I used India Ink and Isopropyl Alcohol, just a few drops to a couple ounces. Go for a coffee-like consistency. Experiment though on the type of wood you are using and adjust. Some people keep the solution on hand pre-mixed, but I mix for each job during the build. I should probably just make a big batch.
Looks Great! Looks like something even i could build. Although I think that now, I thought I could assemble a Kadee #704 height gauge and that went to h*@! in a hand basket

I am skimming it because I am curious about wood stains. I can.t seem to find where you talk about the acahol and india ink stage.
