could more time be saved by sheltering somewhere before the depths and using the extra egg to launch yourself across the longer bits of the depths? Seems like the biggest time loss is having to run all that way to get to the gaurdians
yeah the last 5 minutes and 23 seconds of the run (12:39) are spent running through the depths. If there's any bits that are straight enough to launch yourself with an egg itd be a massive time save

That's how emergent qualities of the game manifest. Combine the egg and a slugcat, you get a super dash catapult. I don't think the devs foresaw that.
