the beauty of live dead music is that we get so many different versions of the same song that they become different songs. it only makes sense to those of us that have followed them over the years. it's nuances galore!!
Picked my kid up from school had this on the alpine cranked up didn't even remembe what I was doing until son hopped in car and he told me to turn it up.

Funny thing I've noticed -- if u look @ UTube music comments, it's truly amazing how many ppl just happened to be born @ EXACTLY the right time to be coming of age in the era of the VERY BEST MUSIC EVER -- EVERY epoch both b4 AND after that decade (or less!) is just trash. SO lucky they r, to have chosen THAT PRECISE TIME at which to be born! And... there's a similar pattern among some Deadheads. Probably just coincidental... (For what it's worth -- I, too, feel that this is the Dead's best era -- but that's abt when I 1st encountered them, too... So I'm no different.)
ErikinBelair my hat is off to you. Thanks a BILLION. I was 9 years old when this happened and nobody would take me to a Dead Show. Lived in Oregon so Buffalo was out. If not for great people like you posting this stuff, I never would have heard it and been the poorer for it. Loooooovee this stuff, thanks, RIP Jerry, Ron, Keith, Brent, peace, goodwill, smiles, good feeling. Aaaaahhhhhh.
After the concert everyone "stormed" the ships at the harbor it was some funny shit. All the roads were blocked off, lots of lights beepin/peepin everwere you looked. I slpt under a truck that eatin raw hotdogs.....one of the best days of my life!

Unreal. Listening to this version from Buffalo, seeing dead & co. next week. obviously you catch match the dead in their prime, but I'm excited to be able to see the closest possible thing to this. ⚡💀⚡💀⚡💀⚡
I never minded, in fact I set him straight a few times, looking right at him singing my heart out, he seemed to get back on track more than once. Besides there's nothin left to do but smile, smile, smile.
I dunno. Great version but for my money? This one is my fave - aside from Jerry being Jerry the entire band explodes together in tremendous fashion. Def worth a listen - coming out of Dancin' ruclips.net/video/lekTeNRHrQI/видео.html
the seat rows were real steep like your feet were at the level of the persons head that was in front of you. During intermition I saw some guy fall like, roll down 10-15 rows of seats and over a wall 20 feet down to the stairs.......than the lights went out
but I sold ALOT of home/silked screened shirts/ luved seein em everywear..... saw a lot a them at this concert/kinda tripped me out in the best NATURAL way/ but I was a Babe

Obligatory but nonetheless sincere & heartfelt: thanks for answering the call...
I'm my opinion the best version of Franklin's Tower.
I concur! Pure joy and full of infectious GD energy.

I agree that the Buffalo show is the best recording of Frankin's Tower. Jerry sounds strong, his guitar work is excellent and the band is tight.
I'm right there with you. One word keeps resonating; superlative!
Wow kick ass version!! Dead were on fire that night

This entire show smoked from beginning to end.

The Aud was pretty scary up there in the nose bleeds. You could step on the person's head sitting in front of you it was so steep.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with her singing here. This is one of my favorite shows, and I think she sounds great all night.

It wouldn't help.
The place where there should be a soul in that person, there's no there there.
I blame his father.
A nice copy, without donna's shrill, atonal singing ruining every line. Could do without the tuning at the end, though.
Really good version, but FAR from the best one. Not even close.
