Lovely drawing. I always struggle with pencils trying to layer colors. I keep wanting to be able to work like oil paint where I can layer opaque lights over the top as highlights

You need to start using reds and greens to make the skin tone right for the shadows in the skin or you'll never get the right tone at all. Same with the hair . Also use pastelmat paper to get better details thats what i use . From phot to your drawing your drawing is to in the red orange tone add greens and blue to cool it down .

Too many mistakes: not her nose, the eyebrow on the rightn too thick, left chickbone not correct and of course wrong form of the face, thats why there is no similarity, her neck wrong painted , hairs not completly done and so on...
