omg you should do “the great war” by Taylor from the second i heard that song i thought of Delena because they literally went through so many obstacles and fights and break ups and wars before they finally got it right and had their happy ending and decided they’d stick with each other forever.
After rewatching the Vampire Diaries series, I approached things from another angle and I found that the series enchanted a toxic couple like Elena and Damon. And I find that many toxic couples have been romanticized in a way that's not possible, practically making viewers believe that true love is tearing each other apart, hurting each other, playing "I love you, me neither", and to be passionate. Besides, they say it themselves: they are bad for each other and know it very well. If viewers fantasize more about the couple Delena (Elena/Damon) rather than Stelena (Stefan/Elena), considered healthier, it is in particular because of the sexual tension created between the first two characters. Because if these relationships are unhealthy, abusive and sometimes violent, they are very often represented in an eroticized way, allowing young girls a certain emancipation. I find that representation in fiction greatly contributes to the trivialization of toxicity. Omnipresent and too often idealized without prevention on the part of the authors, these models participate in the fantasized vision of the conflicting, even abusive couple.
this IS INCREDIBLEEEE, i love this song so much and i never thought that it would fit them so perfectly
Never heard this song before but it's so pretty and I love how the lyrics match their story - beautiful.
I heard this song, and I knew there had to be a Delena video. You did not disappoint.
