mixed it up more in recent years. I've not yet looked at Glen's solo work but am really impressed with Chris' assured ability to do both lyrics/music in his solo stuff. Checkout e.g. A World That Passed Me By/Goldfish/On My own I'm Never Bored/Round the Houses/1975...
