Saw them in this period at Notfolk Boathouse and they blew my mind and blew the roof off. The best live band I’ve ever heard. They were so tight and smooth with a very unique sound, just the best !

First ever concert as an 18 year old in 1982 at Lancaster Uni, seen loads of times since, more recently headlining Let's Rock Shrewsbury last month. Excellent performance as always

The commercial failure of this album led to them disbanding. They reformed three years later.

Not really sure why they let Jools Holland sing at all? Good piano player, not a good singer and definitely can't front a band. Plus, he wants to play old time jazz piano.

I was there

I saw them in Kansas City on the "Play" tour. What a concert that was. For various reasons Pete Thomas was on drums and Steve Nieve (playing one handed, as one hand was heavily bandaged) was on keyboards. Chris was not there. I got to meet Glenn at the bus after the show and he said Chris had a lung infection. It was an acoustic show. Billed as the original members of Squeeze. That was certainly not the case. For me, an avid Elvis Costello & The Attractions fan. I was pleasantly stunned. What a great show!

@steve bertram. Thank you for all of your efforts in bringing these Difford and Tilbrook/Squeeze etc. recordings and videos to RUclips. Have you ever heard a recording (or you may already have in your archives) of Chris and Glenn singing the old Cliff Richard song “On The Beach”? Back in the last century, Chris and Glenn were on an afternoon radio show at the BBC - might have been on “Steve Wright (RIP) In The Afternoon” and they performed the Cliff song. I hope you have seen Glenn play one of his solo shows where he asks the audience for requests and he just sings and plays the songs. He’s like a “live jukebox” at these gigs! Thanks again for all your work. Stay safe and well.

Tilbrook is on another level/atmosphere. I honestly believe he is the best, ever!! His band is an extension of him: perfection. And his singing???? Another demonstration of pure soul and talent.

I was lucky enough to be at this concert after being one of the lucky MTV Whitesnake Spring Break Express winners. It was a blast, and Squeeze was incredible! Such great memories ... and a crazy blast from the past to see me and my friend in the audience!

Babylon And On was a very memorable album - I still play it.

Squeeze is really all about Tilbrook. Difford is also a very lovely chap who writes with a lovely talent.
