How I became a full time illustrator from a graphic designer

I love "working for myself, not for somebody else".

Thank you for sharing your journey!! I also suffered from politics, corruption and mental torture at work but couldn't leave because of financial reasons until my mental health fell to a bottom less pit and I quit. I don't do anything now, too afraid to work with people. I am hoping to now start working on my own and from home. Thank you for inspiring me!

Ahhhhhhh I know what you're feeling!!!!! It takes time to get recover from all the damage... focus on something totally different, in my case it was making drawings, helped me.. I hope everything will work out for you!!!!

I just found you today on Instagram and I saw you had a channel. Thank you for sharing your journey, and for being so open and honest. It's really inspiring!! I'm a full time designer (20+ years) and I've been frustrated with what I've been doing for the past 8 years. Just this October I decided to finally do something about it, so I'm trying to transition and become a full time illustrator. This is what I needed to hear to keep my feet on the ground and to push me to move forward! Thank you :)

oooh nice to meet you fellow designer :) I am working part time designer now, it pays bill. And this also helps me more focusing on the illustration side. This journey is still tough but I take this as a long term plan... as I cannot see myself as a designer 10 years later. Wish us good luck!!
