Alright, big points to whoever made the wide shot for the boat. Those character cameos are a really sweet detail and an excellent nod to Family Guy’s history. Peter’s dad, Angela, Mr. Weed, Adam We. Even the one-offs like Franz, Yamamoto and Big Fat Paulie.

That's the thing, in this scenario; Doctor Hartman is so incompetent at his job; he immediately tells the family that Peter is brain dead. He may be stupid beyond belief, but his brain still exists. Such news of brain death is never taken lightly. From brain activity being null or 0% activity, the person's brain is pretty much dead. The cells kept alive purely by life support that keeps the body sustained. Oxygen pumped into the lungs, Sustinence through IV, etc etc. When you're told that your loved one is brain dead, they cannot recover because the spark of life is gone. Peter returns because he was never brain dead to begin with. He was in a serious coma and Dr. Hartman just immediately jumps to conclusions as he does with everyone else in the show.
Judging by the hospital scenes before and after Peters dream, some time had passed if all his friends are in the hospital room with him so my assumption is that they all got together and decided pulling the plug would be the best option
Lots of people, I’d imagine. People who have a living will that says “pull the plug” and then make a miraculous comeback wouldn’t be upset by having their will carried out and then suddenly not needing it.

His antics does have an affect on Lois since she randomly started whacking him with a magazine because once again Peter was about to pull something that would’ve put himself and his family in a worse position. Despite Lois being right and almost a public hero for pulling the plug on her chaotic husband, she is not a victim because she can leave him and live in another country in a heartbeat due to her parents money. The true victims are the kids. Poor Meg is constantly attacked by Peter (and Lois) for no reason. She makes good grades, isn’t a problem child, assisted Peter in confronting his sister Karen in hopes to stop Peter’s abuse towards her, and even saved his life twice and he still treats her like shit. Yeah he have one or two episodes where he’s nice towards her and even a father towards her but 97% of the time he’s this horrible asshole, and if anyone should be pulling the plug on him it should be her. He treats Chris better, but he isn’t there for Chris. He’s too busy being plastered in the Drunken Clam concocting a terroristic scheme with his buddies. And his relationship with Stewie is nonexistent to the point that in “ A Lot Going on Upstairs” Stewie admits that the same douche dog who gave him herpes is more of a father figure than Peter will ever be. Yet somehow Lois is in the wrong for taking the kids away from such a useless, chaotic, abusive person. If anything Lois is wrong for not teaching her children standards by staying with such an undeserving man. And no Peter can’t make up for his lack of being a family man by spending time with his family in one and two episodes. In The Simpsons, majority of the episodes is Homer having an adventure with one or all of his family members, unlike the sorry Peter Griffin.

It's weird when Peter was dead that he had to get on a boat. Had dream that I had died and was on a boat and was given the one time choice to get on or off while it was in port.
When my dad got diagnosed with end-stage cancer, they gave us a direct line to his doctor. No need to call an ambulance. If anything happens, right to him, he knows the case already. Didn't pick up the night my dad died, called back the next morning if something happened. They actually send us a letter 2 weeks later asking how satisfied we were with the service.
