This classic track was recorded 47 years ago on this day in 1974, Soul fusion at its finest, a cosmic experience when you listen to the genius of Lonnie Liston Smith, especially his early material on the Flying Dutchman label, space age Jazz Funk/Fusion of the highest order, this track Lonnie's finest moment, in terms of crossover sales
Great to hear Lonnie Liston smith junior. His music is so relaxing. His farther would be so proud of him for carrying on the tradition of the Expansion. Phil Rudkin.❤😂
I Love It!!! Guy Getting Down On The Sax - Give The Drummer Some!! The Bass Is Kicking!! Thanks Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston Smith Tom Browne For This Jamming Performance!
Omg, tears in my heart and on my cheeks, effing heaven this touches me. Use to speedskate to this in London in the 80s never forgotten three Kings on stage.
To You legends Tom Browne, Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston Smith and other jazz I admire you all for keeping jazz alive, teaching the young generation getting educated, learning their craft being mindful had it not been for the jazz legends who paved the way for us generation we wouldn't be where we now. Some of the young ppl who are rap artists to stop and pause give respect, honor and acknowledge them. I will always I'm not gonna let those organizations, the ones who control the music industry i don't judge them but I handpick music that soothes the hearts, lifts my spirit and touch my soul as well. As a keyboardist u are my mentors and influences living or deceased. Thank you Roy Ayers, Gill Scott Heron, Norman Connors, Lonnie Liston Smith, Grover Washington jr. God bless you continually much love and respect to u always wherever you are I hope you receive this
This is what’s called a jam session and it was great!!! Seems like after this hit Lonnie Liston Smith faded away or I lost contact with his music but he still got a nice groove. True musicians can just mesh together on any song really.
Yeah, Back in the day I had no idea brother Ray was doing all that solo cosmic /spiritual work on vocals. I thought it was Lonnie. Kind of like Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes-Teddy Pendergrass? Now. Now...I am not trying to start anything. Just saying.
Saw these guys with Jean Carne in the New York Jazz Explosion at Hammersmith Appollo in London 1985. Amazing. Just saw Roy play at Xoyo, London on my birthday (Dec 2017) Bless him, he's 77 and looked pretty frail, but he signed my 1985 T shirt!!! Amazing musicians. Long live jazz-funk!! (Remember how exhausted you'd be after dancing to this track? SO fast! 😂😂)
wow..straight ahead lonnie and roy. what a treat!!!..i spent my high school years in the sixties in los angeles listening to roy and bobby hutcherson ( went to my high school john muir in pasadena ) thanks for posting! seasoned veterans.!
3/4s of The New York Jazz Explosion, toured the UK with Jean Carne back in the 80's, absolute outstanding concert. Were coming back a second time until we had terrorist issues in London
Wow can you believe this or what. Gosh imagine if they all got into the studio together and made an album. Now that would be the best most far out album ever.
