    nut and binding area paint chipping off is normal , gibson exactly like that, they did a great job even copy that, headstock looks alright to me, not odd or strange i mean, lot people just for the body , chibson les paul getting better and better ,the construction very solid , give you a very good based custom your own guitar, put pickup or something you like, and make the guitar better .

    That's a nice looking guitar, most times I see good quality chibsons go for $300 bucks but keep this in mind when buying one there's a 50/50 chance of customs flagging it.

      Yes this one came out pretty good I would say . You can definitely tell the difference when it’s in your hands , but from afar it’s a pretty solid match.

    Would you have still bought it had it said Chibson on the headstock instead of Gibson..?

    I've had Gibson's come with a truss rod cover crooked. 2001 I bought an Angus Young 1961 Gibson SG with vibrola. Nice case and also a nice cloth of a cartoon Angus. Our bands manager would surprise us with different guitars. He bought me personally a Parker fly custom. He bought the Gibson Angus Young signature 2001 model. That was for our rhythm guitarist. And that Gibson had some major issues as we found out a little bit later on down the road. I had many guitars but never one with a vibrola. The strings have to be set at almost half an inch. Off the fretboard. The bridge pickup had a special nickel plating that turned a silver swirl and black and cannot be cleaned.. after our manager passed away. Me and the rhythm guitarist took that guitar down to a local shop here to find out what was wrong with it. Gibson had set the neck incorrectly in the neck pocket. I thought perhaps it was something with a vibrola because I never had one with a vibrola before. And that started a long bad history with me and Gibson. Out of about 20-something guitars have only had two that were really good in 1974 SG reissue with the mini humbuckers. Actually I think that was the only decent one?. And the Angus as she was purchased from Gibson. All together it's like almost 2,300 back in 2001. So yeah Gibson's do come goofed up all the time. I've had them come with dead humbuckers like one who has Paul I have right now. And Gibson does not like to respond if you go to their tech support on their website and stuff. Anyhow I'm talking into my phone I hope it posted everything okay?. Usually talking into the phone like this doesn't work out but I'm not on my computer right now.

      What people don't understand. Gibson is eliminating their brand guitars under a that are under 2K and filling them with Chinese made Epiphone that will run you $1,300 or so or even higher. So you're buying an epiphone at a price that you could have bought a real Gibson for just a few years ago. But I also own Apple phones I used to buy the same Epiphone model that I would have in Gibson. The science of pickups being weaker and a plastics being cheaper most of the Epiphone Guitars play better than their Gibson counterparts. Witches unfortunate but true. I would never spend over a thousand for any Epiphone Guitar. Unless and that's a big unless it was made in Japan. Some of my main guitars are Japanese made guitars. And they all outplay My Gibson's. I have a 2003 fender strat that was made for the 2004 40th anniversary. And it plays incredible. You have to go through many Gibson's to find one that plays good. And if you order them off the internet like I do it is a real crapshoot and even when I have right now if I were to send it back to Gibson because of the Dead humbucker that will not be to guitar I will get back and this one has a very beautiful characteristic to the wood top to the maple. So I'm getting ready to put a flash humbucker in the bridge position. But it came from Gibson like that with a defective humbucker. Which means they did no sound test on it even though it signed off on the checklist paper that comes with it. There is no way in hell anybody that Gibson ever plug that into an amp. Or I would never have been sent out. All right have a great day man I sub to you and like I said I'm talking to my phone so I don't know how this is going to turn out?

    You have to realize that Gibson has had many variations to there open book headstock over the years,and I believe this shape was on one of there models,what makes a lot of the chibson headstocks look longer and odd is where they place the tuners,they are always higher up, and closer to the logo on real les paul,I believe since this model is so popular,that they pop them out without paying attention to detail, I have a chibson cherry burst standard LP,and it's as close as you can get to the real deal,definitely the best budget les paul in my arsenal,it's has slim tapered neck that feels wonderful,I bought mine to gig with too,but I consider it too nice to take out also,chibsons can be inconsistent,but they seem to be getting better and better.

      Thanks for the comment. I never really considered the variations of the headstock. However, I’ve really never seen one this wacky, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. This whole guitar is just odd. It’s really sometimes difficult to play with that weird neck feels awkward when you’re sliding your hand up and down

      I think the 1970s headstock was a bit exaggerated and similar to this Chibson's.

    Does that have a nitro finish?

  • @Zoilu
    @Zoilu 8 месяцев назад +1

    I custom ordered a Les Paul Custom in Nitrocellulose finish from the Chinese last last week. With a custom logo because that was an option; I cooked up a Gibson-style Zoilu logo. It'll be done next week. 👀
    I don't really care if it says anything else on the headstock. But it's the shape. Those Epiphone buttcrack headstocks can go exist in another universe ...
    I heard in the coming future Epiphone will be switching to the Gibson headstock for all "inspired by Gibson" models. So that's intriguing.

    Its a knockoff $300 guitar. Minor details that are off is to be expected. Most are easily fixed, but maybe not the neck. At any rate, Id take a knockoff and correct it for the $. I have a 2009 R9 VOS, but youre talking $11,000 vs maybe $1,000 guitar that you can mess with and still wind up with a really good sounding and playing LP.

    Anyone that buys a "chibson" does that because the Gibson, and other brands are overpriced.
    I'm not saying they should be the same price as the chibsons, but hello!
    Today everything is expensive because of the "natural economical growth "... there's nothing natural with economics!!!
    It's all supply and demand!!!

    • @HeadbangersLocal
      @HeadbangersLocal  26 дней назад +2

      Yea the price was definitely a factor for me . Also , tinkering with a less expensive guitar made more sense . I have a few real Gibsons that I’m not comfortable doing certain things on. Also, you can full customize a Chibson to your specific specs before you even order it. Doing that on a Gibson would cost A LOT extra. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤘🏻

      @@HeadbangersLocal i don't that should be the right question to ask. these are musical instruments built by hand. inflation adjusted, today's prices are not that far off from what they initially went for. also, perhaps we should all think about pride in a brand and respect for intellectual property. i'd feel like a major poser buying one of these and actually playing it in front of people.

      They arent rubbish, they are an affordable alternative to a seriously overpriced item produced by a company in chapter 11 bankruptcy. We arent saying they are as good as what YOU say, we merely appreciate them for what they are. Piss off with that bullshit.

      @@harryadam7679 they’re crappy Chinese pickups . A dime a dozen . Nothing worth writing home about in the slightest . I get why you normally would want to hear the guitar, but for chibsons I really don’t see the point unless I was specifically talking about the pickups in the video . The point of this was mostly the craftsmanship. I believe there are sound demos in the video . Also, I use a Helix , which can make crappy pickups sound good .
